Mine, because I finally got around to watching it this weekend, Hamilton is all that great.(though I do have the dadadaaadadaaa chorus from the king’s song in my head)
So come on, those sacred cows of film and tv, why don’t you like them?
Oh yeah, the Beatles. The Kinks were better.

Supergrass and Suede are way better than Oasis and Blur.

Were there any sexual problems?

Alright, Tiger, take it easy now, won'cha Grin Grin Grin

My favourite ever scene has to be the one where Mrs Boyd-Peters - the one with a terrible and frequent wind problem (how do I still remember her name?!) - is at the party and the men have been asked to step forward to spare her blushes:

  1. Paaarrp!!
John: "Oh, I am sorry - please forgive me."
  1. Paaarrp!!
Ralph: "DO excuse me."
  1. Paaarrp!!
Kirk: "That's alright, Mrs B-P - you can have that one on me!"

I can't watch most of modern TV.
It's just terrible quality and / or cynically exploitative.

dayswithaY · 17/10/2020 21:59

Hamilton is a muddled frantic mess that needs a narrator to pull it all together.

Dear John was a brilliant, original comedy, so was Just Good Friends which was also written by John Sullivan.

Bake Off used to be entertaining but now it's just people making a sponge under pressure as grinning comedians ask them pointless questions and Paul Hollywood leans on the counter. Oh and Prue's glasses change colour every week.

Danny Dyer must be someone just playing a character, ditto Paddy McGuinness.

AriesTheRam · 17/10/2020 22:01

Sting and Paul McCartney are overrated singers

Namechangeforthis88 · 17/10/2020 22:08

The ending of The Usual Suspects was totally predictable. Nothing could have surprised me less.

I like to think that he and Brian Sewell used to have a secret pact whereby they would each use their own natural voices to talk about their own areas of interest (Danny: "And what does this demonstrate to to us of Proust's chief artistic motivations?"; Brian: "Getcha laaavely carrots - only 30p for a paaahnd to you, me daaahlin'!") in private but then swap and present with the other's voice and persona whenever they were in public Grin

Namechangeforthis88 · 17/10/2020 22:10

I have seen Dave Gorman live twice. On neither occasion did I actually want to. He did the exact same act each time. The second time was exactly one year after the first in the same venue.

Ltdannygreen · 17/10/2020 22:21

I don’t like dirty dancing....

MostDisputesDieAndNoOneShoots · 17/10/2020 22:23

Another one who doesn’t understand the superheroes for adults stuff.

dayswithaY · 17/10/2020 22:24

Exactly right, WeBuiltThisBuffet, Brian Sewell wasn't real either! Some people's accents are too theatrical to be genuine: Sara Cox, Lauren Laverne, And & Dec, Ray Winstone.

How can Dave Gorman be considered a comedian? Same as Frankie Boyle who just throws obscenities and personal comments around, hardly a skill.

I HAVE to watch this again! Remember Tosh Lines as the washed up singer? So poignant, as all excellent comedies are.

Yes, Ricky Fortune. Such a poignant episode. Kirk could be such a bastard.

Lolaloveslemonade · 18/10/2020 20:04

Anyone who plays GTA is an absolute dick.

DioneTheDiabolist · 18/10/2020 20:11

Morrissey isn't a poet, he's a pretentious knobhead.
He is both a poet ,and a pretentious knobhead.Wink

HerBigChance · 18/10/2020 20:12

I loved Dear John! Simple and poignant and lovely Ralph Bates died far too young.

ByeGermsByeWorries · 19/10/2020 09:25

I don't enjoy a lot of film/tv because everything contains pointless nudity and sex scenes.

I don't like Star Wars which seems to bother a lot of people

I don't understand the fascination with Jason momoa.

Obviously all only personal opinion.
