Rural area, mum nowhere to be seen, very cold and shivering so have bought them in to warm up.

Now what?!

There’s a fine line between this ones my favourite & I love them more than the kids so I’m keeping them all because we have a bond.

Ellmau · 07/11/2020 16:00

My main issue is no poo still! Vet seemed unconcerned as apparently it can take a while for them to go if they've been underfed. Never wanted to see cat poo so much in my life

Not an expert, but don't they need to be, er, stimulated when very young?

Missmonkeypenny · 07/11/2020 16:03

ella yes, we are stimulating to wee anyway

They are gorgeous

They are actually very valuable, Christmas Kittens have always had a premium (even when kittens were free or £10). At the moment cats are selling for silly money (£150-400 for a basic moggie and it will go up nearer to Christmas).

Make sure that they don't end up being sold on - maybe sell them yourself and use the money to pay your fees and donate some to a cat charity or keep it. I wouldn't give them away unless you know the people as they may well end up 2 weeks later on pets4homes at hundreds each.

Ddot · 07/11/2020 16:28

Missmonkeypenny wet flannel, rub bottom gently to stimulate poop.

Ddot · 07/11/2020 16:30

Yes be careful some awful people use kittens in dog fights. To get dogs in the mood to fight.

Ddot · 07/11/2020 16:32

Oh just seen you've already been doing it. Stimulate

SOboredofcleaning · 07/11/2020 16:35

Oooo my lovely friend is looking for a kitten. If you need to find an owner please do message me @Missmonkeypenny

Missmonkeypenny · 07/11/2020 16:43

covid they will be going to people we know well and trust, for sure. I wont be advertising them anywhere for those very reasons!

Callipygion · 07/11/2020 17:11

I buy my flea drops and worming tabs off internet, Vet UK, they’re much cheaper than the vets. Lots of brand choice.

But only if they can answer the 100 question test with no errors, provide two referees & be money laundered to prove they can afford a cat.

Then there’s the VIVA.

If they pass all that they can go on the waiting list.

I think you should name one Geoffrey after Geoffrey Palmer 💜

SlopesOff · 07/11/2020 17:20

@Bubbles90

This happened to my sister in September. Stray cat brought her 5 kittens into her garage over a period of 3 hours. She was struggling to feed them and the weather had turned. The kittens were ill and covered in ringworm. They would have died had the mother not taken them to my sister. You shouldn't have touched the kittens but kept a watchful eye on them, looking out for the mother's return. The mother was either still bringing the rest of her litter across or she was hunting. Now that you've touched the kittens she will probably reject them. They look about three weeks old. They still have blue eyes, eye colour starts to change at 4 weeks.
Rabbits reject or eat their young if you touch them, not cats. Cats reject them if they sense illness.

Oh please please can the girl kitty be called Rain (after one of my favourite songs ‘November Rain’ - seems like November was a lucky month for these babies...)!

Sorry- I didn't mean to sound naggy but the market for puppies and kittens is mad and some people don't realise how unscrupulous some people are

We recently privately rehomed a puppy (our 2nd rehomed dog) and apparently they had a vast number of applications but apparently some seemed as if they were looking to resell her.

Missmonkeypenny · 07/11/2020 18:55

covid I get it entirely. A family member is a breeder of a certain sought after dog breed and she's actually not having any litters at present due to the hysteria

Coal nice name, get it coal shed

ConquestEmpireHungerPlague · 07/11/2020 19:40

Could you post on the local Facebook page to see if anyone has lost a pregnant cat? Maybe it's a local pet cat who has just chosen your shed as their maternity unit? If my cat had been run over I'd be consoled a little to know the kittens were safe and I'd probably want them back.

I wondered about this too.

Missmonkeypenny · 07/11/2020 19:43

Conquest we really do live very, very rurally so it's incredibly unlikely it's someone's pet cat. I'm also worried about people claiming the cat and kittens are theirs when they arwnt due to the cost of kittens currently. I did ask both vets I called whether anyone had rwposted a pregnant cat or kittens missing and they said not.

Iamacatslave · 07/11/2020 20:24

Thank you for looking after them.

ConquestEmpireHungerPlague · 07/11/2020 21:49

Fair enough, I think you've done everything right, I'm not criticising at all. Smile
