@RosesAndHellebores

Rover 416i Two engines blew; one just before 12 months and one 2.5 years after that. They did replace the second one but part exchanged it for peanuts two years later.

They became notorious.

Bet it had the shitty K series engine that went through head gaskets for fun.

I agree with those saying the philips lumea. Others rave about them on here but I didn't have the patience or time, it used to take forever. That was before kids as well, so I definitely would never get round to using it now.

Annoyingly I left it too long between uses so the battery died and I couldn't even sell it!

The Bugaboo Chameleon sounds faulty. I’d contact them. We have had ours almost 6 years and it is still excellent. It is big and bulky compared to some which is why we bought it-we wanted off road type wheels but it is light and smooth to manoeuvre.

I too have to say our most recent Dyson vacuum. It has been serviced and fixed and eventually replaced entirely by Dyson but it is still crap. It just doesn’t seem to have enough suction. Got a corded Shark and the difference is vast. Waiting to get a tip slot so we can get rid of it.

Cigarettes. Spent waaayyy too much on smoking over the years & I'm so happy I dropped this unhealthy and very expensive habit.

ivykaty44 · 28/12/2020 08:08

Soup maker

Gave it to a neighbour as his broke & he lives it

ivykaty44 · 28/12/2020 08:13

@LaBellina I’ve saved £23,725 since giving up smoking 13 years ago
I did take out gym membership at the same time in a luxury golf club and used this 4/5 x per week since it’s cost me £11, 700 over 13 years far cheaper than the smoking

PollyDarton1 · 28/12/2020 08:35

Apple Watch (albeit a gift) - have to charge it every 28 hours, constantly flashing up low battery. DH got me a Fitbit for Christmas and its tonnes better.

luckylavender · 28/12/2020 08:37

A Gaggia coffee machine

Gotenoughthanks · 28/12/2020 08:55

My very fitted wedding dress. Didn't cost much compared to some, but all in about £2k. Hurt to sit down, couldn't breathe properly, gave me indigestion as couldn't eat it was so tight, and also regret showing so much cleavage. Wish I'd gone for a more modest look. Wince when I see the photos. Wish I'd chosen the other beautiful princess ball gown type instead 😭

LaBellina · 28/12/2020 12:27

@ivykaty44 good for you!
I've spent what I saved on skincare I think 😂

Allamericanreject · 28/12/2020 12:47

My Hoover cordless vacuum, useless didn't sick up anything. Had it a year and bought a £25 stick vacuum from Argos...much better.
Also my Hoover tumble dryer. Kepts breaking and leaking..spent £150 on parts (even within warranty as "wear and tear") and it's only 2 years old.

Mind made up I'm never getting another Hoover appliance again.

Icequeen01 · 28/12/2020 14:19

A beautiful brand new Audi A5 sport back car. My DH, who has a back problem, fell in love with it in a showroom. I tried to talk sense into him about it being too low for his back and also my poor elderly mother would not be able to get in and out of it (to be fair I had a car which was higher up for her but it still meant she could only go in one of our cars) but he just wouldn't listen. He had the car for about 9 months and then suggested that we should swap cars as he couldn't drive his regularly because it was hurting his back!😡 It was far too big for me so we had to sell it and lost a LOT of money.

He now owns what he describes as an age appropriate car 😀

Madbengalmum · 28/12/2020 14:44

Miele appliances in general, had dishwasher/washer/drier/steam oven and built in coffee all had to be seen to by miele very quickly after purchase, rubbish. Fisher&Paykel also awful appliances especially the ovens.

Feetoflead · 28/12/2020 14:49

Another vote for the dyson air wrap

Daftasabroom · 28/12/2020 15:03

A fast Fiat. Great until the day after warranty was spent. Toyota's for ever now, 263,000m and counting.

makingmiracles · 28/12/2020 15:52

A samsung tv some years ago, cost around £450 and only last 2 yrs when i decided to use the headphone function, the jack broke and then the tv would not produce any sound so got rid.

My beko fridge freezer, only 2 yrs old, we bought in with xmas vouchers, Argos delivery people snagged my stairs carpet in several places(upstairs flat) and dented the first one, had to send out another. Worked for about a year until it then started freezing veg and anything placed too close to the back of it. It’s recently started making hideous noises too so saving for a replacement.

My car, 7 seater, only 26k on clock when we bought it(for 7k) and in the 4 years we’ve had it we’ve spent 2k+ on repairs, bloody parts have to be ordered in from Germany so any repair means it off the road for weeks at a time, its the bane of my life.

My Russell Hobbs 4 slice toaster, it only seems to toast on one side so you ha to turn the bead halfway through and one pair of slots toasts way quicker than the other two so if they are on the same settings 2 slices come out burnt!

I don’t seem to have much joy with appliances etc!

yahyahs22 · 28/12/2020 15:59

My wedding

MaisyMary77 · 28/12/2020 16:23

A £250 Mauviel copper frying pan. I used it twice. Didn’t like it. Then I got an induction job so I can’t use it anyway.

Bronzino · 28/12/2020 16:46

My all bells and whistles Magimix, spent a fortune on it and all the attachments. Utterly overwhelmed by it, so I gave it away and decided that if only I’d bought the Compact I’d have been whizzing all day long. I did buy the Compact. It sits untouched, and has done for last three years.

Bralessandfree · 28/12/2020 17:39

Fillers. Dont look any different. I am a feminist but... I really wanted fillers!
And second the dualit toaster..it only made toast.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 28/12/2020 20:51

.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 28/12/2020 20:52

Bosch washing machine. What a fucking nightmare.

hesterstanhope · 28/12/2020 22:14

@WitchQueenofDarkness

Louboutin shoes. Cost an absolute fortune and I can't wear them outside or the red soles scratch.
Apparently the thing to do is to send them out to have red rubber attached to the soles. There are specialist shoe repairers who do it!
Justonedayatatime11 · 28/12/2020 22:46

My Mulberry bag. It's absolutely beautiful, but I'm too scared to use it in case it gets marked Hmm

Madbengalmum · 29/12/2020 12:07

WitchQueen, why can’t you wear Louboutins outside? I have always worn mine outside, the only scratches are on the part of the sole you can’t see. The red remains in perfect condition on the rest of the shoe you can see.
