Pay with Dict8

Good Morning all Dict8 ladies

OP posts:
Lovemydaxie · 21/04/2021 11:29

I applied to Tpro about 6 weeks ago, and have never heard anything back from them, not even an acknowledgement of my application! I was wondering if it had even received by them, but I'm not so bothered now as Dict8 has picked up so I don't feel I really need it, but was a tiny bit miffed that they didn't even say thanks, but no thanks.

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 11:46

@Lovemydaxie honestly, their pay is dire, 45p per minute of dictation and you have to mess around saving documents etc before uploading them, unlike Dict8 when you finished you press a button and their gone.

Could someone tell me how this typing service works. I worked at a GP surgery for 16 years as a secretary. We moved about 18 months ago - too far to commute. I have been looking for work but it is quite difficult at the moment due to surgeries not really taking on staff due to Covid and also I don't know the system they use here. I know EMIS and Vision but they use Systmone here. I would be very interested in typing work from home.

If anyone could advise that would be great. TIA

flutterby18 · 21/04/2021 11:53

@lovemydaxie - same thing happened to me with Tpro, I applied months ago and never heard anything from them. I think they may have been inundated with applications!

Accuro is a big no from me - not worth the effort involved in the short time that I worked for them, likewise with WeType. I much prefer Dict8, just type the letter and you're basically done without all the extra faffing that takes time.

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 12:08

@nannyshar you just need to be able to prove your experience in audio and in what specialties, it does sound like there is very little recruitment at the moment though by the the comments on this thread

OP posts:
nannyshar · 21/04/2021 12:28

@Chrissols Thank you. Are there any companies to avoid. I don't have specialist experience, more general as I worked in a GP surgery. Would it be worth applying.

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 12:32

@nannyshar Tpro seems to be the one that doesn't ask for any particular specialty and they always have a steady flow of work, mostly VR. They are based in Ireland and pay Euros but it is changed to sterling by your bank. Again, I am not sure if they are recruiting at the moment but worth giving them a try as they have a backlog of work at the moment.

@Nannyshar: I would apply to Dict8 - they have a speciality for GP surgery letters amongst many others. You will need proven experience of more than 5 years in medical secretarial/audio field and you will need a reference. Good Luck.

nannyshar · 21/04/2021 13:14

@danblack87 I have just applied to Dict8, they got back to me within a few minutes saying that they do not have any vacancies in General Practice and do not see that changing anytime soon. I will try TPro.

nannyshar · 21/04/2021 13:15

@Chrissols I will try Tpro, thank you.

Gally123 · 21/04/2021 13:38

@Chrissols just wondering in your reply to @Lovemydaxie whether you got Tpro and Accuro mixed up, as I think it is Accuro who pay about 45p per min whereas Tpro pay per character.

To those applying to Tpro I think it is worth following up if you are serious. I emailed a couple of weeks after I had not heard to check they had received my application due to laptop problems. They have so many applications I think as with any company you have to keep your name to the fore (unless of course they say not to contact them). The work for Tpro is certainly picking up whereas I am still seeing huge gaps with DICT8.

Also, wondering if all the people who took an extra specialty with DICT8 then dropped it due to poor dictation all had the same specialty! (The one I am thinking of dropping).

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 13:41

@Gally123 gosh yes I did sorry.

I am certainly seeing no shortage of work with Dict8 at the moment, it's such a nice change to know that when you finish one task there are still plenty more.

OP posts:
danblack87 · 21/04/2021 14:12

@Gally123 - I didn't take on any of the extra specialties added as I already had them except one in which I have no knowledge at all!!

danblack87 · 21/04/2021 14:13

Hi all: Amount of work available is good today on Dict8. I have not stopped for lunch but it is time I had a cup of tea!!

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 15:21

@danblack87 the amount of work is amazing isn't it, soooooo much better 🥳🥳🥳

OP posts:
danblack87 · 21/04/2021 15:25

@Chrissols: yes it is but my thumbs are starting to hurt now and I my shoulder is aching ... the work is still coming in which is fab. I shall have to give up v. soon though!!! Sad

carosel2 · 21/04/2021 15:32

@homeworkmum - I applied twice last year around January just before lockdown and they said they would get in touch when recruiting again and never heard anything. Then lockdown came! - I applied again this year and within a week I heard from them as they did say things were starting to pick up again, so good luck

Cherryblossom114 · 21/04/2021 15:58

Applied to WeType as they were recruiting on Indeed few months back but heard nothing, I was even sent a test to do and it says pass !! However it says if you've not heard from them within 90 days you've not been successful ..guess I wont be holding my breath but counting the days..90 days and 2 weeks. Lol

deewu · 21/04/2021 16:06

Just listened to a task with a hymn playing so loudly in the background couldn't hear a thing this is a first, makes a change from the screaming children!

Gally123 · 21/04/2021 16:14

@deewu - I once had a short task on Tpro that I marked "There is no dictation" - I think the doctor's small child had activated his handset and was doing some "dictation" while Mum was shouting something in the background (presumably not to touch etc but it was not in English) before it abruptly stopped.

Chrissols · 21/04/2021 16:14

@deewu I got one the other day where I sure he was playing table tennis.....all I could hear was him puffing and huffing and a ping pong ball bouncing

Morning All.
Have I missed moving to a new feed :( or has everyone been busy typing :)
I had a really good week with tasks available. Just having a coffee before I check to see how much there is available today.

Chrissols · 26/04/2021 09:40

@homeworkmum I think everyone has just been busy, no new feed as far as I am aware. Just looked and no tasks showing for me as yet, but Monday mornings are always the slowest to get going.

OP posts:
homeworkmum · 26/04/2021 09:45

@chrissols A bit like me this morning - slow to get going. I am now debating taking the dog for another walk before I check for tasks, but it has just got really cold after a lovely start to the morning - so maybe another coffee first lol

Chrissols · 26/04/2021 09:46

@homeworkmum I'm sat here with a hot mug of tea looking at holidays in the sun.........
