Or are you happy with your lot? Smile

A door from the kitchen directly into the garden/onto the patio, currently opens into a passage at the side of the house.

More evenly sized bedroom, currently have 2 two very large doubles, a good sized single and a box room.

More electric sockets without needing to redecorate!

LetItGoGo · 23/01/2021 10:48

In my dream home I'm never sure if I'd want a library/ study or a library corner in a bigger room!

poorbuthappy · 23/01/2021 10:52

I actually need a tardis so I can go back in time and have the proper discussion (argument) with DH about doing the extension 2 storey not 1.
It's my only proper regret

Trinacham · 23/01/2021 10:54

to have room for another loo. We currently have 1 room with just a loo, and one room with just a bathroom and sink. People have said why don't you knock the wall through to make one big bathroom, but that would mean no separate loo when someone's in the bath! We would do it if we had another loo.

Maybe a bigger garden.

to not be terraced. We are mid-terraced, and this isn't usually a big deal, but I would rather be detached completely. We have a neighbor who loves DIY!

CupoTeap · 23/01/2021 10:59

That I owed it, add a porch and redo the drive.

Lunaballoon · 23/01/2021 10:59

Double glazing
An en-suite shower in the bedroom in the loft conversion. I really regret not having built a dormer so there’d be enough head height for a shower room.
A larger, more private garden, with room for a greenhouse and potting shed

MrsSmith2021 · 23/01/2021 11:00

More storage, bigger third bedroom, detached.

Sceptre86 · 23/01/2021 11:04

Bigger garden, would extend and change the kitchen layout and a playroom would be added which could eventually be used as a study.

  1. Insulated loft (it's the master bedroom -done in 80s and is a little chilly) 2. more outside space instead of a little roof terrace and so I guess I'm saying 3. probs a house rather than a maisonette flat. BUT we are ftb in an expensive area so we're incredibly lucky to be homeowners and it's a beautiful flat really so can't complain.
DipSwimSwoosh · 23/01/2021 11:05

Garden not overlooked
Downstairs loo
Get rid of ensuite

ParisJeTAime · 23/01/2021 12:18

Oh misread and thought you said 1 thing!

  1. move kitchen from front to back, turning kitchen into a snug with fireplace or stove
  2. get rid of a bathroom and create more wardrobe space / walk in wardrobe
  3. extend the garden so it is massive (this is the stuff of fantasies, but you know)
SedentaryCat · 23/01/2021 12:30

Bigger third bedroom (it's an 8 x 7ft box room).
Have the garage attached to the house. It's currently in a block across the road.
Not to be so overlooked. There must be at least 20 houses that can see into each other's back garden.

But generally very happy here.

Spied · 23/01/2021 12:33

Larger third bedroom
Add a fourth
Large dining space.

greyinganddecaying · 23/01/2021 12:38

I love my house, but if pushed I'd want a bigger garden, not to be overlooked & somewhere to fit a staircase up to the loft

cherrypop86 · 23/01/2021 13:10

An extra bedroom, a 2nd toilet and a garden.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 23/01/2021 13:14

Bigger garden. Porch for storing pram. Slightly higher ceilings. But I love our house anyway.

huggzy · 23/01/2021 13:27

Quite a lot so would be easier to move!

The third bedroom is far too small.
The first bedroom is too narrow.
I'd like a fourth bedroom.
Bigger bathroom would be nice.
I don't like that it's semi detached.
We're too overlooked.
A bigger garden would be lovely as would a separate dining room.
The drive is long enough for two cars end to end but I'd prefer to be able to park them side by side.
We have really narrow windowsills which means you can't 'use' them. I'd love to be able to have a vase of flowers in the window.

There's probably more 😆

GothamGirl1970 · 23/01/2021 13:29

Another bedroom or a wider lounge

MiddleClassMother · 23/01/2021 13:34

A guest house, my house is already big, detached and gated, but my guest bedroom is inside the house, I'd prefer a separate building so I could have my peace when guests stay over more than just a night (my parents come and stay as they live in the SE and I live in the north)

Scarby9 · 23/01/2021 13:37

I'm very happy with the house, but if I could wave a magic wand and make 3 changes, they would be:

  • less draughty, especially the hall
  • One more downstairs room to use as home office
  • downstairs toilet (or shower room, even better)
DustyMaiden · 23/01/2021 13:41

I love everything about my house. Just finished renovation. Only thing I would like is a longer drive.

sarahphimanellahim · 23/01/2021 13:56

I would add a 4th en-suite bedroom above the garage, would make the kitchen diner much bigger, and would therefore need a bigger garden to accommodate the bigger kitchen.

mamaduckbone · 23/01/2021 16:54

Off-road parking, an extra room downstairs or bigger kitchen/family room and a bigger garden.
We are attempting to move for all those reasons but it just isn't happening, for obvious reasons. I love the upstairs of our house. Actually I love all of our house but it just isn't big enough.

BruceAndNosh · 23/01/2021 17:01

Thin out neighbour's trees on South and west side of the house to improve the light. Not get rid of them altogether.
Improve the internal sound insulation.
Move it closer to the village centre

spiderlight · 23/01/2021 17:04

A second loo, a (much) bigger garden, and get rid of the horrible laminate in the living/dining room and restore the woodblock that's under it. We will do the latter at some point but it would be the most enormous ballache to get all the furniture out - it's two rooms knocked into one, so if we did it all in one go there's nowhere to put the furniture. I really wish we'd been able to do it before we moved in but the sale dragged on to the point where I was massively pregnant.
