Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I am finally getting round to putting away the teetering stack of clean laundry.

No exaggeration, it's almost as tall as I am.

Making shepherds pie for tea tonight as it's been dreary and I fancy a bit of comfort food.

WouldBeGood · 23/09/2020 15:16

Whoever said about the eggs and Marmite toast, thank you- what a discovery!

NameAChange · 23/09/2020 15:58

You're welcome! Someone told me about it I think.

Also peas crushed with a fork then spooned on top of the marmite then the egg.

FawnDrench · 23/09/2020 16:19

Our sunflowers are looking very sad and despondent in the rain today.

I bought some meatballs earlier.

I have cut my toenails.

WouldBeGood · 23/09/2020 16:50

@NameAChange ooh, that’s tomorrow sorted too.. all my favourite things.

Frownette · 23/09/2020 17:10

I had a fireman kiss the top of my head today when I wasn't expecting it.

I internally cringed as I've had some sort of bug since Saturday and haven't washed it. Must have been grim.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 23/09/2020 17:21

@BillywigSting I have put away my pile of laundry too. It has been sitting for months and I have finally tackled it thanks to inspiration from your post and the fact I was completely out of space

I made beans on toast earlier

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/09/2020 17:53

Overtime again - I could actually work through the night and the next day at the moment. But I am not allowed to do this.
DD will do the cooking - sth with chicken and noodles.

No housework to do, at least nothing urgent.

SpeedofaSloth · 23/09/2020 18:27

I emailed the school yesterday and got an ok response?

Good news.

BillywigSting · 23/09/2020 18:29

@NotanotherboxofFrogs good stuff!

My ironing has been left languishing and might need washing again by the time I actually around to tackling it. Even podcasts and music don't make it a bearable task.

Shepherds pie went down well, there is none left and I made a huge one. I sort of regret it now though as there's a small mountain of dishes to clean.

Need to hose down shower ds and myself. I cba but my hair needs washing and I'm in work tomorrow so I won't have time in the morning.

Poor dp is sick as a dog and has gone to bed so I am left with child wrangling and hoping he is well enough to go to work tomorrow.

Would much rather have a cup of coffee, a biscuit and a lie down but my day is not done yet Hmm

SpeedofaSloth · 23/09/2020 18:30

I am spending another evening in a car park, waiting for a DC to finish an activity. I had no idea there would be so much of this, when I had kids. Pre pandemic I could go and sit in the nearby Asda cafe for a bit and I didn't mind so much then.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 23/09/2020 19:05

You should do an Open University course @SpeedofaSloth. I seemed to do most of my studying in car parks Grin

Spudlet · 23/09/2020 19:07

I won’t go into too much detail but with the aid of the new ERIC regime - habemus poopam 👍 DS has earned his new LEGO and is pretty pleased about it. So is the washing machine. I hope we can keep this up!

We did get totally caught out in the rain on the school run this morning, I was all gung-ho about it being merely a light drizzle, then two minutes in, the heavens opened 🙄 Poor DS narrated the rest of the journey (we cycle), with such remarks as ‘My glasses are all wet! It’s raining Mummy, oh no! My bottom will get wet!’ (He had his waterproof trousers on, I’m not completely mean)

I think he has forgiven me now though, if only because my phone is the one with the LEGO ordering powers Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/09/2020 20:07

DH decided to make hummus using a loud kitchen device whose English name I do not know.

BillywigSting · 23/09/2020 20:26

I have just got out of the shower and found a massive spot on my shoulder. I thought it was a bruise at first.

Still want to go to bed, still have too much to do.

Dm wants to call too and she doesn't do phone conversations less than approximately eleventy billion hours long. It's because I'm 30 on Sunday and still haven't planned anything. I wanted to go out for dinner and drinks but the sodding virus has put the kibosh on that idea. I sort of just want to ignore it tbh. Maybe go for a walk with ds and dp or something.

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2020 20:39

Thinking about making some cheese and toast. Not sure if I can be bothered but haven’t really eaten much today so think I should. Hate eating when heart isnt in it. Just stress related temporary eating hiccup.

MitziK · 23/09/2020 20:50

Non stop thrills today.

After coming in and being hit by the wall of stench from the DTwatCats' Little Box of Evil, just as DP was conveniently heading out to his 2nd job, I gave in, emptied the tray, refilled it, chucked an entire pot of bicarb in and then Zoflora-Pet mopped the bathroom floor with water from the kettle.

Kind of went off the idea of preparing my lunch for tomorrow with that experience as he was supposed to do it yesterday morning before job 1, but opted to stay in bed after I left for work , so I'm hoping DP will come back and do it for me, along with some tomato soup with chilli flakes and a lump of French stick for dinner.

Amazon did deliver my Pyrex wok lid, though. I thought it had been lost, as it was already late (I'd ordered the one that said delivery Sunday, along with the wok) and the notification said it had been handed to somebody. It was actually wedged between two of the wheelie bins and covered with the overgrown Ivy under the windowsill.

This means I'll be able to cook Gyoza properly. And because it's a ridiculously expensive anodized wok, I'm hoping DP won't destroy it with burned on grease and scratches from knives for at least a month.

tootyfruitypickle · 23/09/2020 20:54

I just felt very happy at the idea of trying marmite and eggs on toast 😁

tootyfruitypickle · 23/09/2020 20:57

I resealed the grout by the patio doors to stop slugs coming in. The defences have been held by a line of salt all summer . I was going to get a man in so I’m very happy I did it myself and it looks fine (to me).

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2020 21:02

I’m now making cheese tomato and garlic flatbread griddled sandwich type thing.

MutteringDarkly · 23/09/2020 21:03

Found DD a piano teacher and the two of them get on like a house on fire.

Took great pleasure in ticking lots of things in my new planner.

Paid my mum a visit to cheer her up a bit (as yesterday's gov statement will have brought her down). We have agreed alternate Thursdays we'll get take-away together even if it means seven layers of thermals and waterproofs in the garden Grin

SpeedofaSloth · 23/09/2020 21:27

You should do an Open University course @SpeedofaSloth. I seemed to do most of my studying in car parks

That is actually a genius idea.

boatyardblues · 23/09/2020 21:33

I went for two energetic walks today and had a glass of wine after dinner as a reward. I wanted katsu curry crisps with my wine, but the snack cupboard has been mysteriously emptied. Hmm Most likely my boys, though DH has fallen off his junk food wagon big time since the weather turned colder so it could have been him.

QuestionableMouse · 23/09/2020 21:54

I finished a story I've been working on (well on and off) since March. Just over 24k words. Feeling pretty pleased with myself right now.

timothytoes · 23/09/2020 21:55

I've just eaten ALOT of Black Forrest gateaux.
