Rural area, mum nowhere to be seen, very cold and shivering so have bought them in to warm up.

Now what?!

Contact the cats protection people. They may put out a trap to catch mamma cat if she returns.

WitchesSpelleas · 05/11/2020 10:30

Ooooooh, tiny kitties!

(nothing else to add Grin )

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/11/2020 10:30

Why does this never happen to me? Congratulations on your new fur babies.

Missmonkeypenny · 05/11/2020 10:33

Long three, not two! The other one was being cuddled by my husband Grin

Put some food in the shed for mum

mrshonda · 05/11/2020 10:37

If they aren't weaned they'll need special kitten formula and to be bottle fed. Contact Cat's Protection and make sure the little ones get help. They're beautiful!

GertrudeKerfuffle · 05/11/2020 10:37

Obviously they're going to need their own Instagram account. Congratulations OP Grin

@AhoyMeFarties

Put some food in the shed for mum
Great idea to check if she does return
Scarcity20 · 05/11/2020 10:38

Mum must be around and could probably do with catching /neutering. Good luck with new babies!

Whatamesssss · 05/11/2020 10:39

What a lovely find. I just have spider webs in my shed!

I think you are right to take to vets, they will have formula milk and feeding apparatus. They can also advise what food and when. It's hard to tell but they look about 4 weeks to me.

You could play kittens crying (youtube) near your shed and see if it attracts the mum. Best times to do it are dawn and dusk.

Contact a local rescue so they can be put up for adoption when old enough. I know the rescues near me don't have enough kittens to meet the demand.

Get some woodchip NON CLUMPING cat litter, sometimes they eat the clay clumping litter and it can block their digestive system.

Obviously the most important thing to do is put up more pictures. Grin

I'm just getting the baby down for a nap and then I'll be calling the vets to get a check up. I know a lot of shelters are struggling due to covid meaning they can't have volunteers of fundraisers so I am happy to raise them if needs be

If you're in Cornwall there's always a space by the fire here for a black kitten....
Not sure what the other five would say but hey, six is a good number, right?

Please leave food and water in the shed with another towel if you can spare it, it's getting cold now. Poor little guys, thank you for being prepared to raise them Flowers

AriesTheRam · 05/11/2020 10:45

Aww you must keep them

Sparklfairy · 05/11/2020 10:46

How long ago did you bring them in? Mum may still come back and wonder where her babies have gone Sad

silverbubbles · 05/11/2020 10:49

Lockdown treat for you!!

spiderlight · 05/11/2020 10:53

Squeeeee!! They are adorable!

DartmoorDoughnut · 05/11/2020 10:55

Ditto if you’re in Devon I would love a black cat ❤️

CatherinedeBourgh · 05/11/2020 10:56

I’ve had 7 of these over the past few years.

Check them for teeth. If they have any, you’re in luck and should be able to put them straight onto wet cat food. They should also be able to use a litter unassisted (just pop them in there as soon as they start squatting, they soon get the idea)

Missmonkeypenny · 05/11/2020 10:57

Vets have said to look out for mum for a few more hours and then if no sign, call them back but I'm worried they might be hungry..should I just get some milk?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/11/2020 10:57

Yes, do put food down for Mum.

OriginalTaste · 05/11/2020 10:58

This is what our boy looked like when we found him alone at the side of the road! We weren't keeping him, but 4 months later he's well and truly living in our house!

The kitten milk is fine, ours loved it, plus some kitten food mashed with water..

Enjoy!

CatherinedeBourgh · 05/11/2020 10:59

Round here (not UK) I can get kitten milk at the pharmacy too.

But they look old enough to go on solids.

ImFree2doasiwant · 05/11/2020 11:01

Have they just turned up or could they have been born in there?

You can give them some mashed up cat food is they have teeth, try and get them the pastey sort rather than the lumpy, iyswim. You can also give them some watered down evaporated milk (I got this advice from Cats protection, only to tide me over til I could get sone proper baby cat milk)
