Good Morning all Dict8 ladies

Meha5 · 26/01/2021 16:56

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork I used to temp for years in all departments in the NHS but was only given two specialties not sure why. Everyone moans about their job but to be fair the pros of working for DICT8 outweigh the cons for me.

Curlykris · 26/01/2021 17:07

@Chrissols,Thanks, I know I will want to use a foot pedal, think will prob invest in a desk top too!

Poppy379 · 26/01/2021 19:21

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork It's all down to personal preference I know, but from my own perspective I'd say I wouldn't bother investing in a desk top if you've got a laptop already. I use my laptop with a separate keyboard and sit the laptop raised and elevated toward the back of my desk. You shouldn't necessarily even have to invest in a specific laptop stand, as a sturdy box does the job just as well for me to raise the screen up to the ideal ergonomic level!

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork
So sorry - rushing to jot off this message I mixed you up!!

Curlykris · 26/01/2021 19:41

@mrsjoyfulprizeforrafiawork Thanks, might give that a try and see how I get on.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 26/01/2021 19:49

Thanks for the feedback about the job. I'll see how it goes and may join your ranks (if there is any work!). Rather inconvenient that they pay by cheque - I find it a real pain as I have to travel 3 miles to nearest branch of my bank to bank it and am especially reluctant to get on public transport now with Covid (and don't have a car). I'll have to read up all their rules & directions(that they sent me pages of years ago) to see what format etc they require (unless it has all changed by now).

Chrissols · 26/01/2021 20:36

@Serendipity09, nope, as far as I am aware we are all paid the same

Chrissols · 26/01/2021 20:37

Sorry, for some reason I think I had an old post showing.....replied and it disappeared 🤪

Gally123 · 26/01/2021 20:54

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork - I pay my cheque in via the post office, if you have one nearer to you. All you need is your paying in slip, the Post office has the envelops (I go in and ask for a few in advance) and then the cheque is sent off first class and they give you a receipt. If I pay in on a Saturday it is normally in my account my Wednesday/Thursday.

flutterby18 · 26/01/2021 21:54

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork I pay my cheque in via mobile banking by scanning my cheque on my phone- it is so much easier and I don't have to find a bank etc. I also use a desktop and foot pedal.

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 08:16

My bank won’t accept mobile scanning for Dict8 cheques as they have an embossed logo on them

carosel2 · 27/01/2021 08:20

@Poppy379 - Im like you, I use a laptop with a separate keyboard as I use an ergonomic one, as I find the keyboard on a laptop bad for my arthritis/carpel tunnel. It has its advantages too because I have a caravan we used regularly and I used to take it with me just in case I fancied doing a bit of work when away, obviously that's not happening now due to covid, but like I said you could use it like that too when things with Covid settle down. I pay by mobile banking so I don't after leave the house to do so, which is brilliant but bear in mind you can't bank a cheque this way if it's more than £500 and I've never exceeded that even when work was pre-Covid and certainly are no where near that figure a month now! Im lucky to bank £250ish. I just hope it picks up, as I rely on that to top up my pension. It is very slow on DICT8 at the moment but have to say it does seem the more professional company to work for reading the posts here. Tried Tpro about 3 times but never get an anywhere

carosel2 · 27/01/2021 08:25

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork @Curlykris - sorry some of my message was for you guys too, forgot to add your details Wink

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 08:46

I found TPro really hard going at first but quite like them now and it’s great that they pay direct to your bank, always lots of work too

OP posts:
Gally123 · 27/01/2021 09:23

@Chrissols - the work with Tpro seems to have dried up at the moment - I have done very little this week as several times when I log on there has been nothing at all. They seem to have worked through all their backlogs as well. I am wondering if they have taken on so many new staff now there is not enough work - I did 8 letters yesterday, for about £4.

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 09:26

@Gally123 I work for two hospitals for them, one seems to be quiet but the other seems quite busy again, haven't struggled for work at all.......yet

OP posts:
Gally123 · 27/01/2021 09:33

@Chrissols - that's good, as I was really twiddling my thumbs yesterday as both DICT8 and TPro had gaps of no work at times. TPro never seems to have anything early in the morning now, nothing until about 9.30, 10 am and there is nothing in the evening, with gaps throughout the day, stuff is typed as fast as it is uploaded.

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 09:38

@Gally123 I was actually typing with TPro until 9.00pm last night and there was loads left, still there this morning. I was actually busy with Dict8 yesterday as well, but this was the first day for them in about the last ten.

OP posts:
Chrissols · 27/01/2021 09:39

@Gally123 not seen a single task with Dict8 yet today

OP posts:
flutterby18 · 27/01/2021 11:07

@carosel2 - my bank accepts cheques up to £1000 via mobile banking, not that I make that much at the moment Smile

carosel2 · 27/01/2021 11:18

@flutterby19 - wow! I need to change banks Grin. I am with Yorkshire Bank and defo won't accept anymore than £500 but like you say would be nice to be earning sums like that Smile

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 11:21

@flutterby18 do you mind me asking which bank you are with, I have already decided to change my bank so would ideally like one that I don't have to go to every month with cheque

OP posts:
flutterby18 · 27/01/2021 11:33

@carosel2, @Chrissols - I am with Halifax. There is a transaction limit for each individual cheque of £1,000, with a maximum cheque daily limit of £2,000 per day, but only in sterling. Hope this helps - it makes life so much easier and the cheques clear pretty quickly too.

carosel2 · 27/01/2021 11:41

@flutterby18 - thank you very much for that, I will certainly consider that as I am not very happy with mine at the moment. That would make things so much easier by far, (would just have to earn more - if I can Grin) lol

flutterby18 · 27/01/2021 11:46

@carosel2 - You're welcome. I have been with Halifax for many many years and never had a problem with them or their online banking.
