Or are you happy with your lot? Smile

The occupants Grin.

FunTimes2020 · 22/01/2021 22:03

@Maybesomethingmaybenothing

This is really outing will have to name change again but the houses across the road have a jaw-dropping view of the other side of the valley. We have it from upstairs, but downstairs: just the garden. I covet their view.
How is this outing? I'm curious, not being funny. Smile
Sway19 · 22/01/2021 22:04

@Msfoxy17 do you have to walk through your kitchen to get to your bathroom?
@Workyticket how long do you think it’ll take you to pay off your extension loan?
another year. We used some redundancy too so it's not a huge loan.
Dp was a builder and can turn his hand to most things which can be great but means things take ages as he wants to do lots himself but doesn't have much time.

Toffeefee23 · 22/01/2021 22:05

Oh and heating that works / insulation. On the cold days our house is 14 degrees with the heating on Sad
@AveEldon or contain a toddler to one part of the house... I feel your pain
We still have the dividing gates but the teens can step over them!!

FrothyB · 22/01/2021 22:06

I'd like it to have a few acres of land attached to it, along with the seclusion that brings.

A kitchen who's wiring wasn't done seemingly by a hobbyist.
A study or some other room I could call my space. (No toys, playpens, or my partners things in random places and having to shut anything hobby related away never to see the light of day again.)
As the acres of land is impossible with this house, I'll say an extension that enables a downstairs toilet for my Mum to use as she struggles to get up the stairs and therefore doesn't come round as much as we would like.

twinklespells · 22/01/2021 22:06

Make it detached

Bigger garden

Extend the kitchen out but only enough to skylights because it's a dark period cottage, space wise it's alright

So major things Grin

Marmite27 · 22/01/2021 22:08

Downstairs loo.

Log burner in the living room.

Side 2 storey extension, attaching the garage and utility and a bigger 3rd bedroom.

Lurkingforawhile · 22/01/2021 22:09

Second toilet, a warmer house, and slightly wider doors!

Meredithgrey1 · 22/01/2021 22:09

Add a hallway so the stairs don’t come straight down into the living room (but would only do this if it magically didn’t mean reducing the size of the living room).
Door between living room and kitchen/dining room - at the moment it’s a wide archway.
Bigger third bedroom.

EssentiallyDelighted · 22/01/2021 22:10

Bigger everywhere. If I could double the size of each room and the garden that would be great.
Second bathroom.
Utility room.

Ruthietuthie · 22/01/2021 22:10
 1. Less shade at the front (the house is set back between other houses, plus has a beautiful but large tree). We couldn't change this, but I sometimes hate having a shady front room and really struggle to grow anything in the front.
 2. Somewhere, anywhere, to hang coats and put shoes at the front door. There just isn't room. A boot room of some sort would be even better. There just isn't space for one anywhere.
 3. Downstairs basement converted to a guest-suite, with bedroom, mini sitting room, and bathroom. This is possible, but not in the budget for a good long while. This would mean I could have the spare-bedroom as an office only.
wowfudge · 22/01/2021 22:10

New bathroom, secondary glazing, sliding doors in attic room.

Maybesomethingmaybenothing · 22/01/2021 22:11

FunTimes2020 I’m just convinced that if you give enough info o we a series of posts, people who know you will piece it together and know who you are.
But I’m a really private person and probably paranoid (not being facetious) so I’m sure it doesn’t make sense.

Excellent insulation
Proper wfh/office space
Get garden totally revamped so it can be played in properly (would also require reorientation of the house on the plot and if I can have a pool
Too that would be ace)

Those are my top 3, plenty of others though!!

EwwSprouts · 22/01/2021 22:13

A bath only got a shower.
Bigger kitchen or a utility room.
More flowers in the garden, it's mainly hedge.

LongIslandIcedT · 22/01/2021 22:14

I need an office, fed up of working from the kitchen table.

The house is becoming small as the DCs grow and we are beginning to struggle with only one bathroom. We are settled and the location is perfect for us so don't plan on moving.

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 22:14

We have a classic modern house! No storage, too many fecking bathrooms (with no storage in them), a loft conversion and not much character!

There is so much I'd like to change, but if you lent me a magic wand to do one thing only, I'd move my kitchen from the front of the house to the back and make the kitchen into a second living room / snug.

NotMeekNotObedient · 22/01/2021 22:15

Extra bedroom
Downstairs loo
Garage for car mad DH

LetItGoGo · 22/01/2021 22:16

I'd move it to a warmer country. I'm not even fussy which one.

ForeverInADay · 22/01/2021 22:16

Bigger garden
Not be overlooked
Finally do the en-suite bathroom up!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 22/01/2021 22:16

Garden annexe / annexe extension
Bigger bedrooms
Non shared driveway
