Bigger garden
Another bedroom
A kitchen we could put a table in

Bunnybigears · 23/01/2021 09:08

No damp
Windows without gaps round the outside
No mould

lilfoxfur · 23/01/2021 09:09

Third bedroom
Downstairs toilet
Better plumbing

Daisy829 · 23/01/2021 09:14

Bigger bedrooms, utility room, loft conversion. The loft conversion is doable actually but DH won’t consider it. I don’t think he wants the mess.

HappydaysArehere · 23/01/2021 09:26

I would love a bigger kitchen. Always amazed by those being shown on those house seeking tv programmes.
There are lots of houses in our street which have ground floor bathrooms but most have had a toilet/shower put in upstairs.

GoldGreen · 23/01/2021 09:28

Make it detached, bigger garden, one of the neighbours move away

saffire · 23/01/2021 09:29

Higher roof pitch so I could convert the loft.

Move the stairs so they don't take up so much room.

En-suite to one of the bedrooms.

Shmithecat2 · 23/01/2021 09:34

Floor that aren't wonky.
Higher ceilings in some of the rooms (part of the house was built in early 19th century, I am NOT short).
The addition of a massive utility/cats/boot room would be amazing.

I love the rest of it. Location, large gardens, driveway/garage, features etc.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 23/01/2021 09:45

Location

Could really do with a few more rooms, a house is never too big (or big enough) but the main thing would be to have a sea view.

As we bought this one to be commutable for London, you can imagine how far from the sea we are!

Em8725 · 23/01/2021 09:51

I’d love a utility room with downstairs loo,

Underfloor heating in the kitchen,

A spare bedroom/bigger third bedroom.

My youngest has the box room, which admittedly is bigger than some I’ve seen, but is still teeny tiny. I’d love another double bedroom to move him into, and use the box room as an office/wfh/school setting. Currently we are all in the kitchen, living room and upstairs trying to work around each other and failing 😂

PandemicPalava · 23/01/2021 09:51

Small porch or hallway - front door opens into living room and I hate it

Downstairs bathroom - we only have one upstairs

Dining room so we could have a table out - at the moment we have a fold out but it's annoying

yanisakershman · 23/01/2021 10:03

Definitely add a utility room

Tumbleweed101 · 23/01/2021 10:09

I’d like a utility room and a bigger small bedroom (can fit a single bed and bedside table but that’s it).

FoxInSocks2 · 23/01/2021 10:10

Larger garden, a driveway and another downstairs room (whether that be playroom/dining room/utility)

CandidaAlbicans2 · 23/01/2021 10:12

My little home has a lot going for it, like a good location, quiet, well behaved neighbours, gardens get the sun, but would be better if it...

...was detached. My neighbours are good but the walls are so thin, and I'd love to have my TV up as loud as I like without having to consider anyone else. I don't have it loud but still wonder if they can hear it. And I can hear them have sex so that would make me really self-conscious when I eventually get a man "friend" Wink

A porch so I can leave my muddy boots and wet walking kit there rather than having to bring it in the house 🙄

Slightly bigger rooms. The bedrooms and bathroom are a little snug which limits the layout possibilities.

pursuedbyablackdog · 23/01/2021 10:13

My kitchen...I hate it, it's so tiny I have exactly 1x1M of work surface!

Iwantmychairback · 23/01/2021 10:14

Move it off the ‘main’ road - (in a tiny village so not really a main road, and tbh it’s great to be on the main road in thick snow like today.)

A second, small room, so I have somewhere quiet to read.

Better insulation, so it’s much warmer.

Dogsaresomucheasier · 23/01/2021 10:14

Second reception room so we can escape one another a bit more, laundry room, garage would all make life much more comfortable.

Seriously, I feel very, very lucky to have what we do.

80sMum · 23/01/2021 10:16

I would like:

  1. An ensuite bathroom
  2. A boot room where I could keep all the muddy boots, wet coats, sacks of birdseed etc
  3. A mirrored exercise room with treadmill, weights etc
mdh2020 · 23/01/2021 10:19

Another radiator in lounge and one in the kitchen. Otherwise I think we are doing fine. We have a steep drive and steps up to the front door which are going to become difficult eventually.

FlowS · 23/01/2021 10:21

A bigger garden.
Downstairs toilet.
Larger hallway.

PeppermintSoda · 23/01/2021 10:27

Loads of things, although I'm not unhappy here. Loft conversion, quieter road, tree cut down

MirandaMarple · 23/01/2021 10:31

Apart from it being damp (it's 280 years old, and I'm having it fixed) it's my ideal house.

Character, a view and semi-rural. It's the reason I moved from a large city suburb to where I am now. Been here since July.

HexWitch · 23/01/2021 10:39

I'd relocate it to the countryside
Bigger, paved garden
Resolve the damp issue for good!!

Thesagacontinues · 23/01/2021 10:42

Were building at the minute - a house that we designed with everything we wanted 18 months ago. Were only at the building stage and I already thing theres things we missed out and I would change if I could. I would add a cloak room keep the entrance hall free of coats and shoes, and would add a small library room for dc.
