Or are you happy with your lot? Smile

Double the size and number of rooms
Increase storage space
Bifold doors along part of back of house

goldpendant · 22/01/2021 23:21

Driveway
Quieter road
Downstairs loo

But that's it. Love this house and for all the looking I do on Rightmove I can't find anything better (even if I up the budget significantly)! I guess that's the trade off for the busier road.

MsAwesomeDragon · 22/01/2021 23:23

I'd make it cleaner (by hiring a cleaner, not me doing the cleaning)

Maybe add an office

Add a utility room.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/01/2021 23:24

Possible:
Have every wall skimmed and repainted
Knock down conservatory and replace with kitchen extension, make existing kitchen and downstairs shower room plus utility
Replace PVC windows with wooden sash ones
Tart up garden.

Not possible:
Make it detached with a bigger garden that isn’t overlooked, and add on a 4th bedroom somehow. The 4th bedroom is probably technically possible if we did a double height extension, but that would mean extensively remodelling the entire upstairs and I don’t think the house would be worth it.

MegBusset · 22/01/2021 23:26

Knock down the conservatory and replace it with a properly insulated extension (too expensive and messy for us to do)

New kitchen (ditto)

Convert the attic to a bedroom (not possible due to shape of house)

NovemberR · 22/01/2021 23:28

I'd get rid of the damp.
New roof
New windows.

All of these are major problems and waaaay out of our budget.

Witchend · 22/01/2021 23:29

The leak on the kitchen roof mended (yes we've had lots of people in and none can pinpoint it!)
An extension. Nothing too big. I'd like a sewing room, a library and a spare bedroom and dh better have an office. Grin Okay, actually a huge extension.
Someone to magically tidy it.

Takeitonthechin · 22/01/2021 23:29

The neighbours, the orientation, everything interior

Ariela · 22/01/2021 23:29

Location. We like the house, and loved the location when we moved here, but too much housebuilding in the wider general area has meant this is lockdown walking spot No 1. Far too many people (it's noisy), loads of loose dogs that poo on the lawn, can't get the car out because someone has parked across the gate (to be fair they think it's just a farm gate I think, but it goes round the back to where we park off the road), and as for theidiots that decide as a group to split half one side of the road half the other when you want to drive past (but there isn't room...)

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 22/01/2021 23:32

Move the entire house forward by 10 feet. (Creating smaller front garden and bigger back garden.)

Would resurface driveway which looks a bloody mess.

SpudsandGravy · 22/01/2021 23:32

New kitchen, a bit more storage space, room for a bath and a bit of a garden. Otherwise I'm very fond of it :)

yearinyearout · 22/01/2021 23:35

Bigger bedrooms, utility room, and bigger hall with a coat/shoe cupboard

PickAChew · 22/01/2021 23:35

Need a laundry room.
Better insulated end wall
More storage.

Labobo · 22/01/2021 23:41

New kitchen - ours was already in when we moved here and I've always hated the layout.

Wardrobes instead of fitted cupboards. They are rubbish and smell damp but again, ripping them out would mean replastering, new carpets and wardrobes which would cost thousands.

New bathrooms. Still fine but not to my taste any more. Or new utility which again has such rubbish layout.

RoseMartha · 22/01/2021 23:43

Well first I would change my flat to a house. It would have a level garden and a decent space between our neighbours.

If you mean where I currently live. It needs a new boiler, decorating and I would also go for a new kitchen. However, I cant afford that. Well I can stretch to some paint so I could decorate.

RainbowMum11 · 22/01/2021 23:44

Slightly bigger bedrooms (or I could de clutter!)
I would love a utility room and downstairs toilet, which is a potential future project.

caringcarer · 22/01/2021 23:47

I've already got most of things people seem to want but ...

A nicer garden maybe landscaped and regularly maintained.

Ensuite to second bedroom. Just nicer for a guest.

Make garage into a second lounge and build another garage parallel to side of house as a couple of others have done.

I'm generally happy with what we have now.

Magissa · 22/01/2021 23:50

We live in a flat in London. I wish we had a balcony, a window in the bathroom and either a bigger skylight or better yet a window in the kitchen. I love the size and coziness but the lack of daylight and fresh air drives me mad.

Chalkcheese · 22/01/2021 23:51

Who owns it 🤣 eg. Would be not my landlord
Then I'd insulate it properly
& redo all the floors

NellyJames · 22/01/2021 23:51

I’d like to be set back further from the road. We’re in a large Edwardian semi and I don’t actually mind living in a semi but I’d like to be set a bit further back so we could get two cars one behind the other on the drive rather than just side by side.
I’d like the same amount of living space but over just 2 floors rather than 4 as the stairs are a killer.
I’d like a wide garden with trees and distinct areas instead of just long and lawned.
But on the whole I’ve been happy here and when we move later this year, I’ll look back with fond memories.

Chalkcheese · 22/01/2021 23:51

Would be me not my landlord sorry

FloconDeNeige · 22/01/2021 23:53
  1. An underground garage
  2. A dedicated fitness room
  3. A hobby room with a velux window for the telescope, space for puzzles, painting, giant knitting etc.
Kpo58 · 23/01/2021 00:08

I'd struggle to list just 3 things.

1/ need a second reception room
2/ need bigger bedrooms (instead of the 2nd/3rd bedrooms being tiny box rooms)
3/ bigger kitchen as mine is tiny
4/ downstairs toilet wanted
5/ bigger garden as mine is pocket sized and unusable for half the year or so
6/ location of said house
7/ window in the bathroom
8/ decent space for storage
9/ office as it's really difficult to work from home with everyone in the same room all day every day
10/ entire place to be bigger so we aren't always on top of each other and feeling suffocated

You can tell that I don't like this place much...

Curlyshabtree · 23/01/2021 00:12

Convert basement to a kitchen/diner. Make existing kitchen a study. A garden

grassisjeweled · 23/01/2021 02:48

New bathrooms

All bedrooms on one floor

A home office each for me and DH
