Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

Speed
Best of luck!
I started ironing when I was 8 - my household chore - DF needed 2 white shirts per day. DM usually put music on, now I listen to audio books.

redlockscelt · 20/09/2020 10:05

I've just put another piece in the jigsaw

Tonightstheteriyakichicken · 20/09/2020 10:20

Lock jammed for a heart-thumping five minutes in our downstairs loo last night. I felt stupid yelling for DH. I remember when I was 4 and it happened to me at my auntie's.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/09/2020 10:31

Recently I gave away a lot of children's jigsaws. Of course I had to count the pieces beforehand.
Then I came to one with 1500 pieces. No way was I going to count the pieces. I decided to do it when I've finished the current one. Lions in a savanna - so all beige.

DH is driving for an approx 5hr round trip to collect a bike for DD1’s birthday. She saw it in Smyths absolutely fell in love with it and said that’s the one she wanted for her birthday. Obvs none in stock anywhere near us, actually none in England, he’s driving to wales. Only 2 in stock, I click and collected one. The guilt of having a Christmas baby (28th) makes me do random shiz like this.

I’m watching Arthur Christmas because I love Christmas films, might watch The Grinch after.

Allington · 20/09/2020 10:53

DDog found something unpleasant to roll in at the park. She was very happy. Not so happy when she got plonked in the bath when we got home. Then she settled in the sun for a snooze but got scooped up by DD to display to her (DDs) youth theatre group that are currently meeting by Zoom.

I am still damp from my washing the dog activities, and reviving myself with a cup of coffee.

Champagneforeveryone · 20/09/2020 12:07

There is plague and pestilence in the house and I've gone to work, leaving DH to wrangle 2 vomiting and shitting dogs (DDog3 is too tight to waste food by vomiting)

Its one of the few times I've been grateful for an early shift on a Sunday morning Grin

Spudlet · 20/09/2020 12:08

Just back from a run along a new route. There were some very nice bits and some very overgrown bits that were impossible to run. And my legs were so, so, SO tired so I ended up walking a lot more than I’d have liked. But my new sports bra performed well. I think I will get another one if I have enough birthday money.

Now contemplating a shower (which means trying to escape from said sports bra, which may be quite a challenge Shock), then I need to tackle making meatballs and iron all DS’s school uniform for the week. I eschew all other ironing though (we are a crumpled family) so it shouldn’t take too long.

Squirrel26 · 20/09/2020 13:03

I need to put out the recycling, but I’m stuck to the sofa.

jessstan2 · 20/09/2020 13:05

I just went to the toilet.

SallySeven · 20/09/2020 13:32

My washing machine had just finished it's very long eco cotton cycle. I'd forgotten it was on until the spin and beep.

soddingkitten · 20/09/2020 13:46

Sodding Kitten has finally, definitively nailed the cat flap in both directions, including entry at speed pursued by monsters unseen. We haven’t seen much of him today.

DH took DS2 for COVID swabs at the nearest testing centre. He tells me, after running through the whole alphabet with DS2, the beginning of an ‘i’ sound gives you the best view of the tonsils and back of the throat for the throat swab.

Bouledeneige · 20/09/2020 13:55

I'd loading the car up with junk to take to the dump.

SpeedofaSloth · 20/09/2020 14:08

3 baskets down, 2 to go.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/09/2020 14:24

Speedofasloth
Yay - is there a reward at the end?

We finished eating and I made myself another hot water bottle. It is cold where I sit, but very central. Like the open plan office at work.

maxineputyourredshoeson · 20/09/2020 15:56

Didn’t watch The Grinch but settled on an episode of Midsomer Murders instead. I did have a browse of The Range’s Christmas shop online though...

SpeedofaSloth · 20/09/2020 19:08

Done. I have a big vodka and coke to settle down in front of the telly with Smile

I am ignoring the load of washing drying on the airer which really, if I was going to keep up, I would be doing tomorrow night 🙈

SpeedofaSloth · 20/09/2020 19:11

@Prokupatuscrakedatus I listened to Absolute Radio for most of the day, I sometimes put Spotify on a 90s indie play list so I can pretend I am still a youth and not a middle aged mum who irons for 4 people.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/09/2020 19:17

@speedofasloth
I've got one of those playlists too, but I am considerably older (it's 60ties and 70ties for me). It speeds me up when I am cleaning.

forgetthehousework · 20/09/2020 19:20

I cut up yet more garden rubbish. This is now becoming very, very boring.

Spudlet · 20/09/2020 19:41

Made the Swedish meatballs. It took a lot of faffing and was somewhat stressful at times (they fell to bits a bit when browning them, and the sauce took ages to stop being lumpy) but tasted good. I think I will make them again, but maybe with a few tweaks here and there.

Now sitting having a second glass of wine. In addition to the meatballs I have also baked brownies and ironed uniform, booked flu jabs for me and DH, and done some washing. And did a 4 mile run. I’m pooped!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/09/2020 19:55

Just finished hanging the last load of washing (duvet covers). I changed from summer (cotton) to winter (fluffy cotton) covers.

FabulouslyFab · 20/09/2020 19:57

I’m getting my bag ready for my return to the office tomorrow 😟 Worked from home since March 23rd. Only going back for two days a week and wfh the rest so that everyone has a turn. I’d happily give up my days.
The lottery isn’t working for me. Neither is cosmic ordering 😉

Champagneforeveryone · 20/09/2020 20:05

We have held off with ours. I refer to them as brushed cotton, DH refers to them as winceyette Grin
MarieVanGoethem · 20/09/2020 20:07

@Allington - am slightly sad you made the clarification re: whose youth theatre group were meeting over zoom, idea of a canine company is glorious. Reworking of “Ivan And The Dogs”? Or maybe the ULTIMATE version of cats... Hmm

I’ve returned my forms to the dentist & Been Helpful (I hope...) with my brother’s work for the start of term.
