What’s with massive pants?

Ok so turning 50. I wear pants. Never thongs, see through knickers at the weekends but normally just back or white normal cotton bikini pants.

What’s going to happen that means I need “massive” pants?

I’m scared. I can do periods, piles and white pubic hair but pretty worried by the dark secrecy around massive pants. Just tell me....

Most other knickers seem to have very narrow gussets. I don't like shaving and when I have a period the pad is wider than the gusset. This results in an impromptu wax as I walk across the supermarket carpark. Big knickers have wider gussets that cover all the sticky side of the pad and therefore no ripping out of pubes occurs.

Also they are comfy and keep your bum warm.

@Pipandmum

They are not 'huge'. They are the same as yours but longer line. A size 6 knicker is a size 6 whether it's a thong, bikini, midi or full brief. It's a different style, not size.
Don’t be obtuse. I’m talking about an actual style. Up to the waist, wide around the hip, total bum coverage. As in “ huge” or “massive” in style.

My mum is a size 8/10. I am a size 14, my pants are smaller, as in less material. What’s the issue with huge?

I switched to huge pants after having children. Because they are comfortable and I can't be bothered not to be comfortable any more. Also, no vpl and they don't disappear up my bum when running.

I’ve worn full briefs since my mid twenties (I was a size 8, flat stomach, curvy butt, no scars, nothing needing flattening). I got sick of fabric finding it’s way between my arse cheeks walking about. I will never go back to midi briefs etc. If men complain my pants aren’t sexy (and they have) they are told to readjust their attitude sharp!

Crapbuttrue · 04/12/2020 21:58

@VenusClapTrap I want your gran 😂

EnglishRain · 04/12/2020 21:59

I got big M&S pants for after my c section and have been wearing them since two months before! They're soooo comfy. I don't think they're unattractive either tbh. I still have a bit of pregnancy weight to go, but I'm not overweight.

Misandrylovescompany · 04/12/2020 22:00

They’re comfortable and anyone who’s lucky enough to see my pants should have better things on their mind than their size.

BessieSurtees · 04/12/2020 22:05

What’s with the weekend see through pants? @Thewinterofdiscontent

CoronaBollox · 04/12/2020 22:06

I'm not at the pants stage yet thank god but I did find them very comfortable after giving birth, I can see the attraction.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 04/12/2020 22:06

Oh God I love a big knicker. So warm, comfy and somehow reassuring. I’ve never been one for thongs, even when a was size 10 pre kids. It’s a natural progression really.

Also I agree with a previous poster - I think they look nice and suit my body type

jessycake · 04/12/2020 22:10

You get a flat arse and the other dont stay up so well

nancybotwinbloom · 04/12/2020 22:10

Well they are just comfy

I'm picturing something made of plexiglass. Covid-secure knickers.
Tanfastic · 04/12/2020 22:11

I was finding my bikini ones were rolling down when I bent over. Which means I've obviously out on a lot of weight. Big full knickers cover your belly.

ChickyNuggies · 04/12/2020 22:12

I'm 30, no kids, a bit fat and I only wear ginourmous pants.

They just feel so secure, and as a PP said, reassuring.

boomshakey · 04/12/2020 22:13

I love massive pants & have since I was a teenager when I used to wear boy shorts. I hate a cold back & VPLs.

see through knickers at the weekends

Why different pants for the weekend.

SewingBeeAddict · 04/12/2020 22:15

There is no issue ? Confused

Full pants are comfier and smoother plus you can tuck your vest in to stay cosy in the winter.

Frenchdressing · 04/12/2020 22:15

I wear sloggi maxi pants. No vpl and no muffin top. Smooth under dresses and trousers. I’m not going back to midis or bikini briefs.

LilyLongJohn · 04/12/2020 22:15

I love my big pants, massive revelation about 5 years ago. Sloggi maxi pants - heaven

Frenchdressing · 04/12/2020 22:17

Snap!

boomshakey · 04/12/2020 22:20

I flirted briefly with thongs at uni (it was the late 90s) but like the warmth of a big pant on my cheeks. All my bikini bottoms are much skimpier than my knickers.

Bathrum · 04/12/2020 22:23

I'm a size 8/10 (depending on shop) and if I have to wear knickers (I don't wear them unless I have to for modesty reasons Grin), I choose to wear the full briefs I bought in a size 16 to wear after my elective cesarean 4 years ago.

They are just so comfortable, I feel like I'm not wearing them. So, yeah, the bigger the pant the better as far as I'm concerned. I'm 39, if that's relevant.

Holothane · 04/12/2020 22:31

Venusflytrap
I love it brilliant 😊😊💓

stickygotstuck · 04/12/2020 22:33

I've always worn big pants. Or to use their proper name, pants.

I am instilling the habit in my preteen DD. As PP say, I see no aesthetic, comfort or practical reason to wear half arsed pants (see what I did there?) that go up the crack of your bum or leave any chance of your trousers being in contact with your fanjo (shudders).
