I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

I’ve just had a hoover round and made a tiramisu for tomorrow, always tastes better after a night in the fridge.

I'm up again. No baby yet, but got up to go to the toilet and now can't sleep. I was panicking that bleach fumes from the toilet

DaisyDreaming · 03/10/2020 03:26

Pain from doing too much today

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:27

Damn it- accidental uncompleted post! *Bleach fumes from the toilet next to DD's bedroom would have been breathed in by her all night because DH forgot to shut the bathroom door when we went to bed after brushing his teeth (bathroom window was ajar, thankfully). However, she's since gotten up and joined me in bed and seems ok.

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:27

Sorry to hear that, Daisy. Hope you feel better soon.

beachedwhales · 03/10/2020 03:27

Because I'm worried sick about my adult daughter who works in social care and has extreme fatigue, headache, cough and sore throat. All of the staff are ill with the same thing. Test went off today.

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:29

@beachedwhales that must be awful for you. I know I'd be worried about it. Try to think positively though- most cases are mild.

Juanmorebeer · 03/10/2020 03:31

Had a late shift that was meant to finish at midnight but due to mega drama was v late so just got home and trying to wind down before bed

whatsthebestname · 03/10/2020 03:34

The puppy puked. Then pretended she needed to get out to the toilet so she could run around the garden.
Can't get back to sleep.

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 03/10/2020 03:35

Horrendous back to school cold (teacher) nose is streaming away combined with headache and throat with razor blades in it. Having a cuppa and paracetamol before attempting to go back to sleep 😴 Brew

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:36

@Juanmorebeer I'm sorry. Hope it was at least entertaining mega drama rather than just irritating or upsetting.

@Whatsthebestname Devious puppy. What sort? And do you have a pic (of the puppy, not the puke!)?

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:38

@IamnotaStepfordHousewife oh dear. Hope you manage to get some rest. The back to school colds are awful. Did you have to get a COVID test this week?

HasaDigaEebowai · 03/10/2020 03:42

Perimenopause. I no longer sleep past 3am so I’m watching masters of flip and thinking about house renovations

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 03:44

Perimenopause does not sound fun @HasaDigaEebowai. Who'd be a woman?

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 03/10/2020 03:50

Also boiler broken so no heating and bloody cold house. No covid test as clearly a cold, no temp, no new cough or issues with smell. Just lots of snot, sneezing and sore throat.

mumtotc · 03/10/2020 03:54

Up feeding my baby.

ZiggyStarburst · 03/10/2020 03:58

Went to bed nice and early after a lovely bath.

Then Trump went to hospital and BANG I was awake and newshounding.

Now I am all news’d out so instead am dwelling on my current work woe and thinking about how women always come out of things worst. Hopefully I will be less angry in the morning.

MrsPworkingmummy · 03/10/2020 04:04

I'm awake as my children pretty much never sleep through and end up in our bed. I'm always hanging off the edge and have kids hands, elbows, toe nails etc digging into me.

redferrari · 03/10/2020 04:07

My job has been put in the 'at risk' category so I been waking up and working on my cv, also just heard someone in my DC school has tested positive and they are yet to confirm the bubble year group affected (waiting for a Monday announcement)

FourPlasticRings · 03/10/2020 04:08

@MrsPworkingmummy I hear you. My toddler usually spends the night in her room but tonight she's in with me and DH. Freaking adorable but she's on the duvet and my leg is sore from lying on it so I'm just sat on the bed watching the rest of the family sleep.

RosieLemonade · 03/10/2020 04:27

DD wet her bed at 3 which turned into musical beds as she wouldn’t settle with DH in our bed and wanted to come in the tiny single with me. Now all awake. I do tend to wake up for no real reason between 4:30-5:30 most mornings. Dozing off just before my alarm goes at six. Hoping we get some sleep before the day starts but DD is usually up at six no matter what she’s been like through the night.

myhousekey · 03/10/2020 04:28

DP is at work on nights and I always spend much of his night shifts awake, thinking there's someone in the house. And the cat has taken to coming home in the middle of the night and just walking around shouting really loudly. He used to do it if he'd killed something but now he seems to just do it for the hell of it. I'd really like to go and make a milky coffee to help me back to sleep but can't risk walking past the toddler's room as she 100% will wake up and then that will really piss me off!

Mosasaur · 03/10/2020 04:39

DS was awake till midnight and he’ll be awake again at 8am. This is the only time I can have a few minutes to myself. I know I’ll regret it when I’m exhausted tomorrow, but I’m just so desperate for some child free time.

RepeatSwan · 03/10/2020 04:45

My sleep is all.over the place these days. I just roll with it, I get enough overall. It's not like there's much excitement to be had these days anyway Sad
