The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Morning all I hope you don't mind but I got the fire going, we've had about 1-3 hrs sleep in the house overnight so currently under a dozing DS while DH gets some sleep.

I know I moan a lot about lack of sleep but someone tell me this passes? He fought sleep till 12am slept 40 mins, resettled him he slept till 2, then he cuddled in bed till 3, played with DH downstairs until 4, and now asleep on me in the chair. How can he not be asleep fully?

I've got the coffee going.

Well I finally sent in about half an assignment so I'm not holding my breath.

I'm going to spend a bit of time chopping fruit to make fruit salads for us all, guava and lychee first, then melon and mango.

I think you’re entitled to moan @crazycatlady7. It does pass. DS was a short sleeper and woke hourly for feeds for months; DN didn’t sleep for his first year; a friend’s DS was like yours. They’ve all got there.

At least you’ve submitted it @sashh. When do you get your mark?

Florence has spent the night baking so fresh baguettes, bagels and croissants.

Fernando has invested in some syrups for coffee, the hazelnut is really good.

Crazy do you want to hand your little one over, the bumble cats are out of hibernation and I'll keep him a safe distance while we watch them fly, they are a little dozy at the moment which can be fun.

Morning, turns put DS has a cold. Was a rough day yesterday but last night armed with vapour rub and his plug in he slept better just a lot of crying/moaning in his sleep. Hopefully today he's getting better 🤞

We also get our two new chicks today- they are 9 days old so excited to meet them.

@sashh glad you got your assignment done. When is the next one due?

Will have to grab a take out today and hopefully can sit with the bumble cats tomorrow.

Time for a fry up I think, sausages (Cumberland, Lincolnshire and Lorne) eggs (fried, jaffle, scrambled, poached) bacon of various types, bubble and squeak, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, black pudding, tomatoes, fried bread and then some toast to finish.

The bubble cats are fully awake.

You may notice a couple of rather rotund sheep, their lambs are due this weekend and they will be in the petting zoo for a couple of months.

I feel like a Spring lamb myself today. DS has a cough but his negative test result came back in 15 hours over a Sunday (impressive), so we can leave the house and I can swim today for the first time in months! I’m a bit excited

Hi Crazy, I'm OK, I thought it was my covid jab but my carer has been the same and he had a different jab weeks before me.

I'm just making porridge this morning, Florence is making Easter treats so won't be around for a while, apparently it involves Fernando because some treats have alcohol in them.

A lot more people I know are getting bugs so maybe it's just a normal non covid bug 🤷‍♀️

Porridge sounds great. DS is sleepy today so pushing him to 11.30 before I take him for a nap.... think he's worn out with the Easter fun we've been having this week

Florence has made so many Easter sugary delights we will have to eat them until Monday. Madeleines, cupcakes made in to nests with mini eggs, croissants, chocolate eggs (some laced with liqueurs by Fernando ) cakes shaped like bunnies, gubana bread and of course hot cross buns.

Morning. I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend? It was very busy for us with being able to see people finally.

But then we were up for 4 hours last night 🤷‍♀️ was tempted to pop in to get the kettle going but we got back to bed at 3.30am.

How are the lambs doing? Our baby chicks have huge personalities already and have escaped a couple times.
