On Annual leave

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 29/12/2020 21:07

@WunWun

Are you all just on annual leave anyway or not working because of tier 4?!
I work in school so back to the “office” on Monday. I will spend a couple of hours working tomorrow and Thursday.

DH has taken annual leave this week but works from home anyway.

Nameandgamechange123 · 29/12/2020 21:11

I must be the only one that gets up early for the freezing walk then let's her kids be glued to screens for the rest of the day until bed.

CorianderQueen · 29/12/2020 21:31

Work, started back yesterday

ExpensivelyDecorated · 29/12/2020 21:36

Annual leave for both of us here, haven't taken much this year, it is nice to have some off at the same time as the DCs (teens so we don't need to save it for childcare / lockdown learning).

Vintagevixen · 29/12/2020 21:51

Dragged DD out of bed so we could take out our scooters for a long scoot along the sea front. Took the binoculars and did a bit of wave watching etc.

Takeaway coffee/chocolate looking at the view.

Pottered around the shops that are open - Robert Dyas my new favourite shop! We've also got a very lovely kitchenware shop near us that is able to still open so looked at all the nice pans/cups/crockery etc.

Came home, ordered and ate Tacos for dinner. Tidied DD's cupboard.

MotorwayDiva · 29/12/2020 21:54

Tier 3 here, but with a four year old it's not that different to tier four. We went to the playground this morning, played boardgames, watched TV, lunch, walk around muddy Park, then movies... Same as the day before, and the day before that, same as tomorrow....
Thermals, water proofs, wellies and a thermos have made outdoor trips bearable.

CarolinaWeeper · 29/12/2020 21:54

Watched far too much TV
DC did about 20 mins of colouring in and we went to the park for about 15 mins as it was freezing and started pouring with rain when we got there....FML.
Baked muffins
I did the crossword and DC read some books.

Thrilling. Wine

CarolinaWeeper · 29/12/2020 21:57

Plan for tomorrow is food shopping and clearing out the wardrobe to get some bags together to drop off at the charity clothes banks.

Chimeraforce · 29/12/2020 22:00

Opticians in the big asda for DD 14. Got sherry trifle for 50p. Lush.
Costco for loo roll, water and washing powder.
Long walk around our estate.... Same as most local families
Cheese and salad platter for dinner
Gin
Only fools n horses on loop
Gremlins
Sorting mortgage stuff

Chimeraforce · 29/12/2020 22:01

Tier 4

Lululatch · 29/12/2020 22:09

Went for a run and did yoga. Dragged dc out to walk dog. Finished tax return. Watched football. Now watching Netflix.
Dc are teens. We try to do something together everyday but otherwise they entertain themselves. Not that there are a lot of options!

shinynewapple2020 · 29/12/2020 22:17

@MusicTeacherSussex

We lay in bed playing with the cat til 10, long walk on the beach then we are making a big warm pasta dish. Later we will watch netflix and play videogames.

Do you find living on the coast helps?

Reading other posts, things sound a bit boring , but your post reads more like a holiday . To me, that is, I live a long way from the sea and am envious of people who live close . But to you, does your day seem as boring as other people's ?

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 29/12/2020 22:27

Played let's pretend mermaid for MANY hours.

And a lot of mine craft.

Then started on wine at 7pm.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 03/01/2021 17:57

Colombo fest again ... I didn’t realise there were so many episodes it’s been on ALL DAY one after the other for the last 2 or 3 days
Waiting for the World Darts Final

TheChosenTwo · 03/01/2021 18:05

I’ve been in bed poorly today but if I hadn’t, it would have been the same Groundhog Day as we’ve been living for some time!
Made some bread, gone out for a walk, come home to have a fire, read my book, play some games with the dc, had a nice dinner... and repeat Grin
Not going to lie though, we’ve had a much more chilled out and relaxing time this Christmas and new year, and as a family we’ve really enjoyed it.
Dh took the kids out today while I slept. And the day has been the same for everyone else, I’ve just been in bed!

bengalcat · 03/01/2021 18:11

Popped up to Waitrose for the Sunday Times and croissants , did zoom ballet class with Pineapple , took dog squirrel chasing in Hyde Park , dyed teenage DD hair , did second ballet class , DP doing the roast dinner , doing online Pilates yoga fusion with my gym then will have a large glass of wine and scoff dinner whilst watching TV - idyllic rest day before work tomorrow on the frontline

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 03/01/2021 18:17

Had a lie in till gone 10am
Moved the spare room round and tidied up.
Nipped to tesco.
Made home made pizza.
Now watching old episodes of supernatural contemplating getting stuff ready for work tomorrow (preschool) and getting ds's stuff ready for school.

WantChewbaccaForGood · 03/01/2021 18:34

Sorted some stuff in the garage.
Chatted to the rabbits about how sad it was that they couldn't come out today as the garden is a swamp.
Optimistically did some food shopping. Shops 1 & 2 were ok, shop 3 had a massive queue so I went home, admiring the snow covered hills.
Yesterday the DC played in the snow, it's all gone today & they've had another pyjama day with too much TV.

Lulu1919 · 03/01/2021 18:53

I sat in the sofa all day
I'm not proud
But it is what it is....I'm anxious about going back to work I'm a TA ..online tomorrow then back in fully Tuesday
I'm 52 no children at home ...can't see my two adult daughters as we are T4 😥

BillywigSting · 03/01/2021 18:59

Dps birthday today so we were supposed to be going out for tea, now changed to a takeaway.

Did a fry up for a late breakfast, none of us wanted lunch. Dp opened his presents and was happy enough.

We've all played on the switch together for a bit, my dad came down for an hour to say happy birthday and drop off cards and presents (he's part of our childcare bubble).

We put the decorations down. Would have been yesterday but I was in work 12 hours and it's a two person job getting them all back in the attic.

Been a very lazy doss about sort of day, which dp fully deserves as he runs about like a mad man most of the rest of the time and has worked his butt off over Christmas.

Watching cartoons with ds before he goes to bed and we order food.

Will probably go to bed but not necessarily to sleep early tonight

Allmyfavouritepeople · 03/01/2021 19:04

Went to work (my 2nd job)
Had lunch
Had a bath
Had tea
Watching NFL now

Tier 4 doesn't feel any different to Tier 3 which didn't feel any different to 2nd lockdown.
