Mine, because I finally got around to watching it this weekend, Hamilton is all that great.(though I do have the dadadaaadadaaa chorus from the king’s song in my head)
So come on, those sacred cows of film and tv, why don’t you like them?
Oh yeah, the Beatles. The Kinks were better.

Madonna is genius at self promotion but an absolutely shite singer.

Eurovision 2019 - more keys than a janny's bunch Grin

TheSandman · 16/10/2020 02:18

99% of all television is crap. Even Doctor Who is shit. How did THAT happen?

The Harry Potter books are awful.

Roald Dahl only looks good in hindsight because David Walliams' books are even shitter.

The Harry Potter films are awful.

Anything that involves 'celebrities ' doing things competitively - is shit.

Superhero movies are boring (and I'm a big comic reader. Love comics but the films are just shite - apart from the first and third Thor movies and the first Iron-Man.)

Spice World (the Spice Girl movie) was actually rather good.

TheSandman · 16/10/2020 02:23

@DioneTheDiabolist

Picasso wasn't all that. His ego was greater than his artistic talent. Ditto Damien Hirst. George Ezra is boring and shit. How did he get a record deal?Confused
Leonardo da Vinci may well have been the inventive genius of his age and he could draw wonderfully (seriously GREAT drawings) but he painted like a crap Sunday afternoon hobbyist . The Mona Lisa is a rotten painting.

But Dr Who has always been shit and everybody secretly knows it

shitinmyhandsandclap · 16/10/2020 06:34

David Bowie and Bob Dylan are shit singers who can't hold a tune

heathergem · 16/10/2020 06:52

Can't stand the following -

Any medieval dramas

All Sci Fi, space related films and series eg Star Wars, Trek, Stargate, deep space 9, Alien, anything involving leaving planet earth.

American sitcoms eg friends, cheers, they're just not that funny.

Reality tv shows eg love island, celebrity ones, the apprentice

Blueuggboots · 16/10/2020 07:07

Any and Dec. MEH.

Blueuggboots · 16/10/2020 07:07

ANT and Dec Obviously!!

user1493423934 · 16/10/2020 07:10

I like Mrs Browns Boys! and Miranda! (runs and hides)

I cannot stand the Goldbergs (The mother is annoying and I hate tv shows based in the 80's - just cringe).

I hate Modern Family except for the Al Bundy-actor-character-guy

As for Friends - The character of Rachel Green was so annoying! Monica was much better. I just don't get how Rachel managed to get an exceutive job with an assistant? let alone a bloody job in Paris? she certainly did not come across as having the education, intelligence or work ethic to do so.

Carrie Bradshaw was a narcissist, Miranda and Samantha were the best characters.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/10/2020 10:02

David Bowie and Bob Dylan are shit singers who can't hold a tune

I never rated Bowie all that much, but I thought it was just me.

Dylan is a very good songwriter and musician, but his singing voice is like the sound of grating frozen swede. I never understood why, in the Traveling Wilburys, where they had Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison at their disposal, there were a number of times when Bob must have stepped forward and said "It's OK, Roy - you've done your best but you'd better leave this difficult bit to me!"

It takes a real maturity and wisdom to accept what your strengths are and to let others take the stage when your weaknesses are their strengths. I don't actually recall hearing Mike Rutherford sing, but although he had (has?) his own band named after him, he graciously stood back and let the talented singers lead on the vocals.

unmarkedbythat · 16/10/2020 10:05

I've long thought Daniel O'Donnell is benzo'd up to the hilt

aSofaNearYou · 16/10/2020 10:07

I thought the last season of Game of Thrones was a bit rushed but otherwise fine.

PoorMansPaulaRadcliffe · 16/10/2020 10:12

@aSofaNearYou

Agreed. I enjoyed it. Was hoping for a spot of Hot Pie and Meera Thingy, but . . . it was good, overall.
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/10/2020 10:23

I've long thought Daniel O'Donnell is benzo'd up to the hilt

He wakes up every morning buzzing like a much more enthusiastic Iain Stirling, but once he's had his big boxful of daily meds, it's downhill all the way until Ovaltine o'clock Grin

SoPanny · 16/10/2020 11:01

I know right @MBear

I think she’s just a bum faced shite.

grapewine · 16/10/2020 11:06

@AfterSchoolWorry

Louis Armstrong's 'What a wonderful world' is annoying and shit.
Finally someone says it out loud. I can't listen to it.

Dance shows are boring af.

remainin · 16/10/2020 11:13

Star Wars does my head in. Can't bear any of it.

WhatWouldJKRDo · 16/10/2020 11:33

Ant and Dec aren’t remotely entertaining.
Strictly and BGT awful.
Only the first series of The Sopranos was good.
Breaking Bad and Curb Your Enthusiasm are tedious “aren’t we big and clever” wank to make mediocre men feel special.

Pink Floyd are crap.

Notarealmum · 16/10/2020 11:33

One more for the anti-Fleabaggers!!

RuffleCrow · 16/10/2020 11:39

Was watching Who Do You Think You are last night and suddenly felt very grateful that Jodie Whittaker is one actress my age who hasn't had anything "done". And doesn't need anything done because she has a beautifully expressive face and just seems generally down to earth and lovely. And i'm very glad she's Doctor Who (which may be the contraversial part. Meh).

Janevaljane · 16/10/2020 11:44

Who Do You Think You Are is boring, navel gazing, half made up tripe. "You're great great great great-grandfather was a thief" well, yes, if you trawl through the many many distant relations you are bound to find something vaguely dodgy.

BlindAssassin1 · 16/10/2020 11:45

UK utopia is my favourite and hardly has seen it, haven't got round to watching the US version.

This! Its so good, and very underrated.

That vibrato thing all contestants in a trash singing competitions do is awful. They need to stop it. I blame Beyonce.

Zoe Ball has destroyed Radio 2, I mean Steve Wright is a bit dull, but not quite so offensively dull.

Speaking of dull, its Stacey who ruins Gavin & Stacey, she's so boring it hurts; the character ruins the whole bloody thing. The episode last Christmas was painful.

The first Harry Potter book is the best out of the lot, the last two were bloated and wandering. The films were terrible and incomprehensible in terms of plot; the acting was obviously dreadful.

Pulloutbed · 16/10/2020 12:11

David Walliams books are utter shite.

How he has become a best selki g author I will never know.

Namechange8471 · 16/10/2020 12:29

All t.v/Netflix films etc are ovverrated and shit.

People should read more books.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/10/2020 12:31

I don't even care about my own relatives from six generations ago, so why the BBC think I'd care about those of some celebrity I've barely heard of baffles me.

I've seen clips where they burst into tears at the tragic happenings to their distant ancestors, as if they're personally deeply traumatised; but if we're honest, your GGGGGGGF, although technically related to you, is really just some old bloke from a long time ago whom you'll never know and no more a part of your life than anybody else from his generation.
