A laptop for £600 , shouldn't have bothered , awful thing.

A heated airer as recommended on here. Blinking huge and I need to keep moving the clothes round so the whole thing dries rather than just a section.

Bread maker
Ice cream maker

Both seemed like a good idea but are so big they need to be kept in the cupboard which means they rarely get remembered.

praepondero · 23/12/2020 09:22

Omega watch for my ex; it looked rather swish in the shop and wasn't cheap, however, it was all wrong on him. Confused

SimplyRadishing · 23/12/2020 09:22

@thenewaveragebear1983

My Philips lumea. Everyone raves about them on here but it just doesn't work for me, and I get bored. It's too long between uses and i have to start the whole process again. I've decided to give it one last chance and if no improvement to my beard then sell it on eBay
This. It's also on its last whirl with me.

Would have been the Dyson hairdryer but I tried it at a fancy spinning gym I went to and realised it was nothing special pre-purchase.

Also my £500 shark. It's no better than my bissel and we have had 3 cleaners who all refuse to use it and instead damage the skirting drag the bissel up and down 3 floors 🤷‍♀️

Therealmrsclaus · 23/12/2020 09:23

A DFS sofa bed cost a £1000 it's the most uncomfortable sofa ever the cushions don't sit right and it's like it's pushing you off!! And as for sleeping on it!! You would have a better nights sleep if you slept on the floor!! Would never recommend them to anyone!!

Springersrock · 23/12/2020 09:24

My sofa

I’ve always wanted a blue velvet Chesterfield. I nagged and nagged for years and finally convinced DH last year

OMG, it’s as uncomfortable as fuck.

Also, Dyson hair wrap. I was convinced it would give me the hair of my dreams - to be fair, it does, but it’s faff that I generally cba with in the mornings. I spent so long going on about the bloody thing, and why it would be so much better than any of the other 101 hair gubbins that I already own, I feel a bit resentful towards it now

MandalaYogaTapestry · 23/12/2020 09:25

treeeemendous I happen to have a tip about the use of the air drier. I load it up folding the clothes at least 2-fold and leave it on overnight. No moving around. It does just need to have the clothes inside for long enogh. It even dries folded towels. I got a Lakeland one and I have the cover too.

treeeeemendous · 23/12/2020 09:29

@MandalaYogaTapestry I have the Lakeland one too. Interesting about folding I'd not thought of that. I tend to find all the clothes just have the middle section dried Confused we do have a cold house though. I don't have the cover but use a large sheet. I can't bring myself to invest more in the cover when the thing annoys me so much!

lollipoprainbow · 23/12/2020 09:35

My air fryer after my friend raved about hers ! All I cook in it is nuggets and chips for my dd!!

Bells3032 · 23/12/2020 09:41

My flat. Met my now DH six months later. Bought the flat at the height of the property boom...now selling for £20k less than i paid for it and it's caused me no end of hassle.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 23/12/2020 09:48

Mine is my house too...built in 1800 its a money pit and i dont have the funds or know how to maintain it...next house is going to be low maintenance.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 23/12/2020 09:49

Another one for my flat. It's a money pit and a have no end of lease / freeholder issues.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 23/12/2020 09:55

Crock pot to replace the slow cooker from sainsburys. The sainsburys one was better.

Applesonthelawn · 23/12/2020 09:58

Dyson hairdryer - complete waste of money. No different to an average hair dryer and overheats after a minute, so pointless when you have as much hair as I have.
Two Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners, bought the second one because assumed I was just unlucky with the first, but no, that lasted about three months too.
No more Dyson for us.

Superstardjs · 23/12/2020 10:01

A Snug armchair. It looks beautiful but is like sitting on a pew.

Grinnypig · 23/12/2020 10:08

A pair of leather sofas chosen by DH. Cost around £4000. Uncomfortable unless they’d been freshly plumped up and looked all saggy. Had to keep them for years because of the cost. I picked our new ones 😉
I’m surprised about the hate for the Dyson hairdryer. Love mine. Also really like cordless Dyson. Think it’s a V10.

Makegoodchoices · 23/12/2020 10:13

Shark cordless vacuum - cloys consrantly and has to be taken apart and cleaned in 4 different places. I now avoid vacuuming so I don’t have to deal with the useless thing.

ShimmeringIce · 23/12/2020 10:19

Everyone with Dysons that overheat and have no suction, you need to clean the filters!

BrassicaBabe · 23/12/2020 10:20

@Makegoodchoices Yes! Delicate little fucker! I've given up and gone back to the Henry.

twilightermummy · 23/12/2020 10:30

Cordless Dyson V10. It's an absolute piece of shit. I charge it all night and it still dies after just about managing to complete the living room. The filters need cleaning every other day too and then it's working out which filter. At first I thought I had a fault machine and Argos replaced it but the second one is exactly the same. I bought a £90 Vax the other day - bliss!

Sideorderofchips · 23/12/2020 10:36

Marriage

Meowmeow2020 · 23/12/2020 10:36

My sons bed 4k. Its a sen bed tho

crumbsnamechange · 23/12/2020 10:41

Flat. It has potential cladding issues so I can't be bought out of it until those are resolved (years away?)

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/12/2020 10:43

My ex cost me a lot of money. Totally not worth it. My divorce was also expensive. Worth every money.....

KonTikki · 23/12/2020 10:43

I bought a beautiful Triumph Stag in the '70s for £1800, a whole lot of money then.
The engine kept overheating, I could literally drive and watch the temp gauge go through the limits until I kept having to stop and let the engine cool.
After 6 months the car blew up on me on the Autobahn outside Frankfurt.
I left it smoking on the hard shoulder and hitched home. Never went back for it and have no idea what became of it.
But it did look absolutely gorgeous Grin

CrypticQueen · 23/12/2020 10:45

A Victoria Beckham dress. Worn twice. Can’t bear to sell it because it cost so much, but probably won’t wear it either. Urghh.
