@Lovemydaxie just had a look on-line, I'm not quite eligible to book yet

OP posts:
Chrissols · 05/03/2021 17:22

Why is all the work coming in at this time again........I really can't be bothered now 🙄

Lovemydaxie · 05/03/2021 18:00

@Chrissols Do keep checking back, a friend has just booked hers. She is 53 and the site said over 60s. It's changing so quickly the web page can't keep up. Eventually it will let you book. It might also depend on area as well I guess.

Chrissols · 05/03/2021 19:56

@Lovemydaxie Thank you, will check daily

@Chrissols Yay, well done! It's a really good feeling, I felt so chuffed ☺

Chrissols · 06/03/2021 14:57

@Lovemydaxie I can't wait, second one 26 May so should definitely be okay for October holiday 😀😀

Hi @flutterby18 what did you decide about WeType? Dict8 certainly seems to be picking up, odd quiet day, but more busy ones (last three weeks or so). I am thinking about stopping typing for TPro as can't keep up with three at the moment, hopefully it will stay this way.

Hi @Chrissols - She asked to phone me to discuss things - not sure whether I passed the tests or not as I decided to withdraw my application before she phoned me. I was not very impressed with a couple of things to be honest including using Express Scribe and Word. I would rather just work for Dict8 I think as the other way is so long winded and takes so much time saving letters etc.

I worked for another company for a short time and they worked exactly the same way as We Type, and I spent more time saving and emailing the completed letters back to them.

Not for me - I like things to be more straightforward.

Chrissols · 08/03/2021 17:50

@flutterby18 I know exactly what you mean. I like dict8 so am just going to keep them on and my bit of private work - seems to be enough now as keeping me busy all day

@Gally123 - Have you been okay after your vaccine? Just realised you have not been on here since you said you was getting your Covid vaccine Smile

Gally123 · 08/03/2021 19:25

@flutterby18 - I've been fine thanks. I was a tad worried about side effects, some people I know suffered with headaches and 'flu signs, tiredness, but I have only had a sore arm, and some possible slight aches and pains (which I often have anyway). One of my sisters also had her jab this weekend and had more of a temperature she said. Glad I had the jab and glad no major probs. I have been trying to type as must as possible today as I took some time out last week and there seemed more work available.

flutterby18 · 08/03/2021 20:01

@Gally123 - That's good to hear that it all went well. I'm due to have my 2nd dose on Monday. The work does seem to be picking up a bit now and hopefully it stays that way Smile.

Chrissols · 09/03/2021 11:02

@danblack87 are you taking time out again, you're very quiet? Just like to hear everyone's ok 🥴

@Chrissols: Hi, I am okay but not been getting e-mails until now. Virgin Media was down and then laptop trouble ... my son-law (to-be) sorted it out for me on Sunday. Lost the will to live I did late Wednesday of last week. Just picked up this afternoon my Sertraline so I hope my mood is now on the up (it'll take a couple of days I suspect) [I put my repeat request in with plenty of time to spare but "As usual" 'we have no record of that request' ... now I know what 'cold turkey means' LOL. Had letter re. vaccine this morning so I will be booking a date for that tomorrow. Had a census letter to fill in on 21st March. Had an E-mail from HMRC about Grant (?end of April). Hope all is well at your end.

Chrissols · 09/03/2021 13:46

@danblack87 glad your getting sorted. I have my first vaccine tomorrow.....can't wait. Haven't received my census yet, but it will not doubt be on the way. Seems to be loads of work on Dict8 at the moment so all good.

My laptop is very slow today (and screen just gone blank for a few minutes, which worried me...) not sure if due to internet or Mumsnet or what, but I keep getting notifications for posts left last week. Weird.

danblack87 · 09/03/2021 13:55
Smile
danblack87 · 09/03/2021 13:59

@Gally123: Are you with Virgin Media? - when I rang on Thursday they said there was no internet connection problem. They were due out today but I cancelled once my son-in-law got me a new adaptor for my laptop ?!! [tp-link 300Mbps mini wireless USB adapter]. Cost £10 from Argos.

Gally123 · 09/03/2021 14:07

@danblack87 - no, I am with Plusnet. I will look at the adapter, however unfortunately with foot pedal, mouse and keyboard all in USB plug-ins, I have no free sockets left. My internet has been a bit variable for a few days, worse since I did updates at the weekend!

Chrissols · 09/03/2021 14:43

@Gally123 I keep last weeks notifications too so it must be mumsnet as I am on Sky

OP posts:
flutterby18 · 09/03/2021 14:55

@Gally 123 - sorry to jump in but you can get a connector with lots of USB slots on quite cheaply on Amazon or Ebay.

Gally123 · 09/03/2021 16:01

@flutterby18 - thanks, I wondered about that. My sister once wanted to buy me a little plug in lamp for the laptop but I said I did not have enough USB ports, but sometimes late afternoon in Winter etc a lamp would have been useful - and of course all these little bits we can take off our tax bills!!!

flutterby18 · 09/03/2021 16:37

@Gally123 - you're welcome. I plug a USB fan into my computer in the summer (when we get those warm summers) and also have foot pedal, keyboard plugged in etc, so I never have enough USB slots. The adapters are a really useful little gadget to have Smile.

Morning. Hope you don't mind me joining your thread. I worked for dict8 a while ago but then have had a employed job for the last 3 years but thinking of wfm full time doing typing again. Do you think it's doable to earn full time money from it, ie I would need to be earning £1400 a month but I'm assuming working tax credit would top it up if I didn't make that. What would be a reasonable monthly income from typing? Im miserable at my job and childcare for my 8 yo is becoming hard to come by in the holidays so thought about typing again. Thank you for any advice given. I also worked for accuro but found the wages very poor. Scary to jump ship from a paid job to self employed. I'm a single parent so not sure what to do.
