More photos please, lots and lots and some more! Feeling blue ( covid 19 fed up blue) I'm sure a few kitty pics will help

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/11/2020 07:34

Pg cats get dumped, mum was probably a pet at one point.

MrsBobDylan · 08/11/2020 09:27

You are doing wonderfully well op - with a young (human) baby to look after as well!

I wish all animals could have someone like you to care for them.

Ddot · 08/11/2020 10:13

You should feel proud, you saved them x

Missmonkeypenny · 08/11/2020 10:23

Morning all! I will post some photos later on today to keep your happy levels up Grin kittens are well this morning, we have had a poo from one of them, never thought I'd be so happy to see cat poo but here I am. They were looking out for me when I went into them this morning and mewing for their milk. I'm hoping it won't be too long before they can all lap from a saucer as feeding kittens, toileting them and giving a baby and a 6 year old breakfast is no mean feat, especially as DH is back to work on Tuesday.

I ordered coloured collars which have come so can keep track of who is who. Also had a litter tray arrive and will start toileting them in there to get them used to it.

This has happened to me twice. Unfortunately I think the run over cat was probably mum.

The first time it happened, there was an adult cat lying dead on the road, and when I walked past a day later, there was a kitten crying in the hedgerow. It was clear what had happened, and that kittens is a big healthy boy now and much beloved by my parents.

The second time, a feral cat gave birth in our bike shed. We kept an eye on them and fed the mama cat, who was very much present. Then when the kittens got old enough, we caught the lot of them and a local rescue took them in and found them homes. Their mum was little more than a baby herself, and very wild, though she became attached to my DH. We caught the kittens first and used them as a lure to get her. You could hear her shouting for those kittens up and down the street, there was no missing it. The rescue spayed her, and she got a lovely home as a barn cat.

Basically if Mum was able to comeback she would have and you'd know all about it by now. The coincidence of the dead black cat and the amount of time elapsed makes me think she's not. Thank goodness you found her babies.

Quite possibly not a local cat then, she might;ve been tipped out in the middle of nowhere ....and found your shed !

I've just sent DH down to our shed to put some food in the freezer , told him to have a goood look for kittens .
He came back empty handed .

Probably just as well really , our 2 cats would not be impressed !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/11/2020 11:01

Ooh they are gorgeously wobbbly on their little paws Grin

You know you have to name them, even if you are in loco parentis their new Cat Slaves can change them ( and TBH , they never bloody answer to their names do they )

Ddot · 08/11/2020 11:10

Thanks needed that x

SoupDragon · 08/11/2020 11:13

❤️

I have 2 black cats and I also bought coloured collars to tell them apart. Bastards kept removing them so it's now impossible to tell them apart without a thorough examination for their tell tale signs

BillysMyBunny · 08/11/2020 11:16

Awww this is such a lovely thread, they are gorgeous!

honkytonkheroe · 08/11/2020 11:19

I wish I’d found them in my shed! I’ve just checked and I’ve just got a lawn mover, some old paint, tools, spiders and cobwebs. To be honest, I was hoping for some puppies though. Sad

This was a great lockdown story about a cat.

Jasper had found his way to Poppleton and was taken in by a family in June. The family mistook him for a pregnant female and took him to the vets this weekend

Well that's Jasper on a diet then - 4 months of living rough and he could still pass for pregnant ! Grin

Is it a surprise that he's a Black Cat ? ... little monsters Wink

emilybrontescorsett · 08/11/2020 11:50

That's a fabulous story Covidclara

Horsemad · 08/11/2020 11:56

Yay for poo! They are just so gorgeous, and so is your dog

ConquestEmpireHungerPlague · 08/11/2020 12:38

ran away when one of them hissed a little

Grin Bless them. So cute.

Katymum1988 · 08/11/2020 12:59

@Missmonkeypenny they are adorable! Well done you! Are you considering owners? I think (through powers of deduction...) we live near you and would be happy to have another little furball join our family 😊😊

Missmonkeypenny · 08/11/2020 13:26

Thanks all, DDog is a huge goofball and very lovely even if he does lie outside the loo and wait for me so I trip over mainly because DH lets him go in with him Grin

Katy we won't be rehoming them for a while but will also only be rehoming to people we personally know so we can be completely sure that they're going to be fussed over and spoilt for life, sorry to disappoint!
