The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

I'll make a bit of an effort and make some porridge.

@sashh I do hope it passes quickly. We all had a cold bug for 2 weeks it was horrid- still suffering but feeling much better now.

Porridge would be great.

Florence has spent the night baking so we have some lovely soft rolls, Danish pastries, croissants (of course) and various other pastries.

Fernando has some syrups to try in your coffee, hazelnut is very nice.

The skating rink / ice sculptures have been repurposed as water features but a recommend wellies as the water is still quite cold.

Sorry to hear about the illnesses. I had a stinky bug over Easter too.

Can we have some blankets for outside please? It’s Spring and I’m going to enjoy sitting outdoors come what may.

I'll make breakfast sandwiches and bring them out to the 'workers', any combination of sausage, egg, bacon, mushrooms with ketchup / sauce of choice.

Can I have sausage and omelette please? I’ve never attempted a sandwich with fried egg.

Fruit and honey will set me up nicely for my morning swim in the lido. I’ll nab a ham and cheese toastie for afterwards if I may.

DS often got colds at that age.

We’re off to Cambridge to see friends on Monday. What’s everyone else up to?

We are off to play in the park with friends on Monday. But the rest of the weekend we will be at home.

Well today can only be described as gray.

So something colourful from the Netherlands, buttered bread with hundreds and thousands sprinkled on.

If that's too sweet you can opt for toast.

Another treat from NL is Raspberry flavoured tea, this is normal tea with dried raspberries in that you make in a pot.

I’m swimming again shortly. It’s the best part of the day.

I’ll pop by on my way home to see if there’s any leftovers from yesterday.

Afternoon, we were up 1-6am last night so had a lay in and sent DS and DH out for a bit. A tea would be great. Happy to sit outside and watch the animals for a bit.
