I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

I've been woken by the dog needing to go out, he's getting old and is definitely becoming incontinent, but I'm a light sleeper so wake when he gets out of his bed.

Lightlysieved · 07/10/2020 03:27

It's so difficult to concentrate with my DH still WFH that I've been working in my home office in the wee small hours trying to get something done for tomorrow and I've got chilled to the bone and now I can't get warm in bed. It's freezing and I am shivering. Never, ever buy a bed with a metal frame; they are uncomfortably cold.

BooseysMom · 07/10/2020 03:30

Regular insomniac here. Woke at 2.30 from a nightmare involving DS lost somewhere in the hills and some kind woman finding him. Peri symptoms are exhausting me.

FourPlasticRings · 07/10/2020 03:36

I'm here because the inconsiderate foetus can't decide whether it wants out or not. Thinking up suitably awful names to saddle it with in retaliation to pass the time while I wait to see if contractions have stopped (for the eightieth bloody time).

Onacleardayyoucansee · 07/10/2020 03:45

Have been sleeping well lately... Not tonight.
Had both (older) children crying about school and schoolwork this evening.
First time thats ever happened.
A friend on the phone and her woes til late.
Might get up for tea and toast.

lostintranslation78 · 07/10/2020 03:50

Regular insomnia
Worry about life COVID has made me anxious
Dreading work and have blocked nose

FourPlasticRings · 07/10/2020 03:53

Tea and toast sounds lovely @Onacleardayyoucansee. Butter me a slice while you're at it, will you?

StillDumDeDumming · 07/10/2020 03:58

@Onacleardayyoucansee it’s so hard when they’re upset like that. I have lots of quite horrible family drama and not slept for nights on end. I had got back on track at work and was feeling a bit better after dp’s massive brain haemorrhage and now dd has gone awol. I know where she is but she’s only 16 and I want her here.

I can’t remember the last time I had a full night’s sleep. It is incredibly distressing. I have chronic pain and if I’m lucky can manage two hours before waking. I feel constantly exhausted and on edge. Pain meds aren’t working and neither are sleeping tablets.

StillDumDeDumming · 07/10/2020 04:01

The smell of tea and toast is amazing. My dp is learning the stairs in his rehab. He brought me up a flask of coffee the other morning while I slept because he could do it a step at a time. It was so lovely to feel looked after.

babycakes1010 · 07/10/2020 04:05

I've just got home from nights and ds2 has decided its time he needs to be up!

Cat woke me up wanting attention, then I needed a drink, now just flipping through here waiting for tiredness to envelop me again.

Flowers to those in pain and grief this morning. Be kind to yourselves.

Balloondog · 07/10/2020 04:17

I have no idea why I'm awake, this is the fifth night in a row and I'm exhausted. I dragged myself through a busy work day yesterday, thinking I was at least bound to a get a decent nights sleep as I was so bloody exhausted and here I am, wide awake. I start work at 7am so there's not much hope ☹️

Onacleardayyoucansee · 07/10/2020 04:30

Had a peanut butter sandwich. Got the tea in hand. It was worth it 😁
I've reduced my aim from "sleep" to "rest"...
Thankfully have a brilliant boss and colleagues. Might take half a day tomorrow if permitted.

Wishing energy and positivity to all who need it as we are entering the morning.

Love all.

Sunbird24 · 07/10/2020 04:32

I’m having my eggs harvested for my first round of ivf this morning and there’s no space left for my bladder, so I woke up needing a wee and now can’t get back to sleep

YukoandHiro · 07/10/2020 05:37

@FourPlasticRings Have you still got contractions?

I got a few hours sleep but woke with ligament pain again and me going to the toilet has now woken the toddler for the day.

boatyardblues · 07/10/2020 05:46

I woke at 5am, which is unusually early for me. It’s because I was so shattered yesterday I fell asleep in the sofa just after 9pm. If I sleep before midnight I wake up stupidly early instead.

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/10/2020 05:50

DBF is up to watch his grandkids and take them to school. Can’t sleep now as he has been replaced in the bed by various snoring pets!

AlternativePerspective · 07/10/2020 05:53

I usually keep these kinds of hours anyway but tonight have been awake since 2:00 with toothache.

Dentist appointment later, bring it on.

FourPlasticRings · 07/10/2020 06:28

@YukoandHiro yes, but still frustratingly irregular. Very intense when they come.

FourPlasticRings · 07/10/2020 23:52

I am awake, cluster feeding my newly-minted DS! Absolutely bloody shattered though.

CalmRedSea · 08/10/2020 00:38

@FourPlasticRings Congratulations! How wonderful.

I’m dancing Salsa with DD tonight. Just finished and I’m knackered.

I hope everyone gets some sleep that wants it.

Frownette · 08/10/2020 00:44

Congrats @FourPlasticRings!

Just up thinking about things here. Might get up and make a cup of tea, can't remember the make of our washing machine for washing machine thread.

I've lost my brain this week, tried to do figures on Tues and kept losing track (lack of sleep, feels foggy)
