I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

OP posts:
nildesparandum · 06/10/2020 01:45

I am still awake at this ungodly hour because I am having a flare up of emphysema.Last night I was awake five times with terrible coughing bouts and feeling like choking so when I did get over it was 9 30 am
I then had to take myself to hospital as it not settling and getting worse.
Two nebulisers later and dose of steroids I am back home.I am an ex smoker so deserve all I get from this horrible disease.
I would still have been awake if they had admitted me but I managed to fob them off.Last time I was kept in I was in a room full of demented old women. One kept forgetting what bed she was in after returning from the toilet and trying to get into other people's, and another who screamed like a banshee whenever the nurses went near her.
Today I am going to do nothing and lie in bed, if coughing allows, enjoying the peace I hope.

sent too sn...

previous post was meant to add that I'm really interested to learn more about it, because my friend may show sort of signs, it would appear, from me quickly skim reading online article just now.

Nomnomarrgh · 06/10/2020 01:50

Because

TherapyClient · 06/10/2020 01:54

Because I'm due to have outdoor walking psychotherapy tomorrow and my husband has invited himself along. But just to walk the dog in the same area while he waits for me to finish so he can take me for breakfast in a nearby pub in his day off. And I am feeling so adrenalised by it, In a negative way!

Saz12 · 06/10/2020 01:58

nildesperandum- hope you get a restful night soon!
And whitecat, wishing you sleep and reassurance. Awful time for you.

I’m awake due to getting cramp in my foot, which is trivial (for which I am grateful!).

Strokethefurrywall · 06/10/2020 01:59

It's 8pm here in Cayman and we're anticipating Hurricane Delta's winds in a few short hours.

House is full of outdoor crap, I'm busy downloading Netflix shit on every single device in case we lose power and the kids shit themselves without having something to watch, and everyone staring out the windows waiting for something to happen.

On the plus side, I got twatted at brunch yesterday because it was my birthday, so 2 days WFH has suited me just fine.

Nickinoo30 · 06/10/2020 02:05

Because

Day 4 of amoxycillan for a chest infection and the stomach cramps and upset tummy have started. Im down stairs with a cup of mint tea and sky news on.

Frownette · 06/10/2020 02:07

@nildesparandum a friend has similar, it sounds like he's dying when he has a fit. He still smokes! Don't beat yourself up about it, hope you can get some rest.

My sleep has been shot to shit last few days. I think it's because of staying up late with same friend on Friday night, drinking wine and chatting, he asked me if I wanted to do the same on Saturday and I thought god no but diplomatically suggested a nightcap. He's been off with me ever since and I'm puzzled and a bit hurt about what I did wrong.

autumnredhead · 06/10/2020 02:20

I don't know! But I feel asleep about 10pm and been awake since midnight!

I'm working from home so wonder am I just not tired enough? After a day in front of the laptop I feel tired enough to sleep.

CampfireZen · 06/10/2020 02:22

@Strokethefurrywall,
Sending thoughts your way. Sounds like you're doing the best prep.
Update us afterwards x

CampfireZen · 06/10/2020 02:25

Oh, and a belated happy birthday...next year's will be doubly good.

TheBestSpoon · 06/10/2020 02:26

Toddler DS woke up SCREAMING at 2:06am for no apparent reason. He's fine now, but DH is stuck in his room attempting to get him back to sleep. I'm lying here wondering if DS (who is normally a really good sleeper) somehow knows tonight was the night we started TTC baby #2 and is protesting accordingly!

Frownette · 06/10/2020 02:26

@Strokethefurrywall Hurricane Delta sounds a lot more fierce than our Storm Alex here!

What do you do about cooking if the electric goes? Do you have something like one of those camping gas burners?

CampfireZen · 06/10/2020 02:27

Going to attempt some sleep again now, folks.

Wishing everyone who's ill/in pain some ease asap.

Frownette · 06/10/2020 02:28

Night campfire

Biancadelrioisback · 06/10/2020 02:30

I'm desperate to sleep but it's not happening! Tempted to give up and have a cup of tea.
I'm also sweating like mad which does not help!

CampfireZen · 06/10/2020 02:33

I leave you lot with some comedy sheep to count.
(1 min 20)

Zzz.

roseyroserose · 06/10/2020 02:45

Had a nightmare someone was trying to break in. Woke up in a panic.
Now I can't sleep 🙃

Westiegirl3 · 06/10/2020 02:46

I was in a lovely sleep but my dog woke up for a wee... been awake 1/2 hour now and I think I'll be here for a while

cricketmum84 · 06/10/2020 02:53

Because I went to bed stupid early

aidelmaidel · 06/10/2020 02:53

It's almost 10pm here and I want to brush my teeth, but DH has barricaded himself into the bathroom for a good long shit.

cricketmum84 · 06/10/2020 02:55

@DeeDimer I would kill for a chocolate ovaltine right now!!

Jasmin82 · 06/10/2020 03:05

I'm currently having trouble getting to sleep due to a flare up which is playing havoc with my temperature regulation and bladder. So I'm browsing properties that I can't afford unless I win the lottery.

DeliciouslyFemale · 06/10/2020 03:07

Because my skin is itching all over! I want to tear it off! This happens now and again, but I’ve no idea why. Usually a shower helps but it’s after three in the morning and I’ll wake my youngest. Awwwwww! 😫 scratch scratch scratch

samosamimosa · 06/10/2020 03:08

Because I'm thinking about ways to handle a work situation
