Mine is brushing my teeth. It just feels like such a chore because I'm clearly very lazy.

Shopping for anything which I have to physically go to the shops to purchase.
Cleaning the oven.
Cleaning the windows.
Bathing the dog.
Weeding the garden.
Attending medical appointments.

waitingforautumn · 26/09/2020 19:42

Like many others brushing my teeth! I swear I go to bed hours later than I should just bc I'm usually procrastinating over the chore. Morning is worse because it's either a minty taste with breakfast or having to brush right after breakfast 🙄 (something about it heck).

Emptying the dishwasher

Hoovering - hate the faff of trying to hoovering a small space or under a piece of furniture or having to move furniture in order to hoover or carting the hoover round the house. We have a cord free, a Henry, a stair hoover and a classic cable hoover and they're each their own kind of nightmare.

Cleaning the toilet

Making dinner lol

carlywurky · 26/09/2020 20:40

I love washing my hair in the shower, That swishy, clean feel and smell. I wash it pretty much every day. It's shoulder length and pretty manageable though, it's no mane.

I didn't realise I was weird. Grin

I do hate dusting, hoovering the stairs, battling with duvet covers.

noodlezoodle · 26/09/2020 22:33

Yep, also brushing my teeth. It's so tedious. I've tried to enthuse myself by referring to it as a tooth massage. (This didn't really work, obviously).

Laundry, specifically folding and putting away. Argh.

Meal planning.

Basically all mundane adulting tasks except for showers which I love.

Kljnmw3459 · 26/09/2020 22:35

Washing my hair!!!

Dee1975 · 26/09/2020 22:42

Hair wash day! It’s such a faff!

Galwaygirl · 26/09/2020 22:50

Washing windows, hate it!

bakerypots · 26/09/2020 23:47

Can I also add putting clean dishes away. That pees me off too

Tidying. I actually quite enjoy cleaning. It's clearing other people's endless tiny bits of clutter from surfaces before I can clean that bugs me. And the moment it's done, DS comes in and dumps loads of tiny indecipherable bits of kit on the kitchen table, shelves, sofa, floor and it starts all over again.

ToastedEnglishMuffin · 27/09/2020 08:18

Washing up. Kitchen is too small for a dishwasher

Bessiebigpants · 27/09/2020 08:28

Cleaning the hob for reasons unknown my teenagers leave it filthy,if the so much as look at it! It’s got stupid heavy cast iron things with awkward crevices and the gas burners are a 2 piece arse too! Just writing this makes me furious

Ragwort · 27/09/2020 08:40

Hate dealing with phone calls for car, home insurance etc. Always get some chippy person who is clearly reading off a script without pausing for breath, I hate being asked 'may I call you ?', I actually said 'no' to one recently ... he didn't know how to respond Grin, I hate being asked "how are you today" ... it's a business call not social chit chat. I appreciate it's a crap job but they are probably paid more than me and many just don't have basic interpersonal skills. And that ridiculous comment "Is there anything else I can help you with today?".

Yes, I know I could do it all on line but that is even more infuriating Angry.

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 27/09/2020 09:17

Emptying the dishwasher but in particular putting items away that are in the higher cupboards and random places, I want to throw all these items away rather than put them in their places

Getting the washing in

Emptying the tumble dryer condescending drawer and removing the fluff

Putting petrol in the car

Changing toilet roll as I'm the only one that seems to know how to do it in my house

Making packed lunches and meal prep, I absolutely hate this and if I lived alone I would happily eat toast for every meal

Unpacking shopping from the car

Taking make up off at night, I want someone else to put me in my pyjamas, take off my make up and put me to bed

Walking the dog as she sniffs every blade of grass and walks so slowly that it is just painful

Emptying bins as the whole family over fill the bag so much that trying to remove it from the bin makes me feel like a farmer delivering a massive calf

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 27/09/2020 09:18

I did do paragraphs by the way so sorry my post is one long chunk of despair

Cismyfatarse1 · 27/09/2020 09:18

Reminding pupils that I (as a single word) requires a capital letter. Every day, many pupils.

WhatTheFuckHappenedHere · 27/09/2020 12:21

Just existing in general really

Supermarketworker06 · 27/09/2020 13:00

Tip for putting washing away- I always mean to but life gets in the way! I have a vast selection of wash baskets, so I fold the washing, put it in a basket and leave it upstairs until Sunday.
When I've changed the sheets, (using last weeks clean sheets straight from the basket), I take the clothes out of the basket and put them in piles for instant use. I.e. shirt, pants socks for dh, piled up so all he has to do is pick up one lot for him to wear. Stops him banging about in the morning getting his uniform ready. I put out the clothes for me the next day; socks, knickers, top, jeans, all ready to put on. I've usually only got the towels to put away, plus a few bits of underwear.

I also pick out of the basket my clean clothes for the day, so by the end of the week there's very little left.

And I hate doing the filing, always mean to do it regularly, then don't, then have to spend ages sorting, shredding and filing. Every bloody time!

Ashdownstar · 27/09/2020 13:04

Phoning my mum. I text her a lot and see her weekly though.

Chewbecca · 27/09/2020 13:13

Oh, I am feeling really lucky reading this - thanks all!
I love Excel, putting order around chaotic figures is dreamy. DH likes life admin and does most of those jobs for us.

I dislike going to the gym, but force myself to occasionally.
I dislike unpacking after a holiday.

Tanfastic · 27/09/2020 13:14

All of the above Confused

TitsOutForHarambe · 27/09/2020 13:17

Putting away clothes. I can wash them, peg them out to dry, bring them back in no problem. But putting them away? Ruins by mood. I resent it so much and I cannot for the life of me understand why. I just do.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 27/09/2020 15:05

Washing and drying my hair

I wash it every other day it’s such a chore

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 27/09/2020 15:06

Oh yes agree putting away clothes

I often have a few large piles over a weeks worth and there is only two of us

Crinkle77 · 27/09/2020 17:22

Going for a wee. I have an overactive bladder and am always going the bloody toilet.

CoronaIsWatching · 27/09/2020 17:28

Literally most daily tasks, but the highlights are

  • Working
  • Changing Bedding
  • Hairdressers
  • Cleaning Oven
  • Cleaning Toilet
  • "Life admin" tasks - Calling Utility companies, council, booking train tickets/travel etc.

Basically anything that wastes my precious free time
