Had a sleep in and watching Netflix 2020 film which is quite good.

Frantically trying to plan how to clear old house which is due to exchange and complete shortly and in a different Tier 4 area, so allowed at the moment but very scared if we go to Tier 5 and we aren't allowed down though only cupboards and 4 pieces of furniture to go - cupboards are full of rubbish and furnture needs bringing back here but car is tiny so that's 3 trips minimum. DH is just on his way down now.

LoudBatPerson · 29/12/2020 14:13

I have a horrid headache so I am in bed, mumsnetting and eating malteasers.

Apart from that I would probably find another cupboard to reorganise (for the umpteenth time) just for something to do.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 29/12/2020 14:21

I wondered how one person had managed to row on here and another managed to swim and felt very jealous but then I realised it was a row not rowing and the other person was in South Africa. Xmas Grin

sanityisamyth · 29/12/2020 14:25

Alert level 4 here (Wales) but have played card games with DS, taken him out for a spin on his new bike and cooked lunch. He's building Lego this afternoon which he got for his birthday yesterday.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/12/2020 14:29

DH worked last night, so is in bed. DS1 upstairs gaming in bedroom. DS2 pretending not to keep falling asleep on sofa.
I'm on the other sofa with the cat. I'm reading, cat isn't.

Charles11 · 29/12/2020 14:30

Dcs got up late, did some school work (desperate times), now about you go for a walk.
After that, the plan is baking, gaming, dinner and film.

Twobrews · 29/12/2020 14:30

Planning garden makeover,
Making soup,
Trying to ignore the piles of opened Christmas gifts and recycling everywhere,
Wrapping gifts that have finally arrived,
Helping DS3 build his Lego empire,
Trying not to be annoyed by DH,
Laundry,
Encouraging people to eat cheese,
Vacuuming,
Reading,
Playing switch games with DC,
Walking later,
Need to go out for milk and butter.

ProfYaffle · 29/12/2020 14:36
  • abandoned a trip to the Post Office as the queue was around the market place
  • Played an escape room on the Occulus (Xmas present)
  • Raided Heroes tub
  • About to start making flat breads
  • Make curry for tea to go with the afore mentioned flat breads

We do a lot of walking (dh and I , not the teens) but we're lucky to live in a rural area and haven't repeated a walk since the first lock down was lifted.

SimonJT · 29/12/2020 14:37

Not a lot, we’ve been on two dog walks, I did some speaker button training earlier.

At 4 we’re going to the playpark then we’re going to walk to collect my partner from work, as I’m feeling lazy we’re having takeaway tonight.

Bunnyrun5 · 29/12/2020 14:40

I’m waiting to be arrested... by the chocolate police for overeating with no conscience! I’ve eaten two walnut whips back to back now opened the Thornton’. Hubby in garden clearing leaves all very worthy but I can’t be arsed to do anything. I feel lethargic, unmotivated and thoroughly fed up. Sorry for moans x

FreeButtonBee · 29/12/2020 14:42

Played bingo
DS and DH went for a run
Roasted some veg
Made some mince pies
Had lunch
Went for a cycle (all of us)
Played top trumps
Did some laundry
Read each other Christmas jokes

We are holding out til 3pm for screen time!

Then 5.30 dinner, baths and bed.

It’s been a long (although not unpleasant Christmas hols) - just a bit of a lack of variety and so dirty )small terrace house it’s no garage/side entrance 😬

FinallyHere · 29/12/2020 14:45

Waitrose delivery first thing

Put away

Breakfast and pottering

10.30 walk with friend

Bit of a sit down, followed by shower & putting a load of washing on and catching up with priorities MN

Answered ahead of letters from HMRC / lawyers re late DF's estate. Life admin while I was at my desk.

Plan next to turn out the shelves to clear out old papers now seldom used.

Shall be downstairs around 6pm for a drink & to watch DH cook

I've been WFH very productively but have been v v busy. Now enjoying this time twixt Christmas and New Year, when I hardly know what day it was.

