The happy place cafe 2 - advent opening

Thanks to a couple of really nice PMs the cafe is reopening until and including Xmas.

For the regulars

The kitten bees are inside for winter, please watch out for them getting stuck in jam.

F and F seem to be slightly more than friends.

The water feature has become an ice rink.

To anyone new:

This virtual cafe is a covid free zone. There are a number of seats / sofas / wing back chairs.

It opened in the first lockdown, it is an escape from isolating, home ed, mask wearing. It is a happy place, it is the opposite of AIBU.

A different breakfast is served every day and sometime packing up to take to work.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Dogs and children are welcome. Babies can be handed over to regulars to give you a break and we also have cots for them to sleep.

Outside is a cat amusement area with catnip bush and toys.

Kitten bees are kittens the size of bees with wings and their tails can transform into tiny umbrellas.

Happy new year all! We were up 2.30-3.30 and nearly popped by for a hot chocolate! Thankfully the really loud fireworks didn't wake DS but set his white noise toy off. Sorry @snowy0wl it was a bad night for you.

DH is having a lie in so feel we should treat ourselves, DS will have a banana crepe. And can I have an apple and cinnamon one please?

Morning all. It's been a bad night, just popping in for a coffee. DS only wants to sleep if cuddled so it's been a long night!

@crazycatlady7 do you want to hand DS over? Sit yourself down and let Federico make a special 'new mum pick me up hot chocolate' It's a secret recipe so I have no idea what is in it.

It's still cold so porridge seems appropriate, with additions of various fruits (fresh and dry) and spices.

Cinnamon and apple is a favourite of mine.

Morning all - second day in a row my kitchen floor hasn't leaked which i always a good thing to wake up to.
Porridge sounds amazing. The Junior Engineer has gone out to feed the birds in the garden - there's a queue of pigeons and rooks on the fence waiting for him. If you could ask Federico to keep the crusts @sashh those poor little bods could do with the extra calories this morning!

Still cold here so Florence is frying doughnuts, jam, custard, twisted, iced.

There is fresh fruit and Fernando is making fruit juices and smoothies to balance out the sugar.

I'm hoping DS is going back to sleep but I am be loosing as I've been trying for 40mins- up again 12-2am so seriously want some sleep 💤

It is cold still! We are off to the zoo tomorrow and starting to think it's a bad idea! Also the madness in tier 4 we can go to the zoo but not visit parents 🤷‍♀️ have asked them if they can be caged at the zoo so we can see them. 😂

I have nothing to do with the decorations, take them down, leave them up, I don't mind.

@crazycatlady7 Fernando and Florence still have the petting zoo if you want to try that instead.

Yay decorations are still up! Mine are at home too but we took down the lights outside yesterday just as it was easier to do.

DS loves the petting zoo @sashh just wish he was this engaged with his own chickens! 😂

I may not make it in tomorrow so please let your selves in and ask F and F for anything you need.

DS has an inset day today, so I’m listening to the happy sounds of him playing. I’m going to make an egg curry for supper in a sec.

Not sure. Probably because I went to bed early.

Do you do a standard curry then add chopped hard boiled eggs?

Standard tomato base then whole boiled eggs.

*With some lemon juice or yogurt to cut through the egg flavour.

Morning all- do I spy some blueberry muffins? Yes please! And gingerbread latte sounds amazing- a farm near me does gingerbread milkshakes- I did try it but was disappointed maybe I should have used it for lattes?

We didn't have a bad night with DS but I struggled to sleep. We are off to the zoo today!

Zoos are still open? I have a hard time keeping track of what's open and what's not.
