Good Morning all Dict8 ladies

Whitestar5 · 20/01/2021 14:13

I wish DICT8 was a cooperative like Suma Wholefoods, where everyone is on £40K a year, regardless of job title/role, and roles are shared where possible. That would give my mojo a huge boost! Grin

Chrissols · 20/01/2021 14:18

Same here, I think when there is so little work you lose the incentive to work when you see the odd one a few seconds long

Gally123 · 20/01/2021 14:34

I need a holiday and some sun. I did manage a few days (3-4) away in October but there was not much sun. I need something to look forward to, other than a possible COVID vaccination.

carosel2 · 20/01/2021 14:49

Verrrrry, verrrry quieeeetttt today! Could fall asleep!

danblack87 · 20/01/2021 15:06

@meha5: I feel the same. I will be glad when we get to Spring/Summer so I can get out in the garden ... I think it is just too dark and dreary ... weather, winter, COVID, reduced work, stresses!!! Chin up Smile

Chrissols · 20/01/2021 15:23

The quietness forced me to do my tax return (albeit nearly cut off date).......all done thank goodness.......and a nice rebate, something to smile about 😁😁😁

Meha5 · 20/01/2021 15:29

@danblack87 and @Gally123 so need a holiday it's like sleep, type, eat repeat at the moment 🥱 not too bad workwise but the enthusiasm has left the building today 😂

danblack87 · 21/01/2021 09:43

Mornin' all: Got my smiley face/enthusiasm face on - see how it goes!!

Chrissols · 21/01/2021 10:02

Morning @danblack87, sounding quite chipper today 🥳🥳

OP posts:
Chrissols · 21/01/2021 10:43

Good job I'm in a CBA mood, as there's no work to do........

OP posts:
danblack87 · 21/01/2021 10:56

I am now in a 'CBA' mood (laugh). The 'chipper' did hang around long Hmm

Gally123 · 21/01/2021 11:47

must be my age - I had to google "CBA"...no work either DICT8 or Tpro (even though I keep getting messages that I have been added to various backlogs I never see these...) so I have been shopping instead.

I have done a few tasks on both DICT8 and Tpro in the evenings though this week 8-9pmish.

Chrissols · 21/01/2021 12:15

@Gally123 that made me giggle, googling 'CBA'. I have seen nothing on Dict8 but being kept going with TPro, I may even hit my 150 mark this week which I never do...... I really do not want to work past 6.00pm as this has always been my cut off point, so I get some free time

OP posts:
Gally123 · 21/01/2021 12:25

@Chrissols - I work in the evenings (and occasionally weekends) to make up time, like today when I went shopping, or last week when I watched some of the snooker on the TV. When I first started with DICT8 I worked all the time, whenever there was anything to do (but I only had one or two specialties then), esp in the run up to Christmas but I discovered I then fell behind on my housework so now I only work outside "normal" hours if I take time out during the day (esp in the summer if I go out in the garden).

danblack87 · 21/01/2021 12:31

@Gally123 and @Chrissols - I used work all times of the day and night but now I tend to keep it between 9 and 4 (with some variance due to shopping, cooking and cleaning, etc). I do like to do a Saturday morning if the work is there and occasionally on a Sunday whilst roast is on (but, don't cook the big meals like I used to because of lockdown - no-one coming for dinner or lunch!!). My hands and right shoulder tells me when it is time to stop!! BUT there is more to life so I like some Me time. I do prefer it in the Spring/Summer months so I can get out in the garden and I really miss that at the moment hence CBA and loss of mojo.

Gally123 · 21/01/2021 12:41

@Chrissols @danblack87 - when I first started and it was my only source of income I worried that I would not be able to pay the bills, mortgage etc hence I worked whenever I can. Now I have been doing it a few years I take more time out, am more flexible as to when I work, it is just that lockdown and the loss of work generally is making me a little more concerned again regarding present and future earnings. There is not always going to be the SEISS grants to fall back on.

danblack87 · 21/01/2021 13:48

I am applying for SEISS grant on Saturday (deadline 29 Jan). I didn't do the second but I am applying for this one as it states you have to have put in your tax return for 2018 to 2019 which I have done and my Tax Advisor is just putting in my return for 2019 to 2020.

Gally123 · 21/01/2021 14:12

@danblack87 - I applied for the first two but was going to miss this one and then see if there is another in a few months, as I am okay, just, at the moment, (and I took on extra work with Tpro in October but that does not pay very much) but who knows how long this situation is going to last. This third grant lasts from October to January then, so there should be a fourth one if lockdown is going to last until March or longer.

Chrissols · 21/01/2021 14:13

I couldn't get a ground all along as have a very small (extremely small) pension coming it so was told not to bother, goodness knows why when it is so small and my income was down to a third at one point

OP posts:
Chrissols · 21/01/2021 14:14

grant, not ground.....

OP posts:
Chrissols · 21/01/2021 14:16

And today, well I needn't have bothered logging on to Dict8 so far as not had a thing!

OP posts:
danblack87 · 21/01/2021 15:10

I have had work coming in but I have been a little choosy (too choosy probably) I feel that deflated and out sorts since late this morning. Cleaning coming along nicely though LOL

danblack87 · 21/01/2021 15:15

@Gally123: I wonder if you should try to put this SEISS (deadline 29 Jan) in it ; after all, you can always be turned down? There maybe a grant later on but I am not counting my eggs until they are all in the basket

Gally123 · 21/01/2021 15:34

@danblack87 - there will be a fourth grant from 1 February through to April.

danblack87 · 21/01/2021 15:57

@Gally123: That is good to know Smile
