I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

@Bloodybridget,
Lung surgery sounds an innings. Really hope the recovery goes smoothly and that you're soon feeling far more comfortable.

Bunnymumy · 02/10/2020 02:18

Thanks guys :) its ages off yet though, if it even goes ahead. But thought I'd get an early start :)

1forAll74 · 02/10/2020 02:19

I was just trying to sleep, in my darkened bedroom, and one of my cats came rushing in and leapt up, right on my stomach area, and proceeded to tramp around on my pillow after, and he was soaking wet from the rain, so had to get a towel to dry him off. Now awake, so just ordered some garden gravel from Wickes online.!

AnIdiot · 02/10/2020 02:25

I can't sleep because, since hearing he's split with his wife, I've had a ridiculous Facebook crush on someone I used to be friends with about 20 years ago. Then earlier I came across him on Tinder and swiped right. We've matched and he's sent me a message. Now I'm feeling like a fucking teenager and don't know what to say back.

BusyBB · 02/10/2020 02:34

Had to drive into london today and got sent down the wrong road. I had to stop because there were traffic lights due to road works so I did a (safe) 3 point turn in the road but the car behind seemed really angry about this. Was wondering if I had done an illegal turn and going to get a fine, or worse..... just been looking on road view of google maps and it seems like it should be okay, now just need to wind down from my anxiety.......

WanderingMilly · 02/10/2020 02:35

I was deep asleep but our building has just had a bloody fire alarm, not even a drill but yet another false alarm. Lots of people not going out and everyone saying "We're not sure what the problem is".....
I'm so tired and I have to go to work tomorrow.....

lillylemons · 02/10/2020 02:36

I'm awake because I don't want to sleep until I have finished knitting this Christmas stocking. I've got 12 to make and I'm on my 3rd one. Been trying to get one knitted each night once the little ones in bed.
So I won't be sleeping much until I've completed them all.

@ShellsAndSunrises - am so jealous you are in Barbados! Am assuming it’s your honeymoon? If so, congratulations.

Not sure how things are there re Covid, but if you are able to do a Friday night at Oistins then it’s great fun. Fish, rum and great music!

And Sunday brunch at The Crane is worth it, with gospel choir. Plus you can then use their facilities for the day - loads of lovely pools, gorgeous beach with a glass elevator down the cliff to reach it, lovely club sandwich from the pool clubhouse.

Just down the road from The Crane is a great little place called a Cutters. They do great rum punches and a simple but great menu.

There’s a lovely fish restaurant in St Lawrence Gap which I can’t blooming remember the name of, but it’s lovely sitting there looking out from the deck over the water. And Daphnes Restaurant is supposed to be great, though was out of my budget!

Have fun and please bring a tiny amount of sunshine back with you!

Canklesforankles · 02/10/2020 02:41

AnIdiot that sounds exciting in a Harry met Sally sort of way (potentially)!

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 02/10/2020 02:44

Congratulations, ShellsAndSunrises. Hope you're having a better time there, than we are here.

akerman · 02/10/2020 02:47

I am worrying about life after no deal Brexit.

OriginalD0G · 02/10/2020 02:47

In hospital waiting for a sparkly new hip. Should've been today but postponed till tomorrow. I'm not especially wimpy but getting nervous after waiting all day.

There's a lovely lady opposite me who's snoring and I keep having hot and cold flushes.

akerman · 02/10/2020 02:48

Am excited for you, though, AnIdiot

Sirzy · 02/10/2020 02:53

I have just taken Ds off the pump for his night feed when it was done. Now listening for his breathing and any problems we may have

rainbowninja · 02/10/2020 02:55

Anxiety is keeping me awake, going through a difficult patch at the moment. I find it hard to settle down at night, dozed earlier in the evening but now wide awake with that familiar feeling of dread. Hoping to wear my brain out on here...

SchmooobyDoo · 02/10/2020 02:56

Feeding baby. Stupidly ate a couple of squares chocolate, before bed. Poor mite had a terrible crying episode & I was stress-eating...

EarringsandLipstick · 02/10/2020 02:58

Working on a really difficult, sensitive work situation. I was in a meeting all day about it, then evening was taken up with my DC (single parent), needed to do more work to prepare for tomorrow but I was so exhausted I went to sleep when kids did & when I woke at 1130, got up & worked till now.

Back in bed now with gnawing anxiety that I'll sleep through my early alarm to get up & finish work preparation ... and panicking about the day ahead & if I'll have the energy for this meeting & worrying about the other work I haven't got to as tied up with all this.

Good luck to everyone else awake ❤️

Dixiechickonhols · 02/10/2020 03:00

AnIdiot That's exciting.
Just watched a live stream concert from US so 2am our time. I am a night owl anyway.

IamEarthymama · 02/10/2020 03:01

Every damn night my severely arthritic ankle decides to be more painful than it has been all day!
Why!
I have elevated it, rubbed various potions into it, taken pain meds, nothing works. Just past of the joy of chronic pain.

I am listening to the end of a Helen Fields crime novel, Perfect Prey, it's excellent. I recommend it. I was talking to the characters earlier.

Time for hot milk and a meditation app.

I hope

EarringsandLipstick · 02/10/2020 03:02

a meditation app.

@IamEarthymama

That's just what I'm looking at doing now too! 😀

IamEarthymama · 02/10/2020 03:05

EarringAndLipstick

I use YouTube and headphones
I tried a rainforest one the other day, which was effective.

Good luck!

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/10/2020 03:07

I’m awake because the dog woke me up needing a wee and a poo.

@Bunnymumy
These are good tips for choosing a monologue. I think it’s risky choosing something from a tv show you watched rather than a script. You could end up just copying rather than creating. I get you’re not supposed to know how to do it all atm. But an audition shouldn’t be an impression. www.theatrebayarea.org/news/185679/10-Tips-for-Choosing-Your-Audition-Monologue.htm

throwingawaymyshot · 02/10/2020 03:09

work related stress keeping me awake and also anemic

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 02/10/2020 03:22

I've managed to get a Covid test for 8 this morning, so I'm fretting about that.

Rebelwithallthecause · 02/10/2020 03:26
