Cold left over roast potatoes

Rollergirl11 · 22/11/2020 20:39

I always sneak one off the plate and eat cold on their own with a pinch of sea salt. DH thinks I’m a philistine and they have to be heated up!

What do you do?

Left over roast potatoes. I know not of this phenomena

supadupapupascupa · 22/11/2020 20:42

Nope. Never seen one

midsomermurderess · 22/11/2020 20:42

If you have any cabbage, make bubble and squeak.

MrsPnut · 22/11/2020 20:43

I dip leftover roast potatoes and parsnips in the salt pig before eating them.

EvilPea · 22/11/2020 20:44

I just ate one whilst making tea. Sprinkling of flaked sea salt
Delicious

Ifailed · 22/11/2020 20:46

I don't understand people who can't count - just roast enough potatoes for the planned meal.

CrypticQueen · 22/11/2020 20:46

Mush them up with other leftover veg from the week and make bubble-with-poached-egg-on-top on Saturday or Sunday morning. Delish!

Simbidian · 22/11/2020 20:46

A touch of salt and some mayonnaise.

I purposefully roast extra potatoes because the ones eaten cold in the kitchen later dipped in the leftover gravy are the tastiest ones!
ChipsAndKetchup · 22/11/2020 20:47

Dipped in salad cream they are heaven Blush

Wildernesstips · 22/11/2020 20:48

I’m with Simbidian, cold roast potato with Mayo - yum

Enb76 · 22/11/2020 20:49

I made extra potatoes today. There are none left. I sort of prefer them cold with salt.

Twobrews · 22/11/2020 20:50

I like them cold dipped in cold gravy, particularly turkey gravy.
One of my favourite Christmas treats is a thickly buttered bread cake with Turkey, a pig in blanket, stuffing, red currant jelly and a gravy soaked roast potato, perfection.

megletthesecond · 22/11/2020 20:51

I make extra so we have cold leftovers.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 22/11/2020 20:51

Yes definitely cold with salt - love them like that.
We had stir fry for dinner coz it was quick when we got home from the park.

Glittertwins · 22/11/2020 20:51

We always do extra for the next day or so. DD has discovered how good they are so my days of grazing are numbered

Rollergirl11 · 22/11/2020 20:51

I make extra potatoes too. DD just had one cold with some Perinaise squirted on it. I think I might have to try it with the 2nd to last one!

I love cold left over roast with a sprinkle of salt. Its one of my favourite things to eat on Christmas night.

nocoolnamesleft · 22/11/2020 20:52

The individual words make sense, but put together they do not compute. Could you explain what you mean by "left over roast potatoes" as this entire concept is bizarre in the extreme?

LunaNorth · 22/11/2020 20:52

No need to blush - it’s food of the Gods.
Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 22/11/2020 20:55

Another for mayo and salt. DH on the other hand is disgusting and has them with burger sauce!!
I always make extra so we have some to munch on at about half 8/9 on a Sunday evening.

Pinkyandthebrainz · 22/11/2020 20:55

Delicious cold with salt.

Lilliarna · 22/11/2020 20:56

Got be cold, squashed into a yorkie, preferablywith a bit if stuffing. Reheated roasties are rank.

Hawkmoth · 22/11/2020 20:57

I like it when DH makes enough so we can have a version of patatas bravas the next day. It does have to be more than double the usual amount due to DC being gannets.
