The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Dammit. I’m working too. I’ll just dangle my feet in the pool whilst I wait for my coffee and simnel cake (take your time ).

Now why didn’t I think of that? I’m not used to this wfh business. I’m done for today but I’ll definitely settle in with my laptop tomorrow.

What a fantastic idea, next time. Unfortunately I have to go in to work tomorrow much prefer my working from home days. I get so much more done.

Lets head to North London for some bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon, Some olives on the side an Florence is making doughnuts foe after, I can do pack ups for anyone who is working and Fernando can deliver hot drinks to your place of work.

IRL that's something else from Uruguay, in Montevideo you see waiters in the street with trays delivering coffees to people's work places.

Morning, bagel and cream cheese sounds great, if it can be dropped off at the office with a coffee please.

The coffee delivery is a great idea. I wonder if our local independent coffee shop would do that?

F and F wanted to go on a picnic but due to social distancing outside the cafe they are having to picnic in the garden,

They have generously made picknic baskets for everyone containing sandwiches, home made crisps, cheese, chutney crusty bread, min quiche, coffee and wine.

I've put some patio heaters dotted around the garden so grab a blanket or pick a picnic table. Watch out for the pigmy goats, they keep escaping the petting zoo and the bumble cats have got them into bad habits.

Sounds perfect. I will let DS wonder around which may help the goats keep away. Those kitten bees are mischief but I do love them!

Will be back after our food shop for lunch.

I’m in the office today, so a lovely hamper will be spot on. And make my colleagues jealous

I’ll just have a potter round the petting zoo whilst I wait for it. Take your time...

On another note, DS’s school has newly hatched ducklings. Lucky things.

Well after the pygmy goats were rounded up Fernando decided to milk a couple (the adult females obviously) so we have goats milk, goat yoghurt, goat cheese basically everything except a curry.

Obviously there is a whole larder of food so you can just have goat's' cheese on bread or a soufflé or an omelet.

Florence is making quiche and pies for 'packing up'.

Morning- yup another night from hell- I'm debating giving up sleeping for the rest of lent so at least it's in my control 🤷‍♀️ we've had one decent nights sleep this week. Second night in a row of 2/3hrs sleep. I've been up since 2am. DS will only sleep on me on the chair- tried bringing him into our bed last night and took him 2 hours of playing aka hitting us to fall asleep. I know sleep is developmental but it sucks we can't ask anyone irl for help 😭

So anyone want sleepy baby cuddles so DH and I can sleep? But for now I will get the kettle going for teas and coffees. And I'm going to creep past the kitten bees to let them sleep

Florence can get you a warm milky drink, the wingback chairs are a bit like the seats in business class flights so if you want you can lie down.

Ok for packing up I'm making CrazyCat picnic boxes full of things for when your baby won't sleep, biscuits, a flask of hot chocolate, ginger biscuits, some mini sandwiches valium a relaxing herbal balm.

As for breakfast old style greasy spoon breakfast with a builder's tea on the side.

I think we need sugar and more sugar today, Florence has made some amazing croissants some with chocolate and others with a sugar coating.

Fernando has made hot chocolate with different flavours added, orange or mint or cinnamon.
