I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

OP posts:
Doliv63 · 08/10/2020 00:51

Am worrying about my son ..he is 20/and going on a much deserved break tomorrow evening to Edinburgh. Am worrying because of the restrictions.

Deianira · 08/10/2020 00:56

I am a lecturer. Cases are rising where I work but the authorities and University are insisting on our not moving teaching online. So I get more emails every day from students isolating or testing positive. I am lying awake 1) worrying about my students 2) worrying about doing my teaching well in this situation.

apumpkinaday · 08/10/2020 00:57

My DS and DD are both awake in my bed, they will go to sleep in half an hour and be awake again at 5😴

Doliv63 · 08/10/2020 00:58

@aidelmaidel

It's almost 10pm here and I want to brush my teeth, but DH has barricaded himself into the bathroom for a good long shit.
Why do men take so long...genuine question ?
JamieLeeCurtains · 08/10/2020 01:00

I'm thinking about watching the US vice-president debate.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 08/10/2020 01:22

@FourPlasticRings yay! Congratulations!

EnjoyingTheSilence · 08/10/2020 01:23

I don’t think I’ve had a decent nights sleep since last Wednesday. I really hope his isn’t a new thing for me as I really don’t cope well in little sleep

Goldistheanswer · 08/10/2020 01:37

Lots of things going round and round in my head, just can’t settle. I then start thinking about my early start in the morning and feel more stressed! Plus I now feel hungry too 😙
Might start watching the vice presidential debate.....could help me drop off!

Islagray11 · 08/10/2020 01:39

Had a temperature for 4 days, and just vommed all over my bed. Yay

Frownette · 08/10/2020 01:42

@Islagray11 oh gosh I had similar recently. Can you strip the bed and bung it all into the washing machine? Commiserations, it's horrible having to deal with it when you're a bit weak

Goldistheanswer · 08/10/2020 01:46

Oh that’s horrible Isla. Hope you feel better soon. 💐

TheNortherner · 08/10/2020 01:47

Im a night owl and i work better at night.

Glenthebattleostrich · 08/10/2020 01:48

My dog is an arsehole who woke me up to do a poo but she spent 20 mins finding the perfect spot so I now can't get back to sleep. She's now snoring happily while I'm awake and have tried 3 sleep meditation apps to go to sleep.

Ratched · 08/10/2020 01:49

I left my husband after many many years of marriage, for good reason.
We have been separated for a few months.
We have met over the past few weeks and talked and talked.
We decided to line together as friends, companions, supporting each other.
We have an offer on the family house and viewed a house today that is perfect for our new life. Our offer was accepted.

Now I bet you think I am awake worrying about the relationship ?

Nope. Furniture placement. Fucking furniture placementHmm

CorianderLord · 08/10/2020 01:51

I'm 25 and have tomorrow off because I'm working the weekend

LittleAtlas · 08/10/2020 01:52

Teething baby sleeping in our bed who won't stop fidgeting. I'm now sat up holding him while he's fast asleep 🙄

Vinosaurus · 08/10/2020 01:54

Have an issue about why my DH left me to die 2.5 yrs ago. Got drunk and confronted him tonight about it tonight.

I'm still drunk, he's in the spare room. Now can't sleep.

CorianderLord · 08/10/2020 01:55

Oh forgot to mention I have insomnia, so thinking about everything that needs doing by Sunday meant... nope. Toss, turn and cry until 8. Except DO has work at 7 so I've moved to the living room to drink beer and attempt to read.

vodkaredbullgirl · 08/10/2020 02:39

1st night of 3 night shifts

Tiny2018 · 08/10/2020 02:47

Teenage daughter woke me at midnight having an epic meltdown over the fact that she hasn't done her English homework for tomorrow, has lost her Maths homework and will get a detention.
Screaming, fists pounding on the floor, screaming at me to suggest something, calling me a fucking Bitch, the full shebang.
Can't get back to sleep now, even though she's sound on after finally wearing herself out and I'm thankful the Police haven't been called to be honest.
New rule in this house, homework to be done on same night as receiving it from now on.
Bloody teenage girls😡

CorianderLord · 08/10/2020 03:09

@Tiny2018 remind her that's her job and you'll help her this token but to remember on 2 years she will have no one to fall back on.

I'm 25, I did that behaviour at 12, but by 16 I recognised my own failure was mine

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 08/10/2020 03:40

Worrying about more Covid restrictions and how long this will all go on for.

I made the mistake of opening the coronavirus Mumsnet threads first

autumnredhead · 08/10/2020 03:58

Just my usual wake in the middle of the night and lie here until I drift back off... usually hours away.

Aww congrats @FourPlasticRings - how lovely.

suchclearwater · 08/10/2020 04:02

I had terrible argument with dh last night where he called me lazy)I'm no but suffer from anxiety). He also called me embarrassing for buying things from eBay and finished off by asking when I was going to start my diet again. Nic😔

bettsbattenburg · 08/10/2020 04:07

Because I'm feeling miserable and tears are rolling but without crying, weird.
