Life Changing Cleaning - Why Didn't I Know?

I can't believe I didn't know about rubber brooms before now! No word of a lie, it has changed my life - picks up dog fur from the stairs better than any hoover. My carpet is like new. This, after spending £s on Dyson. Anyone else got any brilliant cleaning tips?

A what now?

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 20/11/2020 22:15

When I had a Saturday job in a salon when I was a teen, we always used a rubber broom to sweep the hair up.

Cherrysoup · 20/11/2020 22:18

Mil gave us one years ago, we’d just bought the same breed of dog as her! Also, wet rubber gloves on stairs and trainers on rugs.

For limescale, get Kilrock, it is amazing!

Minimamame · 20/11/2020 22:19

Oh I used to love my rubbber broom. Had it for a good few years until dh broke it Angry Got mine in Aldi but I haven’t seen them there since.

They're also good if you have people in the house with long hair.

YorkieTheRabbit · 20/11/2020 22:32

A normal rubber edge shower squeegee works fine on stairs Smile

Are you my DH? He just got one of those, however he doesn’t seem so familiar as you with how to operate it 😂😂. Bloody brilliant for the fur the Labrador is leaving everywhere.

MellieNelba · 20/11/2020 22:52

I always read these threads - find things I have never heard of .....and then buy...I am so easily influenced as I now await a bottle of Kilrock.

inmylifeIlovedthemall · 20/11/2020 23:01

And a bottle of Kilrock in my basket now.

Half a lemon works well on limescale shower heads too. Soda Crystals and white vinegar to clean drains and that Pink stuff to clean the kitchen sink.

Glass, windows and mirrors - fabric softener in water and smells amazing too - only time I've ever had smear free glass and I've tried nearly everything

Thewiseoneincognito · 20/11/2020 23:12

If you want to super charge the Aldi Mammia baby wipes, spray a clear perfume onto them before use. It literally takes them to the upper echelons of cleaning hack-ability 🤯

greyhills · 20/11/2020 23:18

Get someone else to do it, that's my motto Grin

if only

GreenClock · 20/11/2020 23:29

The rubber brooms are great !

sherrystrull · 20/11/2020 23:59

Flash magic sponge

The only thing to get the strange silvery marks of my upvc. I've tried everything. My jaw dropped

BawJaws · 21/11/2020 00:05

Rubber broom?!?!

Here’s my tip: I use odd socks for dusting

And if you burn boiled potatoes Blush pour milk into the pan. It completely gets rid of that acrid smell / taste

BlueSkies2020 · 21/11/2020 00:09

Can someone post a link to the rubber broom please

Also I’m looking for a good mop hardwood floors. Don’t want it too wet

Alexindiamondarmour · 21/11/2020 00:11

@CCSS15 wow I just tried your tip and the glass on my shower is amazingly clear! Thanks for that!

SleepingStandingUp · 21/11/2020 00:16

No dogs here just a long haired DH who seems to shed hair all over the place.

Thank you men on the house cleaning SOS show

MillyA · 21/11/2020 00:16
