The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

He predated digital cameras, that's how long ago he was! He was a black and white tuxedo cat, and he had a very earnest expression - he always looked like he was having a school photo taken bless him.

Cattemole I sometimes take pics of old photos, it's reassuring to have a back up!

On the plus side of being in my bedroom, I've put make up on since I don't have to wear a mask, and found 3 out of 4 things I thought were missing. Downside is I'm starving and there's no-one here to cook my lunch so I'm going to have to go to the kitchen soon, but be careful about it and wipe everything down, wear a mask, open windows etc

Phew! Been busy delivering shopping and bits and bobs. Hope,your test comes back negative. If not, try not to worry. I had COVID in November and my symptoms were very mild.

It sounds like you have all had a tough day yesterday so lets start today with breakfast cocktails.

Then we can have sausage, Lincolnshire, Cumberland, bratwurst, garlic etc so we can all make childish jokes about willies to cheer us up.

Has anyone got a toddler / pre-schooler with them? Florence is making cakes and is happy to have 'help'.

sassh my 2 at home are 12 and 14 and generally are independent with their remote learning now that their school is doing live lessons.
DH had a sharp word with DS2 (chief winder upper) last night so, hopefully, things will be better today........

Afternoon. I am sorry to have missed out on the cocktail breakfast. I managed to trip down the stairs this morning whilst carrying a protein shake for DH. The contents went everywhere (including me!) and it took ages to clean up. The bruise on my hip is going to be impressive!

I hope the homeschooling is going better today and BaconAndAvocado is recovering well after their dentist trip.

DD has just fallen asleep and so the house is blissfully quiet atm.

Still very sore but test done and sent back after gagging on the tonsil bit and sneezing at the nose bit.

I was shining a torch down my throat in a mirror before I started and realised it's probably tonsilitus not COVID-19 as they are huge. But I'd just sterilized the table, got the box ready and registered it online so thought I may as well do it.

Please send lots of virtual breakfasts as I'm running out of food as I've been isolating :)
