I can't sleep and was just wondering why other people would be awake at this hour

OP posts:
ulanbatorismynextstop · 06/10/2020 03:23

I wake at 3am every morning, I'm sure 'it's a thing' not sure what.

WitchWand · 06/10/2020 04:21

I'm hungry. But I don't want to get up and eat because I'm wanting to get rid of some weight.
I'd really love to be able to get back to sleep again. Confused

Lollypoppyflop · 06/10/2020 04:27

Worrying about getting my new mortgage approved and money generally.

HeadLikeAFuckinOrange · 06/10/2020 04:33

Because my friend has gone into labour so her DH has dropped their DC round to me around half an hour ago Grin

lljkk · 06/10/2020 04:36

I just wake up. Insomnia is so so boring. 9am meeting today. Irk.

Frownette · 06/10/2020 04:39

@HeadLikeAFuckinOrange good luck with getting them settled!! I bet they're really excited :)

Hm2020 · 06/10/2020 05:42

Took some laxatives so woke up at 3 in pain and couldn’t go back to sleep up to take ds to school soonish so no point now so having a coffee

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 05:57

Wow, a busy night on the insomnia thread.

@bloodywhitecat I've seen you on your other thread. Up to four weeks is horrendous! I really hope they get you in sooner, must be nightmarish not knowing.

@CampfireZen the roof tile made me Grin. Sorry it kept you up. And thanks for the sheep.

@Strokethefurrywall I hope the hurricane moves on swiftly and doesn't do any major damage. I can't imagine having to batten down the hatches and wait a hurricane out- is it really stressful or are you used to it?

@nildesparandum glad you're at home and comfy as you can be. I hope the coughing abates soon.

This made me smile. Hope all goes well for your friend and you're not too exhausted by the end of it too!
Strokethefurrywall · 06/10/2020 12:46

Thank you @CampfireZen @Frownette and @FourPlasticRings - all well here, its passing south of us it's now so have woken to a lot of rain and some strong winds but nothing we're not used to!

We're pretty used to being prepared given we've been through an 7.7 earthquake in January, an out of control dump fire 10 days later and then Covid lock down.

We also have excellent infrastructure and building codes. My thoughts are with those in the Yucatán peninsula who are not as for th are as us here, they've got this heading right for them.

Hope everyone got some sleep last night!

CampfireZen · 06/10/2020 14:07

@FourPlasticRings, those sheep are great, aren't they?!
(ruddy falling roof tiles not so much. Grr)

CalmRedSea · 07/10/2020 00:24

Just finished a conversation with DD on Dutch idioms and their literal and comparable translation to English. Butter features in Dutch idioms surprisingly frequently!

Thanks for the sheep.

@HeadLikeAFuckinOrange love that user name and tickled me that @orangejuicer replied to you. Grin

I’m winding down.

YukoandHiro · 07/10/2020 00:24

Here we go, in for another rough night.

Had a sweep today and been cramping ever since but it's severe round ligament pain that's keeping me awake. I'm uncomfortable in every position and in some it's unbearable. Every time baby moves it's agony. But no true contractions at all, and no other signs of Labour like a show.

Wondering whether to call in but as our toddler is asleep I'd have to get a solo cab and really don't want to while feeling this rough.

So fed up now. I just want this baby out and to be back home again for good.

Froglette16 · 07/10/2020 00:28

I’m up because I slaved all day doing drop offs, MEGA housework and pick ups. Breakfasts, lunches, 3 different dinners. This is MY time! 😂 Ready for bed now...

CalmRedSea · 07/10/2020 00:28

@YukoandHiro you poor thing that sounds so uncomfortable you must be exhausted.

YukoandHiro · 07/10/2020 01:17

Thanks @CalmRedSea - yes this has been a grim pregnancy from beginning to end. I had hypermesis til 18 weeks, then diagnosed with gestational diabetes (had that before too) so stuck on a tedious diet, and finally lots of incidents of severe muscle/bump pain in third trimester. Had to give up work at 29 weeks to accommodate the amount of medical stuff. Mind you, all of this during lockdown with no nursery was worse.

Luckily this is my second and last pregnancy. D-day is Monday - I'm being induced then if nothing happens previously.
And then I never, ever have to do this again. Thank god. All those women who glow and feel their best self during pregnancy can go swivel.

FourPlasticRings · 07/10/2020 01:19

@YukoandHiro I hope you get some sleep!

Itsatoughgig · 07/10/2020 01:36

Still awake. Lots going on and feeling deflated.

akerman · 07/10/2020 02:01

Ear infection.

bettsbattenburg · 07/10/2020 02:58

Because I have had a sudden resurgence of grief which is overwhelming me and I'm feeling pathetic not to be coping when a colleague with a more recent bereavement of the same magnitude is coping admirably and managing to do a great job whereas I'm useless in the same job.

I always wake up at 3am, i think it means something, I'll have to google it.

Mandalalorianna · 07/10/2020 03:04

Bloody stupid dog couldn't get out if the bedroom because very long ds has decided to make a bed in the floor next to my bed. Little legged dog made funny little grumbling noises which woke me up. At 0140. Now it's 0304 and I'm still bloody awake while stupid dog is snoring by my feet again!

Millie2013 · 07/10/2020 03:12

I’ve got an on/off nighttime wheeze (I’m fine during the day) and every time I think of going to the GP, it disappears. Had asthma as a kid, thought I’d outgrown it, but this is relieved by DD’s salbutamol
Also wondering if it’s allergy related, as it comes and goes and was worse during early spring pollen season
Flowers to those of you in physical or emotional pain

ManOfPies · 07/10/2020 03:20

Don't start work till 2pm tomorrow and keep telling myself I should go to bed nonetheless.
