Mine is brushing my teeth. It just feels like such a chore because I'm clearly very lazy.

Yes, what weirdos actually think of clothes shopping as an enjoyable leisure activity?

Staffy1 · 25/09/2020 23:43

Ironing. Also, bathing. I do bath daily, but have never been the stereotypical woman that sees it as an escape or indulgence. I just find it boring and a chore and can't wait to get out. Wish we had a proper shower as I can't stand the shower attachment over a bath kind of shower.

IdblowJonSnow · 25/09/2020 23:46

All of the above apart from brushing my teeth which I love.

Staffy1 · 25/09/2020 23:49

@AgeLikeWine

Getting up in the dark in winter. I hate, hate hate it. I’m definitely not a morning person at the best of times, and getting up when it’s still night is just awful.
Totally agree. Getting up in day light is difficult enough sometimes, but while it's still dark, and cold, is torture.
CandidaAlbicans2 · 25/09/2020 23:50

Pretty much everything that's expected from a normal functioning adult with a house to look after, especially cutting the grass, removing make-up, and doing my tax return. Everything seems such an effort even when it isn't really once I get my head around doing it. Funny that bringing washing in is so unpopular as I find that so satisfying. Maybe it's because it's only my stuff though rather than a whole family's?

Giggorata · 25/09/2020 23:59

Pretty much everything here and then some more.
Peeling potatoes and sewing particularly.

QuidcoQueen · 26/09/2020 00:16

Listen to DH's boring run down of his work day.

Susannahmoody · 26/09/2020 00:21

I hate hoovering, so pointless

Interior decorating 😱

Susannahmoody · 26/09/2020 00:21

Using excel

Omfg I hate it

PontiusPilates · 26/09/2020 00:37

@Blizy

Winding my baby dd.
Is she not battery operated?
ladybird69 · 26/09/2020 00:48

Everything!
You go to the shop, buy the food, haul it back to the house, prepare it all, it takes 2 seconds to eat! clean up afterwards, clear up the rubbish and repeat. Just give me a pill!
Wear clothes get them dirty, wash them, iron them 5 minutes later they’re back in dirty basket.
Have a shower wash thick hair. By the time it’s dry it needs washing again.
Changing bedding takes hours and lots of blood sweat and tears just to repeat it all over again the following week.
Clean hoover polish and repeat.
Cut grass prune flowers de weeds and repeat.
Paint and update house. Walls get scuffed. Themes go out of date. Redecorate!
Everything is thankless and relentless.
☹️ I think I need chocolate

blueshoes · 26/09/2020 01:10

I hate hoovering and excel too.
Cleaning the BBQ grill - the brush gets destroyed, then I have to wash the brush, then the sink I washed it in
Which reminds me, cleaning the cooker hood
Getting grease and burnt off food off cooking utensils
Getting stains off clothes - apparently I am the guru in the house
Finding things around the house because no one else can be bothered to put things away properly - I am the house ferret, hate it

bingowingsmcgee · 26/09/2020 01:37

All of it. It's all appalling.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 26/09/2020 01:42

The school run. Bloody hate it. So tedious and monotonous. Especially pick up time.
The hoverers are the worst. Just get your kid and fuck off out of everyone's way.

sufur · 26/09/2020 01:47

Brushing teeth
Changing bed covers
Washing baby bottles
Washing fruit/veg
Ironing

Time40 · 26/09/2020 02:10

Most of the above, but ...

... so many people have said putting petrol in the car. What's so awful about it? I'll do it for you all; I like feeding the car. Just that lovely smell alone ...

Tillygetsit · 26/09/2020 02:26

Cleaning the oven. Yuk.

Kote · 26/09/2020 02:35

Yes to almost all of the above. I'd also add shaving my legs. It's SUCH a chore and the hair is already starting to grow back 5 minutes later. Angry

Strokethefurrywall · 26/09/2020 02:46

Hanging clothes after taking from dryer. We have a laundry room where they hang for eternity until the helper comes and sorts our shit out.

Making effing packed lunches. Kids school are t doing hot meals for at least another couple weeks and the idea of making sandwiches in bulk leaves me cold... I started sending the kids in with cold pasta instead such is my hatred for buttering bread.

Walking the dogs. I've got one old 12 year old dog that has to sniff every single fucking blade of grass before deigning to pee on it, which can take up to half an hour. I also have another 10 year old dog that pees immediately and pulls on the leash and has boundless energy, so I spend every single damn walk being pulled in opposite directions. I've started to walk them separately which takes double the amount of time and it's a tropical climate so walking 2 dogs in 90oF heat makes me want to tear my hair out. There is no joy in it.

OfficeMonkee · 26/09/2020 03:21

Sorting and putting clothes away

Cleaning cat litter tray

Putting bin bags out

Putting in/out contact lenses

Putting away groceries

Going to work Grin

ncd5785 · 26/09/2020 03:26

Having a hair washing shower - it's very tiring

Getting off the sofa and getting ready for bed once I've passed the too tired mark

RaisinGhost · 26/09/2020 03:48

Yes to getting petrol. I put it off and only fill up once the red light goes on, plus a couple of journeys after that.

garlictwist · 26/09/2020 04:03

Ooh I love putting clothes away. I actively look forward to it. I find it very soothing for some reason.

I hate changing the bedding. It makes me feel hot and flappy.

hotcrosswhat · 26/09/2020 04:12

@Time40 for me it's the other people at the petrol station, hedging their bets and blocking the way in, just pick a queue!! But if I'm organised enough to go when it's quieter (i.e. not in a hurry because I've put off doing it... Halo) it's really not an issue haha

hungrywalrus · 26/09/2020 07:54

I hate taking the kids to the playground. So boring. I also hate general admin to do with applying for passports, paying bills, sorting out anything related to the car (I don’t like cars at all) or responding to burocrats asking for yet another piece of paper.

I love how burocrat got autocorrected to burp rats. Grin
