Buttocks - do you wash yours?

Cheeseandlobster · 10/01/2021 16:28

Just sat in the bath and realised that unless I am in the shower, I never wash my buttocks. I always always wash my bum crack Blush but not my actual buttocks. I wash once sometimes twice a day so generally not a mucky bugger but my poor neglected buttocks.

I am now convinced that if I give them a good scrub everyday my bum will surely rival a peach Grin

Am I alone in my weird random muckiness?

They will be washed sufficiently sitting in the bath, if you use bubble bath stuff etc. I am just running a bath at this moment, so will have a laugh about this while sitting in there.

It depends what you mean by "wash" them.

I don't actively "wash" my buttocks. They get wet and soapy in the bath or shower and might get a going over with a sponge but I don't think "hmm, my buttocks need a good scrub". For a non-orifice that's good enough. Life is too short to spend scrubbing a part of your body that doesn't see the light of day and doesn't emit potentially smelly and toxic substances.

If that makes me filthy, so be it. Grin

The thread title alone made me laugh in these awful times.

I do, and I sing Happy Birthday twice while so doing.

Same as you OP, yes in the shower, no in the bath.

The only parts of my body that I make a specific effort to wash are my face, armpits, between and under boobs, privates and feet. I just kind of have a quick go around with soap/shower gel of the rest, probably miss bits all the time. Besides the soap runs down your body as you wash. How dirty can arms, back, legs and buttocks actually get anyway Confused

@Jetatyeovilaerodrome

Why would you need to wash your arse cheeks at any other time than in the shower? Confused

This!

Now you see, my initial answer was, yes of course! But then thinking about it, I can't remember, I mean, it's just the same thing every time. Do I or don't I? Hmmm. I will have to observe later (which probably means I'll drop the soap 30 times and forget to wash my underarms...

It’s not so much about cleaning my buttocks, it’s more about exfoliating. I don’t want to see flaky white bits of dead skin lurking in my jeans when I get undressed.
I used to work in a place that had black toilet seats. That was sick making when certain people had previously used the facilities.

Buttocks always has been and always will be one of the most pleasing words in the English language!

Reminds me of this:

I'm even worse than you OP, I didn't start washing my feet properly in the shower until I was an adult. Used to think the suds would wash them somehow by running over them Envy. Luckily I'm not a naturally sweaty person I guess!

Now I'm 5 months pregnant I'm considering get a little stool in the shower because one-footed balancing is getting a bit tricky...

@rosegoldwatcher

Was not an easy task when I had two frozen shoulders!

My late grandmother, brought up in a time of strip washes at the sink, used to intone, "Wash down as far as possible and up as far as possible. Then wash possible."

This is GREAT! I am going to use this for my Dd with ASD, thank you.x

No I don't. They get washed in the Bath or shower by just being attached to me. I don't scrub them.

NOT for strip washing at the sink but instructions for the shower! :)

I am appreciating the topic not being Covid related (hurrah!) but can't really comment because I hate baths.

I use a Brillo pad twice a day. DH has a sandblaster that he uses on his buttocks but he keeps quiet about that because some people like to fap away when they hear about it.

Don’t worry about it OP . It seems that from numerous threads a lot of people on MN don’t wash their hair daily 🤢 , so you are probably not alone .

My mum used to say that lots of things don't need to be scrubbed, they just need to be 'water sweet'. I think buttocks come under that category.

Report
PandemicPalava · 10/01/2021 18:10

@SpeckledyHen I do as mine is greasy but I am sure my daily wasting makes it worse. I am jealous of my friends with drier hair who can go a few days

Were your buttocks in the bath with you?
In the water?
The soapy water?

Or do you somehow leave them jutting out over the edge of the bath?

Because having them in hot soapy water and then drying them is probably 'washing'.

I wash mine daily as it’s fine and greasy but I wish I didn’t have to! I’d like to train it to be washed less frequently but I don’t have the stamina.
I wash my buttocks daily in the shower but not at any other time.

Reminds me of when I was a student nurse in the olden days and Sister Tutor was teaching us how to perform a bed bath
