The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

I want to say I feel better 🤷‍♀️ I did a covid test and it's not covid thankfully. But it's a nasty bug. At least my head isn't hurting today.

DS will love putting the kitten bees out. I will send him over to you.

If I can have a honey and lemon again and a yoghurt as my throat is still sore- not sure I would manage toast.

DS has his first class today in what seems like forever. Hoping he reacts ok to being in a room or children and parents.

Well I'm a bit under the weather today so I'm leaving breakfast to F and F.

Florence has made baguettes, madeleines, apple tart and macaroons.

Fernando is making a selection of smoothies and hebal teas.

Still a little snuffly but I had a 'big day' yesterday.

I picked up my carer so he could get a parcel from the sorting office, then I got my nails done for the first time in months and then I picked up the other person in my bubble and we had nibbles and I drank, both of them are not drinking at the moment.

So F and F are in charge again, I'm going to snuggle under a blanket and drink coffee.

Morning, I was hoping to get back to bed but DS has other ideas. I've popped the kettle on and made a hot honey and lemon. I'm feeling better finally but not fully!

Well today looks like it might be warm so I'll do some packing up of sandwiches and fruit.

Breakfast, well I thought I'd explore Inuit food so we have loaves of bannock bread, but as most of the other food is eaten raw or frozen and is not just fish but polar bear and seal so I think we will move a little further south to Canada and add bacon and eggs to the mix.

I had to google bannock bread, is it tasty?

@Frownette I have no idea. But if I was offered that or frozen seal I know which I would choose.

I'm not sure I want frozen seal or that my throat could manage bread. Any yoghurts about? This bug just won't go. Feel worse this morning again. Maybe I should call in sick 🤷‍♀️ but still having my bathroom done so it's not peaceful at home.

How was the beach @mogloveseggs? Can't wait to get to the beach this summer. At the moment just enjoying the lakes and ponds around us. Excited to start swimming again with DS this Friday.

@crazycatlady7 I'll get Fernando to mix a stag's breath, mead, whisky, honey and a drop of hot water.
