Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I need to go to Sainsbury's to collect DD's socks and tights order.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 09/09/2020 19:25

I’ve just eaten; beef curry, egg fried rice, chips and a pancake roll from the Chinese. 5 viscounts and an apple - I feel sick unsurprisingly.

I planted my spring bulbs.

Still waiting for DD’s to be allowed back to school.

Ninkanink · 09/09/2020 19:25

I didn’t do any more cleaning of skirting boards today.

I didn’t bake the apple cake.

I didn’t do a load of washing.

Oh dear.

FallingIguanas · 09/09/2020 19:31

I tipped a whole bottle of coke down my upstairs loo earlier in the hope that it will remove stubborn limescale.

It does appear to be (slowly) working though I am having to scrub with the loo brush (Wink) more than I'd anticipated.

BillywigSting · 09/09/2020 19:42

@SunshineCake I have that one as well and it's also my favourite Grin

I picked up a set today with a very sweet woodland animals print. There is a fox one I want too but I'll have to get rid of some old stuff first.

I ate my dinner too fast and now I have wind.

Dp is being a mardy git again so I'm hiding upstairs with ds and about to put him to bed.

CMOTDibbler · 09/09/2020 20:05

The most exciting thing in my life today was that Harry the chicken finally learnt to come over with the rest of the girls and take a grape from your hand. 3 months it has taken her to learn what the other two she came with (joining 4 we had already) learnt in a day. I was unreasonably excited, and Harry got lots of grapes to make up for all the ones she had missed out on (as even if you threw a treat directly at her she had to have a think about what was happening, by which point someone else had eaten it)

DH has just returned from the shed after retrieving something he needs to take to work tomorrow.

I might have a rich tea biscuit with my soon-to-be-arriving cup of tea.

All the washing has dried beautifully on the line and now smells the unique way that only line-dry washing does.

Yippeeforme · 09/09/2020 20:20

I'm sneezing and getting sinusitis due to allergies, so DH went to the shop to get me some antihistamines, but he didn't know if he should get cetrizine hydrochloride or loratadine, so he got me a packet of each.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/09/2020 20:27

The washing machine just finished her cycle. I need to hang the stuff - mostly black and dark blue t-shirts.

BillywigSting · 09/09/2020 20:43

I have mithered my hamster and now he's having a good sniff and a chew of the stuff in his cage. I'm hoping he goes for the dental cookie I got him because his teeth are getting a bit long.

MutteringDarkly · 09/09/2020 20:59

My lovely BIL came and cut the lawn today and had a good tidy round.
We had fish for supper.
I am considering starting DC with piano lessons (seemed like a lovely idea until I had a reality check on the price Grin)

MrsWooster · 09/09/2020 21:10

I bought the boy’s new school trouser yesterday, which were too big, so I took them back today and swapped them for a smaller size. These ones do fit but he is unhappy, as it means his run of 6 months in stretchy pants is drawing to a close.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/09/2020 21:19

DS is moaning - now he's doing MFL English homework - sth about extinction rebellion (sp.). He left it to the last minute.

I must not forget to defreeze DD's birthday cake.

Mithered is a new word for me. I am excited (mildly).

lborgia · 09/09/2020 21:25

It's about 6am here, and have been awake since 5am. Youngest went to the loo, and once I was awake, the light between the curtains, and lack of bedsocks stopped me from going back to sleep.

Is eldest's birthday but being a sensible young man he's decided to forego traditional birthday breakfast round the table for an extra half hour in bed. I do not mind.

cheeseychovolate · 09/09/2020 21:25

I'm looking forward to getting my oven professionally cleaned tomorrow Smile

Ninkanink · 09/09/2020 21:28

That reminds me I need to spray the oven with cleaner to sit overnight so that I can give it a wipe tomorrow before I make the apple cake.

elvislives2012 · 09/09/2020 21:30

I'm trying roobios tea for the first time. I'm not a fan

Ninkanink · 09/09/2020 21:47

It’s an acquired taste, that’s for sure...

BamboozledandBefuddled · 09/09/2020 21:56

Collected DH from work and went to the pub for dinner. Sat in the pub garden afterwards to finish drinks. The pub cat brought me a dead mouse. I realise this is an honour but I might not have expressed sufficient gratitude. The cat removed it's mouse from my lap, gave me a dirty look and retired to a flower bed to chomp it's mouse in peace. DH found all of this highly amusing.

lborgia · 09/09/2020 22:05

Dinner in a pub garden sounds blissful. Cat obviously enjoyed it too.

Jemimatheragdoll · 09/09/2020 22:32

Have just realised my Boots order, due to arrive yesterday, has still not arrived.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am that I no longer need to write names with a biro sew name tapes into school uniform.

LostGirl2020 · 09/09/2020 23:09

I figured out a possible solution to the fact my monitor has stopped communicating with my laptop.

After trying a different lead IT suggested trying a different laptop. Well thankfully I have an old one ridden with viruses, tried that and it worked, so the culprit is the work laptop. Ha! Thoughts of having to send it back and be without one for a day were brief, IT suggested buying an HDMI lead instead of a scart lead. I now have to figure this out on Amazon at the weekend and not to buy the wrong thing.

Also the brightness on the work laptop is really poor, I am sure it was not like this. What I don't know is whether getting it hooked back up to monitor will allow me to adjust the brightness via the monitor. The plot continues.

My printer is also broken, as when I bought it there was a terrible noise. I called IT and to my embarrassment I had dropped a pair of actual scissors in the paper feeder, causing a grinding noise. It was never the same since and only lasted a few months, but am going to try and return it under warranty this weekend.

You need a pumice stone on it. Shifts it in no time.

I hate net curtains but had to order new ones today. Bloody fortune but bus stop outside my house so have to have them.

Spudlet · 10/09/2020 08:37

DH has gone to work at his Dad’s house today to keep him company (he lives alone, so we’re a bubble), and has taken Ddog with him. DS has had a spoonful of lactulose this morning as he’s complaining of a tummy ache and hasn’t been for a day or two, so we’re waiting for that to take effect. We’re also going to bake a cake today, but when asked what kind he’d like, DS will only say ‘a surprise cake’. And we have to go and buy dog food at some point, as we have totally run out.

All go in this house. Aside from DS, that is...
