The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

I'm watching 12 Puppies in preparation for the arrival of our Labrador puppy around Easter time, hopefully.

Er, what is congee??

(I thought I was an adventurous eater before I came on this thread!)

I really like seafood congee, haven't had it in ages.

@BaconAndAvocado it's like a savoury porridge but with rice. Can't remember how to do it now, I'll have to google

We got no sleep the night before and 8hrs last night. I wish DS was more predictable or got the memo to be consistent with his sleep.

It's definitely a wet one down here- I wanted to walk to drop a laptop off- but way to wet to walk in the roads here. DS is on his overtired day so napping early. Which means I have two hands free for green tea and some steamed bun please?

OK breakfast, lest sty in Asia and have nasi goreng. Obviously there are rolls, pastries and whatever else Florence has made and Fernando is in charge of coffee and cocktails.

I didn’t know that nasi goreng is a breakfast dish. It makes sense I suppose.

I was using up my a/l yesterday. MIL kindly took DS for a few hours, so I watched The Devil Wears Prada again as it was such a stinky day here.

Morning is tea and cake acceptable breakfast?

Today is chore day here for us, we have our walk this morning, socially distanced walking with my SIL so she can see DS. And then food collection and housework. But then means we have the weekend with DH.

We made biscuits yesterday- we will leave them on the counter to share.

Ohhh, nasi goreng had made me feel a bit queasy....DH had a jippy tummy last night. Think it might be a bug. Ive not eaten anything yet today. Might try a bit of dry toast if that's on the menu?

crazycatlady7 your day sounds really productive. I keep meaning to do housework but, other than washing and general hoovering and tidying, nothing gets done.....and my book is always tempting me too.

@BaconAndAvocado my day isn't productive 😂 managed the walk- just got DS down for his nap but have to collect the food now- guess I will be late 🤷‍♀️ not sure DH will let me go while he is working.

I guess I should stop cuddling DS and clean some of the house. Something about cuddling him, and never wanting it to end... I know one day he won't want cuddling to sleep 😢

Cuddling you say?? Never stop the cuddling! With my 3 getting older and less keen on the cuddling front, I really miss those early days......

Hence the puppy. The poor creature will be smothered from dawn till dusk!
