Buttocks - do you wash yours?

171 replies

Cheeseandlobster · 10/01/2021 16:28

Just sat in the bath and realised that unless I am in the shower, I never wash my buttocks. I always always wash my bum crack Blush but not my actual buttocks. I wash once sometimes twice a day so generally not a mucky bugger but my poor neglected buttocks.

I am now convinced that if I give them a good scrub everyday my bum will surely rival a peach Grin

Am I alone in my weird random muckiness?

Or do you somehow leave them jutting out over the edge of the bath?

Yes you are alone in this. And indeed weird. I have a little chap pop in twice a week to give mine a scrub with a Brillo pad.

I'm going to run myself a bath immediately and see if I can scrub 2 dress sizes' worth of dead skin off my neglected buttocks.

Once I was at a friend's house and went to the bathroom. All I could find to dry my hands was a tiny towel. When I came out she said "oh my god, I didn't put a hand towel in there, there's just my bum towel". That's all I have to contribute here.

No, there's a man in the village does that for me

Yes, a big sweeping movement with the shower scrunchie. However, using some sort of scrubber (which needs to be chucked in washing machine and replaced, frequently) sorry, it has never occurred to me to put my scrunchie in the wash. Surely it being in the hot shower with soap every day is ample?

@Confusedandshaken

I assume my buttocks just get washed in the general sudsy fallout from my upper body. I've never given them special attention. Nor do I pay close attention to my legs or between my toes. I wash arms. armpits, neck, boobs, feet, crack and outer genitalia thoroughly and the rest just takes care of itself. I smell of roses and sunshine.

Like everyone else I am washing my hands a LOT at the moment and it has wrecked my skin there. They are covered in cracked, itchy eczema/dermatitis. The neglected parts of my body remain smooth and perfect.

The same except not toes. I honestly just wash lather up the hits in easy reach, private bits and that's it. And I don't have stinky feet so it clearly works for me!

Just to be really disgusting. I actually don't think I do wash my buttocks... just never think to. I must be very gross! I do shower/bathe everyday. I will now though, thank you for helping solve a disgusting issue I never knew I had Grin

@Cheeseandlobster

I have a scrubber. Lots of scrubbers. And I wash my toes, belly button and behind the ears. But its quite hard to reach buttocks in the bath and I dont really think of them. Though they do get washed in the shower so not totally neglected.

*@rosegoldwatcher* I like the sound of your grandmother. Is possible ones nether regions?

I suppose the issue is that in the bath you are sitting on your buttocks so not so easy.

All these people washing their hair daily and scrubbing their legs and buttocks... its a wonderful your body hasn't just fallen apart.. its not healthy to wash that much.. wash when you actually need to wash not just for the sake of it.
Yes you need to wash areas where you sweat every day... but the outside of your buttocks, your hair and your legs? No you do not need to wash those every day dont be silly... particularly if you are having a daily bath or shower because they do not need a specific scrub that often (unless they've got really dirty for some reason)

This is reminding me of toddler DD2, who, during Christmas dinner, leant over and asked my mother with an air of polite interest, "have you got green buttocks?"

(DM was wearing a top with jade buttons. Buttons. Easily confused.)

I’m ashamed to say I’ve rarely scrubbed my whole body. I have eczema and all body washes flare it up. I wash the important bits - face, pits, private’s, feet etc with mild soap. But not not my buttocks as such. The rest is just cleaned from water in the shower. I shower every day and also bath a few times a week and I don’t smell. Been just using mainly water for years! I’m very clean!

Unicant- it’s perfectly possible to wash yourself without removing a layer of skin.

I have excessively oily hair due to my hormones so if I don’t wash daily my head looks like I tipped a an of chip fat on it. And yes, I’ve tried going without shampoo and my scalp never regulated itself - it’s an internal thing.

Just because you don’t need to wash daily doesn’t mean others don’t and if your skin falls off from a soaping then I suggest you visit your GP because they sounds like excema to be that sensitive

If I’m just having a quick daily shower and I’m not sweaty I would own wash the vital bits (bum crack yes, cheeks no)

I only scrub my skin couple times a week cos it’s dry

Will I now have to name change 😲 or be shunned forever 😭

@Russellbrandshair to be fair I fo have eczema yes... but I still think it woukd damage anyones skin to be rubbing it with soap unnecessarily every single day. I really do not think people need to wash every part of themselves that often if its getting rinsed in the shower every day anyway...
Maybe I am biased because my skin would literally start bleeding if I shaped it all the time but it can't be natural surely? What's the point? Your crotch gets dirty obviously.. but the outside of your buttocks? Surely a rinse in the shower every day is enough... ditto legs.
And regards the hair washing... obviously if you have to you have to... but it isn't a good idea for most people to wash their hair that often as it will dry out and break your hair

God knows what your hair is like, but hair does not need washing everyday.