LegoAndLolDolls · 29/12/2020 14:48

Went into city to pay cheques in as no Santander anywhere near me now. I walked through M&S as it's a short cut and had at the sales, bought nothing as keep reminding myself I have no life now so dont need anything new. Plus I'm aiming to not buy any clothes this year except uniforms and kids shoes if needed.

I want to go out for a long walk before it gets dark. I feel like shit. Feels like I'm aching all over and cant decide if I'm getting stiff or need a new bed, or both

TheDogsMother · 29/12/2020 14:50

Long lie in and a long walk. I'm finally listing some items on eBay that have been sitting around for a year. You think I would had some spare time in 2020 to do this Grin. Carry on with the new jigsaw later then TV. Zzzzzzz

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 29/12/2020 14:51

I'm finding it all hard to get the motivation to do anything at all. We have been in the house since Christmas. I just hope and pray Spring brings an end to this hermit life!..

gettingolderbutcooler · 29/12/2020 14:52

Fuck all

😬

FreeButtonBee · 29/12/2020 14:53

I will say that life with small children has improved immeasurably since youngest turns 5 and can actually go on a proper walk. We went to Bushey Park yesterday and stomped on all the icy puddles, looked at the deer, ran around loads and did 15 mins in the park ground at the end (ie it wasn’t the sole focus of the trip) and it was great. Cold and muddy but everyone is old enough to follow instructions and talk off muddy stuff when back at the car. Splashing out on walking boots for the kids this summer was also really great - much better than wellies.

If only I had remembered to bring my own coat 🥶I did have 3 layers on and a hat and gloves but it was a bit nippy.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 29/12/2020 14:53

What would you all be doing if weren’t in this shite situation?

I’d prob be having a pub lunch by an open fire, at our lovely local pub with DH as we’re both on leave. Or possibly away for a couple of nights.

That’s depressed me now, might go back to work (from home) tomorrow as I don’t really see the point of all this free time and nowhere to go.

hopingforonlychild · 29/12/2020 15:07

@BigSandyBalls2015 I would be staying at a 5 star hotel in Singapore. my long awaited wedding reception (which also includes a complimentary stay) was booked for the 27th and they kindly let us postpone it till next June. Now cos of the mutated virus, DH is banned from Singapore as a British citizen and I can only return if I quarantine for 2 weeks in a hotel. Grrrr

CrochetBug · 29/12/2020 15:09

What would you all be doing if weren’t in this shite situation?

Pretty much what I'm doing now (tv and crochet). Only difference is Mum wouldn't be here as she usually goes away for new year.

foreverandalways · 29/12/2020 15:09

Bored honestly and really down in the dumps...it's taking me longer to get ready to go out atm than the actual time I am actually outside...such a strange way of living....husband is cooking a joint of meat...again....then dinner and a film....exciting times....not...roll on the spring and slightly warmer weather

megletthesecond · 29/12/2020 15:10

Same as every day. Walk and run, as long as possible if the sun is out. Tidy up.

reluctantbrit · 29/12/2020 15:10

Back to work for me. DH is working on some paperwork we pushed away for weeks and DD is a teen who is either sleeping, pretending to clean her room or on the electronics.

Tomorrow she is at the riding stable, at least some fresh air.

MrsDThomas · 29/12/2020 15:13

10 mile walk this morning with my friend
Made lunch
Cleaned the house as much as I could with decorations still up
Just made breakfast muffins and ginna pop out for another quick walk with DD before tea.

Back at work tomorrow.

trilbydoll · 29/12/2020 15:17

The kids have put on swimming costumes and spread a blanket out on the floor. They're playing swimming lessons, it's a tragic sight.

DH is working. I'm waiting to speak to Virgin to try and reduce our bill.

We haven't left the house today, maybe we will tomorrow. Tbh even if we weren't in tier 4 it might not have been much different, although I might have taken the kids real life swimming.
