Will the cat-eyed she-woman divorce the giant orange man baby? The way she bats his hand away whenever he tries to hold hers. The hideous sordid predatorial behaviour splashed all over the news. The cavorting with Jeffrey Epstein. The way he dances like his shoes are glued to the floor.

There is a show on TV at the moment with Angela Scanlon looking back at the noughties, and they showed a Ruby Wax show from 2000 where she met the Trumps, and Melania was in it and she was totally different, had an actual personality and was quite funny!

I am not sure she is as much the victim as people are suggesting, she is one smart cookie.

Why does everyone treat her as an unwilling participant in his vile presidency? She married him, she has supported him and his administration, she could have left at any point. She is not a hostage; she is exactly where she chooses to be.

Rumour has it that they've long led separate lives and that they would have divorced years ago had it not been for his political ambitions. And yes, I know, you shouldn't just believe rumours but it's clear from her body language that she can barely stand to be around him, let alone hold hands with him. She signed up for an anonymous life of expensive clothes, luxury homes and private jets in New York, not attending dull First Lady events with major press intrusion in her life.

Not that I feel sorry for her. She seems cold and soulless.

I’m not sure why she would leave now when she stayed for the presidency. The last four years were probably a lot more stressful and full of unpleasantness than the next four promise to be. There must be a lot of stuff about being married to Trump that she actually wants.

Trump, on the other hand, will have a massive need to feed his ego and a new, younger wife might be one of the ways he tries to do that.

Wonder if there’s a pre nup and she can’t. Cos I would have thought she would have left him a long time ago!!!

Possibly. It’s certainly one remote relationship I cannot understand. By remote I mean people I don’t actually know or care much about. Something must have attracted her in the first place. I might be wide of the mark here but I’m guessing it was something like money or access to a green card that was the main attraction and not the sentient orange’s personality. Sentient orange was how my son’s pal referred to the big balloon on twitter and I’m happy to have been able to use it here.

Hard to say. Either she'll quietly divorce him in 6-10 months or after their kid finishes college or they live separate lives until he pops his clogs.

It is nasty. Just par for the course on Trump threads though. Soon he and she will be out of the White House. I couldn't care less what happens to either of them.

She's no victim, as with many such marriages it's a contract - her youth and beauty in return for his money/power, as much as that makes us normal people heave at the thought. I should imagine there is a watertight contract that she has to stay until their son is 18 or something like that (or perhaps until HE wants to divorce HER).

Feels like she did absolutely nothing in her role as First Lady (other than ruin the rise garden) whereas Michelle Obama was always in the media doing this that and the other. That said I've purposely avoided American politics since Trump has been president as it's all so embarrassing

I'm sure I read somewhere (here?) that she re-re-negotiated her pre-nup when Trump announced he was standing for a second term.

If she's off, she needs to be quick before his debtors bankrupt him when he no longer has Presidential immunity.

If you choose to marry Trump, I doubt happiness is top of your priorities.
