Rural area, mum nowhere to be seen, very cold and shivering so have bought them in to warm up.

Now what?!

So I found something in my shed this morning...

The vets should have Cimicat, and syringes or bottles, depends which the kit prefers. It's really easy to mke up, it's like formula, you'll need to accurately weigh each kit and give the right dose at the right time intervals.

SnakesandKnives · 05/11/2020 11:31

@Lolalovesmarmite

We’ve had very young feral kittens before. The fact that you’re not getting your hand shredded is hugely positive.
Lol indeed. If it was really feral that picture would just be a blur of furry clawed stupidity Grin

Please please please can we have more pics :) :) :)

Aridane · 05/11/2020 11:32

You’re living the lockdown dream (and you have lovely hands) your

Baaaahhhhh · 05/11/2020 11:33

We found newborn mice babies nesting in the lawnmower...... bit gross actually, but DH very kindly left them there for mummy mouse to look after. I didn't adopt them!

InglouriousBasterd · 05/11/2020 11:33

Omg, I dream of this! They look like mini versions of my fluffy girl. They seem happy to be held! Definitely keep an eye out for mama cat, she may well be out hunting. Put out some stinky food for her - tuna (in spring water) for example.

Missmonkeypenny · 05/11/2020 11:33

Looby I am keeping an eye out, DH is home too as DD is on her last day of ' theres been a covid case in school ' isolation so one of us will pop to the shops while one looks out for mum. Seems to be one boy and two girls!

I love them!! Soo cute!!

AudTheDeepMinded · 05/11/2020 11:36

Sooty, Sweep and Guy?

LindaEllen · 05/11/2020 11:41

You need to at least try and trace the owner of the mother, on local social media and make the vet aware. If my cat had kittens and escaped to have them somewhere else, I'd be gutted if she came home without them.

If I couldn't trace the mum I would definitely be keeping!! But it depends on your position.

spiderlight · 05/11/2020 11:42

If I had a black kitten I would name it Inkling. Just saying.

SweetGrapes · 05/11/2020 11:43

I am leaving the window in my shed open after this. Soooo cute.

I always had cats growing up - but somehow never got around to keeping any in my own home. Am waiting to move house next year and then off to the refuge to adopt.

Missmonkeypenny · 05/11/2020 11:45

Managed to get anlook in a mouth, there are some very small teeth!

Aren't they lovely. They are probably less than 7 weeks old as their eyes are still blue. Around 7 weeks they will change or start to change to their permanent eye colour. They certainly look much younger than that.

Blownaway22 · 05/11/2020 11:48

I’d put them back and put food in the shed for mamma cat. There’s a fair chance she has just moved them there and will appear back after a few hours. Is she doesn’t come back, then yeah bring them in and get them on kitten milk etc. They would, however, be best on her milk for now. They do look very young. We had a similar situation with a yard cat but we left her food and left the kitten with her until it was old enough to come off. Said kitten is sitting beside me and mamma cat, as feral as ever, still gets fed each day.

blitzen · 05/11/2020 11:48

Omg this would be my dream!

Think you will need to try to trap the mama cat, who will need to be spayed. I think Cats Protection can advise and help with both these things.

They are so cute! Want!

HotPatootiebootie · 05/11/2020 11:49

At that size they will be more than capable of eating tinned meat and if mum Durante come back they will be ok. They aren't tiny so the chances are excellent.

Cattenberg · 05/11/2020 11:49

Ahh, they are so cute! My black cat looked like this when he came to us as a stray kitten. He was really mischievous, but lots of fun and he’s not at all feral!

was I the only one who thought of this??

@starfishmummy, nope, you’re not the only one. As soon as I read the thread title, that song started playing in my head.

OhMsBeliever · 05/11/2020 11:54

I want to find kittens! Why do I never find kittens? Life is so unfair.

Please send me the kittens. Grin

Roselilly36 · 05/11/2020 11:58

What a lovely find, they are just adorable, I hope their mum is ok.

notalwaysalondoner · 05/11/2020 11:59

Ah bless! You'll make an absolute fortune on them from keen loving owners in lockdown too (if you want to!) - kitten and puppy prices are through the roof!

picklemewalnuts · 05/11/2020 12:03

I wish I had a shed. With kittens in, obviously.

NewYorkNewYorkNewYork · 05/11/2020 12:04

Omg I love them. They are beautiful xx

Me too. I bloody love cats/kittens
ConquestEmpireHungerPlague · 05/11/2020 12:06

We've reared strays before. If our experience is anything to go by, mum is off scavenging enough to eat so she can make milk. If you have anywhere in range that sells fast food, I'd start by looking for her there.

Please say you're in the southeast @Missmonkeypenny! If their mum doesn't turn up I'd be delighted to help (and could keep them all together).

Smallsteps88 · 05/11/2020 12:06

Surprise kittens!!! 😍😍😍 this is the best kind of thread. What are you going to name them? Wink
