The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Sorry I overslept, which I neve do IRL.

Yes a Jaffle is an Aussie brand name, equivalent to Breville, the original ones went in the BBQ, I just like the word.

Chocolate is a good call, so chocolate croissants, hot chocolate, pain au chocolate, churros, chocolate muffins.

IRL@BaconAndAvocado I'll bring in Misty, she is VERY affectionate and loves sitting on people's laps, the laps of strangers in particular.

@MinnieMountain - DD has been sleeping a lot better over the past couple of days and so I’m feeling more rested.

@snowy0wl yes it's great having an oven/cooker again but DH is now the cook so I haven't had a play 😂 hoping to make biscuits with DS later so will share if we actually get to it!

I've never 'chosen' a cat, they have all been waifs and strays.

Warm chocolate milk and warm milk with sprinkles for all the small people, not a problem.

My cat fooled us. She’s actually dark brown with tabby markings. She’s getting more cuddly in her old age though.

@MinnieMountain I fostered two kittens who we nicknamed 'the black tigers' they were black but with a tabby undercoat so depending on the light they were black or a shiny black with a non shiny tabby coat.

We have five cats.
Oddly enough, Cattermole was one of my first bean-feet: his mum gave birth to him in my lap and he was jet black with enormous pink feet (that later became white when he was cleaned up)
"Hell," my ex said looking at it, "what is that, a cat or a mole?"

He was such a sweet boy. Sadly no longer with us - drank antifreeze in the neighbours' garage

I've put another heater in the garden near the catnip bush and play area.

As it is still cold and I'm hoping we have cat visitors I'm making kedgeree, Florence will obviously have some delightful baked goods and I'm sure Fernando has a cocktail or two to go with rice and fish

RL I wanted something spicy for breakfast so had poached eggs and sliced tomato and cucumber with malay paste.

Aw, thanks all. If anyone wants a spare I have Chunky Boy currently cruising me looking for lap snuggles but sadly his sister and the Tank have already taken up residence so I'm all out of room. She is trying to catch my fingers on the laptop - any typos are due to having a spotty girlie nibbling my thumb.
