Mine, because I finally got around to watching it this weekend, Hamilton is all that great.(though I do have the dadadaaadadaaa chorus from the king’s song in my head)
So come on, those sacred cows of film and tv, why don’t you like them?
Oh yeah, the Beatles. The Kinks were better.

The Tiger King was exploitative trash and not entertaining.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/10/2020 12:34

Sorry, I've just re-read that and realise that it might sound harsh - wasn't meant to - but my point about total strangers who just happen to share an arbitrary blood link to you still stands.

Bbq1 · 16/10/2020 12:38

Zoe Ball. I can't stand here, she is so false and insincere.

The Office Just not funny.

Little Britain. Same as above.

The Handmaid's Tale, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead -
What was all the fuss about?

Dua Lipa. So what?

Mrsjayy · 16/10/2020 12:44

Little Britain was fond of "blacking up" i dont know how they got away with it!

user1471565182 · 16/10/2020 12:49

WeBuiltThis Im into family history but even I feel like that. Yeah its sad often but the only link I have with these people is genetics. I suppose the real reason I do it is because of the life they lead and the stories that brings up, not the family link. Have some awful family world 1 war history (2 dead brothers and one done in for life) but never cried about it.

WonderMoon · 16/10/2020 12:57

About 95% of new music in the last few years

James Corden

Gavin and Stacey

Towie/ Made In Chelsea

@user1471565182

But Dr Who has always been shit and everybody secretly knows it
Yes, but it was fun. Low budget, shonky sets, running around the same corridors, cliff-hanger ending "how will the doctor escape this time....?!" kids' show. When did it turn into the po-faced, self-referential, 'serious issue' wankfest it has become?

Oh, I completely agree, I love history and learning about how people lived hundreds of years ago - the good, mediocre and (all too frequent) harrowing. It's just the idea that learning of a traumatic experience that befell my GGGGGGGF would affect me so very much more than if it happened to his neighbour, or his schoolmate, or his milkman. After all, the further in history we go back, the more likely we are to also be related to these other people anyway!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 16/10/2020 14:32

I actually rather like James Blunt's music. He's also not up himself like a lot of his fellow celebs are and is quite happy to make himself the butt of the humour.

Bbq1 · 16/10/2020 17:00

Completely off topic here but what does 'Meh' actually mean and why? Every other poster on this thread is saying this or that is 'Meh'. I find it really grating to read comments along the lines of 'It just makes me feel meh' because that means absolutely nothing to me.

Glad someone finally said David Bowie also I suspect very controversial I can't stand only fools and horses

dollybird76 · 17/10/2020 09:47

I also didn't really rate Hamilton. Some of the songs grew on me (Wait for It) but I came out a bit flat.

The Avengers is terribly overrated, and really should have stopped at least 6 spinoffs ago.

The Witcher was better than Game of Thrones.

KiposWonderbeasts · 17/10/2020 16:48

Sacrilige! Hamilton is the best thing since the male version of Swan Lake. Love it, listen to it all the time.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2020 20:14

I suspect very controversial I can't stand only fools and horses

John Sullivan wrote another sitcom - Dear John - that I don't think has ever been shown again anywhere (even on Gold); and it was brilliantly funny.

His relatively mediocre OFAH, however, is never off the telly. They still do greetings cards with Del Boy on them saying something like "Hope you have a cushtie birthday, you plonker!!!!!" and I simply cannot fathom who, in 2020, is still seeing them in shops and thinking with a big grin on their faces "Hey, that's both very original AND hilarious!" - and actually handing money over to buy them.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/10/2020 20:20

X factor
Britain's got talent
Strictly
Dancing on ice
And all the other shit "talent" shows in tv. The dancing ones are the worst though.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/10/2020 20:22

Starwars. Its soon boring and just ridiculous.

ConorMasonsWife · 17/10/2020 20:23

3 seasons into Game Of Thrones but it wasn't for me, it was rubbish. Also not a fan of like PP Star Wars and Harry Potter, but I do like marvel.

TeacherMcTeacherface · 17/10/2020 20:26

Was literally about to post the same @Iminaglasscaseofemotion

Star Wars bores me to tears.

Also, Top Gun is shite. Morrissey isn't a poet, he's a pretentious knobhead. And I don't get Gavin & Stacey.

Hands off Hamilton though. And Game of Thrones. Even the last season. Smile

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/10/2020 20:26

Oh and this isn't tv or film, but radio 1's live lounge. Everythjng to have ever come put it is shit. I'm not a fan of other artists covering songs in general, but this isnjust a whole new level of self indulgent crap. Its like they haven't rehersed at all, and they just wing it. Bloody awful.

Gormless · 17/10/2020 20:38

John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’. Vapid nonsense. And don’t even start me on ‘Hey Jude’.

Conversely: Jennifer Aniston is an extremely under-rated actress.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2020 20:42

I've never seen Star Wars or Star Trek as of yet. Leave it another 100 years or so and I might consider doing so....

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2020 20:46

Morrissey isn't a poet, he's a pretentious knobhead.

I don't know if it's true, but I remember reading that, whilst he is a vegetarian and is clearly well known for campaigning vociferously against eating meat and making a huge scene everywhere he goes, Johnny Marr simply made his own personal choice to be a vegan and just gets on with living his life as he sees fit.
