A laptop for £600 , shouldn't have bothered , awful thing.

My friend spent £1000 on a coat the other day, walked straight through a hedge and that was it. Feathery stuff all over the woods and no more coat after a day.

Probably our current house. We bought it 6 years ago when it was 20 years old, not really realising that everything in it was also 20 years old. Since moving in we've had to replace the boiler, the double oven, the dishwasher, 2 showers, 3 misted up window panes, the garage door, the front door and most of the carpets. Oh and a toilet.

We won't need to do anything to it! We'd thought to ourselves when we compared it to the 1930s house we were also considering Hmm

I don't really regret it though I suppose...it's in the perfect location for us.

coronafiona · 24/12/2020 10:00
@coronafiona I'm glad you said as was looking at their baths today for our new bathroom I was planning next year 😅
Don't do it. I've had it 6 months and already the toilet seat and bath plug are broken. And aren't easily replaceable due to the design. And the fact you can't phone anyone is absolutely infuriating. Angry

Stillfunny · 24/12/2020 10:22

@Specklyhen. Make sure the setting is not always on Max if you dont need it. That makes the battery run down much faster.

PattyPan · 24/12/2020 10:48

Surprised to see so many people mentioning Dualit toasters, we had them in our uni halls and I thought it was because they were indestructible! I’ve been considering buying one lately because I haven’t found another toaster with a bagel setting.

Graffitiqueen · 24/12/2020 11:06

LG washing machine. Was endless bother and cost a fortune as no local tradesmen would touch it. Such a relief to finally decide enough was enough. My £250 zanussi is way better!

beguilingeyes · 24/12/2020 11:10

A top-of- the-range, all bells and whistles Fitbit Ionic. Died completely when it was just out of warranty. I now have a Garmin Forerunner which is fantastic,

IDontMindMarmite · 24/12/2020 11:57

Great thread. Although it's the first time I've heard negative feedback about air fryers and roombas.

For me, the slow cooker was a waste of money. Nothing tasted even choose to add good as when I slaved over the hob/oven. Same with the pressure cooker too really although a whole chicken does cook fast and falls apart which is great for soups.

peaceanddove · 24/12/2020 11:58

A 10 year old rare, limited edition Mini Cooper. God, she was pretty, but sooooooo delicate and princessy. She spent more time in the garage than on our drive.

Atalune · 24/12/2020 12:06

@user1471565182 I need more information! That’s so funny!

user1471538283 · 24/12/2020 16:22

One of our houses. I've lost money, sleep and some of my mental health on that sodding thing.

delilahbucket · 24/12/2020 16:24

Wireless charger in the car. There's £100 we'll never get back.
Our kitchen worktops from IKEA. They scratch and dent so easily.

trumpisaflump · 24/12/2020 16:25

@PattyPan I love my Dualit toaster. We got one for a wedding present 13 years ago, use it every day and it's still in perfect working condition. Shit it's going to break now I've said that isn't it 😂

BlueStarRose · 24/12/2020 16:29

Our house. 2 nightmare neighbours. Loads of things wrong with it (large hole in roof). Any work to repair is really expensive because the original job was done by a “cowboy”. If the previous owners weren’t abroad (they told us they sold because of this after a year of renting (guarantee that was not the case) I would have sued them for lying in their forms.

BeautifulandWilfulandDead · 24/12/2020 16:29

@BrassicaBabe I have one of these too Confused

OutedByHobby · 24/12/2020 16:31

Dualit toaster is shit. So is the kettle which takes half an hour to boil.

Roberts radio ditto. Tinny sound, technology outdated within five minutes of purchase.

Miele washer and dryer cycles take bastard hours, and when they break down it’s weeks to get them fixed from an approved supplier.

JanewaysBun · 24/12/2020 16:37

@thenewaveragebear1983 you need to use the lumea wayyyy more than it suggests
Start off with every week

DuesToTheDirt · 24/12/2020 16:40

Not mine but both Dbro and I thought frail DM buying GTech cordless vacuum after DF died was a plan. Fucking thing lived for about a year

Bought my mum one of these for Christmas a few years ago. She us very hard to buy for and is always dissatisfied with her presents, but I think this was her favourite ever present. Confused

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 24/12/2020 16:49

Cordless shark. It's known as that bastard thing now , forever blocking

Lurkingforawhile · 24/12/2020 16:56

I know it's not the point, but can I mention the small claims court and your statutory rights. It's super easy to do online, not expensive, and some of the examples here would seem to fit!

BrassicaBabe · 24/12/2020 16:57

Yep. New born babies are less delicate. Swore at mine again this afternoon when I thought I'd give the bastarding thing another chance.
im5050 · 24/12/2020 16:58

@ tumpymummy
Well 😂😂😂 I haven’t yet got the Sofia .it’s on my list and I want it in Sage green 😁.
But my everyday bag is the Eleanor or the Zoe which is slightly bigger and I switch between them
I love the tan colour as it goes with everything but I’m not to fond of any of the bags in the colour black
The camel & olive green colours are gorgeous and the metallic grey is also really nice
But bag wise I also have the Mini Jen & the Lenny for travelling .
Maya backpack ( A Christmas present )
Samantha
Jane
Rebecca & Isobel which are the small clutch type ones
The mini Jen is good a a baby / travel bag as well
On the website they do bundles so you can often get 2 different bags for under £50 if you use the code that’s on the site and they always have a code for at least 20 percent off
Their customer service is excellent on both the website and Facebook
Don’t bother with paying for postage as the standard free postage is excellent
I love them because they have proper spaces inside for everything but the bags never feel cluttered
You also get a mini type clutch bag that fits inside the bag which is big enough for make up and stuff
They are also fine for anyone who is a vegan - not an issue for me but I know it can be for some people .

Carouselfish · 24/12/2020 16:58

Yes to laptop. Its worse than my old one
And technically my cruiser. I had a baby soon after buying it and lost my nerve. It's sat in a garage for five years. But I enjoyed looking at its chrome and smelling its leather when it was out that first summer. And it fulfilled a lifelong wish to own one, so...

Therssalwaysachoice · 24/12/2020 16:59

My sofa. Looks great but really uncomfortable. Yes, I stupidly bought it online

draughtycatflap · 24/12/2020 17:07

A beautiful Italian designer stove top kettle. It was a perfect ball shape with an elegant handle. It was over a hundred quid a few years back and had to be specially ordered. It looked the biz in our new kitchen. Unfortunately the note with it advised not to allow the gas flames to burn too high over the base of the bowl. It didn’t take long to forget and whack the gas on high for a cuppa. It melted the handle and lid. Useless style over substance rubbish!
