The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Morning @crazycatlady7 Easter was quiet and I fell out with Tesco who were supposed to deliver so Sainsbury's have an order to deliver tomorrow.

Chicks with personalities? Maybe they could visit?

I have a feeling it will be quiet today so F and F have set up chaffing dishes with yummy breakfast food, help yourselves.

Morning, Was popping in for a seat by the fire, it's so cold cuddling DS, we've been under a blanket for 45mins but I'm so cold.

Will grab a takeout once he's awake as it's work today. Or can hand him over for sleepy cuddles?

Morning All.

The lambs are being allowed into the garden so F and F are BBQing sausages for sausage baps.

There are a few thermos flasks of tea, coffee and chocolate for those of you going into work, there are insulated sandwich bags to keep your baps hot. No giggling about that please.

Morning, will grab a tea to go, got my 2nd jab today. Hoping it's all fine so I can take DS out walking with our cousins. 🤞

Morning all, well we are still up, sleep is for the weak it seems. Seriously my DS doesn't sleep what is wrong?

Will get the hot drinks going and sit over by the fire where he can read.

I have bad news for you, if you look at the times I open the cafe you can see I rarely sleep late.

I'll just ask Florence to make scrabbled egg on toast.

@sashh we finally got to sleep around 5am, got the bathroom fitters here so had to be up still. 😭

Just feel like I'm failing, no support because of covid, a child who won't sleep.... and then sleeps when the day has started.

Oh gosh I haven't been in the cafe for yonks, how is everyone?

Morning, anyway. Yes it has been cold recently. I don't really feel like porridge so I'm going to go behind the counter and make myself scrambled eggs on toast, then tea and chocolate!

As normal I'm cuddling DS praying I will get back to bed before it's been4 hrs.... I will start the fire and snuggle up with a hot chocolate. It's chilly in his room today. I didn't react well to my 2nd vaccination and yesterday was so hard with DS. DH had "illness" too so was no help 😡 strange how he's always unwell when I am 🤷‍♀️

What sort of symptoms did you have? Was it AZ?

Ex used to get ill whenever I did, it was infuriating. I had norovirus and couldn't keep anything down, not even painkillers or water. He took to his bed like a delicate victorian lady declaring he had it too. No he did not, no symptoms whatsoever. I feel your pain!

@Frownette I had Pfizer. Had aches in my
Joints mainly back and neck a bit like flu, a sore throat and then a migraine. Also had next to no sleep for 2 nights in a row so thinking that didn't help 🤷‍♀️

Thankfully DS did go back to sleep and DH got up with him at 6.30 so I've had a lay in today.

I expect you are all going out shopping now that you can, I'll set up a creche so you can drop the little ones off if you want.

I'll just set out a cold buffet so help yourselves to breakfast or pack it up for later.

Buffet: Smoked salmon, cream cheese, selection of cheeses, sselection of hams, selection of fruit and a variety of bread rolls.

Morning, I don't think I'm well enough to do anything but will drag myself to the laptop and work. DS was up most of the night, now asleep on me 🤦🏼‍♀️

DH is "ill" "hasn't slept" yet asked me how much DS slept- pointed out he would know this considering he slept so badly.... couldn't answer me 🤦🏼‍♀️ he's now calling in sick. I have no voice yet don't get sick pay so can't really afford to be off. And it's not covid, I just think it's a nasty reaction to the vaccine- lucky me.

Can I have some fruit and yogurt please? And a refill of peppermint tea?

Does anyone have plans to go shopping etc?

F and F have gone shopping today, just because they can.

It's quite bright here so I'm going to do picnic bags to eat here or take to work. There is some outside seating and heaters and the lambs are allowed out occasionally.

OK bags include a pork pie, fruit, crisps, quiche and salad. Obviously there are also flasks of tea and coffee.

Sorry sashh, I seem to keep missing the thread!

Is there a veggie pork pie? Erm...a vork pie? Like the idea of a packed lunch, flask of tea please

If I can let DS play with the lambs? I can set up in a corner and work? I still feel so ill, not sure I will survive the whole day at work today as my head hurts so much. I now think I have a cold as DH has a cold 🤷‍♀️

We have loads of lambs in the fields around us which is lovely, we get a chorus of sheep baaing most mornings and evenings.

Last day of work this week and I hope really hope I start to feel more human

Obviously the toast will have multiple options for toppings including avocado, cheese, beans, eggs... you gt the idea.
