A Maria Tash 6.5mm White Gold Diamond Demi Eternity Threaded Stud. Only came out recently, going for £550 on Liberty website. I got mine off eBay for £425. It's pretty, but tiny and definitely not worth £425. I didn't like the way it looked and ended up re-selling it on eBay for £200...

im5050 · 23/12/2020 22:47

A Oak Mulberry Bayswater handbag cost about £1000
I’ve used it maybe 3 -4 times for funerals and weddings 😂 I keep thinking I will sell it but I never get around to doing it
I much prefer my Mia Tui bags that cost £50
and I can actually find what I want in it
The matching purse was £300 and that’s been used every day since I bought it so well worth the money

hedgehogrose · 23/12/2020 22:53

My Land Rover, don't get me wrong it's a good car but has its issues which annoy me considering the cost of it.

Recently got the Lumea, fingers crossed it works for me

Hetty hoover, I loved my old Henry but this is nowhere near as good. I just bought a Beldry stick one for £21 and it's amazing.
I love my beldray stick one. Light to use, easy to empty and for a little cheapie does a pretty good job
Atalune · 23/12/2020 23:05

Henry hoover. He sucks like billio but he is stupid wanker at coming round the corner. He tips over and gets the cable tangled. The long metal pole comes off periodically too and it’s all a bit too long and cumbersome.

However he does clean well so until he packs in I’m not buying a new one.

mellicauli · 23/12/2020 23:06

I bought a fitbit for my son for Christmas last year. Still can't get it to work.

Toototwo · 23/12/2020 23:15

Miele dishwasher. Died a month after the warranty ended. So upset. I have found all the more expensive toasters/kettles do the same. Have now learned my lesson and either buy cheap and replaceable or get an extended guarantee.

Dualit toaster Cooked the toast unevenly and broke after a few years. Cheap Tesco one was better!
Dualit toaster here too. Dh wanted one for ages and when our £12 supermarket own brand one broke we decided we could have one as can afford it now. Previously never really had enough money. The worst toaster I have ever owned - either part toasted or burnt toast - cannot seem to toast a full slice of bread.
coronafiona · 23/12/2020 23:28

My bathroom from victoriaplim.com.
Shit.

RosesAndHellebores · 23/12/2020 23:32

I bought furniture for a shower room once from Victoria Plum. I thought is was fairly inexpensive but the quality was abysmal. Homemade and Wicked are better.

Wagsandclaws · 23/12/2020 23:32

@coronafiona I'm glad you said as was looking at their baths today for our new bathroom I was planning next year 😅

danadas · 23/12/2020 23:33

Samsung Ecobubble, cost a grand. Broke after 3 years but luckily was insured so they replaced it. That one died after 2 years so sent it the tip and now have a 400 one that does the job.

SEE123 · 23/12/2020 23:34

Designer shawl - falling apart after a few months. Refused repair/refund/replacement as it's apparently "wear & tear" is used it a handful of times. Never again.

Toototwo · 23/12/2020 23:36

This thread is far more helpful than the customer reviews on the websites...

kaleishorrid · 23/12/2020 23:37

@Knittingnanny

I always wanted a Remoska from Lakeland Used it about three times, and burnt the food it was supposed to be cooking beautifully and tenderly. Also an expensive mattress which bore no resemblance to the one I laid on in the shop. So hard I had to sleep on blankets, toppers, anything I could try. They wouldn’t take it back and I had to sell it for £100 when it had cost me over £500.
I love my remoska
tumpymummy · 23/12/2020 23:45

I actually like my Dyson hairdryer too! I dont think it was worth the pricetag but it was a nice 50th birthday present. I normally let my hair dry naturally but if i use the hairdryer it does dry my thick hair quickly and it stays much straighter for longer. My worst expensive purchase was a pair of jeans for £60. I kidded myself that even though they were a little big tight they would get more comfortable with time.

tumpymummy · 23/12/2020 23:47

Oh and we've had a Dualit toaster for years and it works really well. One time (years ago) when something went wrong with it they sent us the new bit for free. It must have been used daily for at least 10 years, probably 15.

strawbmilk · 23/12/2020 23:48

I agree. Someone told me dualit fixed them, looked on the website & got the details and posted it off for £15. Got a letter back saying they didn't fix my model. It did say this on the website but not very clearly. So I've no toaster and it cost me a further £15 🤬
tumpymummy · 24/12/2020 00:02

Thankyou @Im5050 thanks for the info on Mia Tui bags, they look great. Just out of interest which do you have? Im tempted by the Zoe or the Sofia?

Preparefortheflaming · 24/12/2020 00:05

@dollyknocker

Also agree with Dualit toaster! Has never toasted evenly now the dial sticks so you have to constantly watch the fecking thing or it just carries on toasting forever.
New dial costs about 7 quid and easy to fix. Best thing I did as was getting dangerous
FightingFiles · 24/12/2020 00:16

This fecking mattress I'm lying on now. Apparently it's only half memory foam which means I shouldn't wake up screaming in agony, and yet...

Just got back from a holiday cottage with no memory foam, just lovely springs, and realised this isn't how I have to live. I can not be in pain.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 24/12/2020 07:34

A cordless Dyson. No auction at all and goes flat after half a room

Yes! £500 down the drain and I loathe it. My sister loves hers but I want a plug in with power!

Boiledeggandtoast · 24/12/2020 08:21

A Lacanche Cluny cooker. It looked beautiful but everything that could go wrong with it did - elements, fan, lights, door hinges, door seal, etc. The thermostat used to trip on a regular basis too.

We now have a Falcon which is marvellous.

Elle200 · 24/12/2020 08:28

Buying land for horses, which cost £90,000... and will need ploughed up and reseeded before it's any use. And we don't have any horses at the moment, probably a good job.

A private number plate on Ebay one late night, £530, aided by some pushy red wine. Have never used it to this day....

Don't tell me, I already know, I'm an idiot.

SpeckledyHen · 24/12/2020 08:30

Dyson stick vacuum. It was reduced from £320 to £180 , I was seduced by the bargain price and had loyalty vouchers to us , and it is crap . Only runs for 10 minutes and is a bastard to empty.

On a positive note when the battery packed up 6 months outside the warranty period but they did replace it for free. At least I can moan about it for another 2 years :)
