Finishing off handmade cards with previously abandoned ideas.

Wotrewelookinat · 29/12/2020 19:13

Swim in the local river for me, dog walk for DH, then we all (including the teens!) went for a walk on a local beach. Feel so lucky to live near the coast.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 29/12/2020 19:24

Walk through the woods. Phone chat with elderly neighbour. Couple of board games. Just put some home made sausage rolls in the oven. Video call with DD scheduled for later and then probably some more board games while eating sausage rolls and drinking wine.

Not actually a lot different to this time of year usually to be honest. Apart from the fact that the walk would usually have been with friends and I would have actually visited the neighbour instead of just calling her.

HundredMilesAnHour · 29/12/2020 19:35

I walked into town (50 mins) and met a friend. We walked along the Thames, had a (takeaway) coffee then wandered round Borough Market buying sausage rolls from The Ginger Pig and cakes and bread from Bread Ahead. Then some mulled wine on our way out that we sat and drank on a wall by the Thames opposite the Globe. We walked along the South Bank to Westminster then over to St James' Park for a lap, along Whitehall and on to Trafalgar Square (so quiet!) then walked up Regent St and down Oxford Street before splitting up and heading home. Now home preparing for "Zoom drinks" with a lot of people despite really wishing I could give it a miss.

Finished upcycling a vivid orange pine chest of drawers I got free on nextdoor. Now optic white, grey marble handles, black feet, drawers lined in grey and lilac fur-look paper.

Waited for Amazon for 5th day running, all items arrived broken.

Argument with cat re pet portion control.

Had a bath, which I begrudge as not dirty. 6 loads of washing not drying now. Scrubbed out rank hoover and put Zoflora in so it doesn't smell of sick.

How the hell do I hang a star-shaped scarf? Had a glorious Pucci one for Xmas.

ReesMoggsGlasses · 29/12/2020 19:53

Drove to a stately home with v large grounds and walked outdoors/let the kids play in playground and climb trees, had a take out coffee, drive home

There are those who'd call that selfish and irresponsible but I could give a fig, I need to stay sane and alive.

NeedWineNow · 29/12/2020 19:59

Sorted out our travel insurance.
Watched The Bridge over The River Kwai ( I'd never seen it - I love a good war film)
By complete contrast watched Frozen straight after
Just done a virtual Zumba class and DH is just in the process of putting on the pasta for Spag Bol

Missteebeee · 29/12/2020 20:13

Working

I’m a nanny

CormoranStrike · 29/12/2020 20:25

Scottish level four here - worked from home, did a dog walk at lunch, played a board game and am now about to read my kindle and be asleep by ten

WunWun · 29/12/2020 20:26

Are you all just on annual leave anyway or not working because of tier 4?!

janetmendoza · 29/12/2020 20:27

Working from home with telephone consultations - not super for my patients but no other option. And gone to Asda

fudgecat · 29/12/2020 20:28

Today's walk was sunny and involved ducks! Tomorrow will be another duck based walk.... Even the ducks looked fed up today

HundredMilesAnHour · 29/12/2020 20:40

I'm on annual leave. My dept were 'strongly encouraged' to use leave (even though there's sweet fa to do in Tier 4) as they don't want people hoarding leave to use when Covid is under control.

underneaththeash · 29/12/2020 20:42

God, it's boring isn't it.
I finished filling in my volunteer application for be a vaccinator and then did housework, we took dog for a walk (as usual), cooked a leftover cheese and turkey quiche, played a game and watched an unsuitable film - which was then switched off and we watched Harry Potter. I then cooked (as usual) and washed up and I'm going to bed.

Oh we did decorate some biscuits too.....

underneaththeash · 29/12/2020 20:43

I also did my Duolingo streak and the meal plan for January.

HarrietPotterska · 29/12/2020 20:45

Went to work (nhs). DH and DD hung about the house doing various bits and bobs. Cooked dinner, watched some
TV

NeedWineNow · 29/12/2020 20:45

Same here, in annual leave. Even pre Covid I try and get Christmas off. My dad died on New Year's Eve so I try not work that day.

HarrietPotterska · 29/12/2020 20:46

DH is a teacher so both he and DD back at school on Monday

CosmicComfort · 29/12/2020 20:49

So DH and I are working, him from the dining table, me out of the house.
Teenage DS’s are ensconced in their rooms.
I had 3 days off and went for one local walk: no one was making any effort to socially distance except us and I got fed up.
Other than that I have spent my days crocheting which is lovely.
I feel very relieved to have older kids who don’t want or need entertaining!

laudemio · 29/12/2020 20:52

Went for a walk, ate leftovers, read books, played games, made some things out of boxes.

PurpleFrames · 29/12/2020 20:52

Sorted out boxes in the attic
Listed items on eBay
Went to post office
Went on a walk

SilenceOfThePrams · 29/12/2020 20:56

Twattergy · 29/12/2020 20:57

Online shopping (nice bath oils, a wool blanket, a whistles top) figure no meals or drinks out etc I've got the cash available.
Bit of cooking.
Local walk w DS to small local shop.
Avoiding alcohol for first time in a week!
May treat myself to a trip to Waitrose tomorrow....wooooo.

sociallydistained · 29/12/2020 20:59

Went to work but I'm a Nanny so essentially what everyone else is doing, dragging kids out for a cold bloody walk and climbing the walls otherwise.

Jano69 · 29/12/2020 21:00

Tried to tidy up. Put a load of washing on and hung it up. Went for a 5m woodland walk with 19 yo DS, defrosted a chilli and shared a bottle of decent red wine with hubby. Watching trash on TV. Wishing to better times to come.
