Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I bought an expensive notebook today but it's so nice I can't bring myself to write in it.

sueelleker · 19/09/2020 15:53

@QuestionableMouse Did you mean to write tispy or was it a typo?

QuestionableMouse · 19/09/2020 16:02

Typo. Should have been tipsy meaning a little bit drunk.

Had coffee rather than another glass of cider because I need to take the dog out. Will save it for when I come back in.

The wind's freezing though. Wish I'd put my gloves on.

Oneearringlost · 19/09/2020 16:10

This isn't boring, it's amazing, watched Gone Fishing, on series 2, it just gets better, John Crace was talking about it in his Guadian column today ( see Thursday, if your interested)

SweetestThing · 19/09/2020 16:11

I've cleaned out the cupboard in the futility room so that our electricity meter can be replaced on Monday. Found my gardening gloves and three humane mousetraps.

Oneearringlost · 19/09/2020 16:12

"Guardian" and "youre". Sorry

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 19/09/2020 16:46

@Lazysundayafternoons I only use the vouchers to buy the main presents, I buy all year round - although I’m behind this year, I’m normally finished by now.

MutteringDarkly · 19/09/2020 16:49

This may be too exciting as it's certainly a first in this house - DC finished all their homework and it's still Saturday! I've had to go for a little lie down with a cup of tea to properly savour the moment.

FabulouslyFab · 19/09/2020 16:52

Listening to Rylan and his mum on the radio. They crack me up 😂

SpeedofaSloth · 19/09/2020 17:38

I just ate some rum balls from the market. Nice.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/09/2020 17:57

@BamboozledandBefuddled

Had crumpets for lunch, smothered lightly spread with Dairylea. I might be feeling slightly queasy now.
That is far too exciting for this thread! Only usually have them with butter Blush It has started me and DH on a slow spiral into imaginary crumpet decadence... cream cheese and smoked salmon is my current winner...

Ahem, sorry, far too carried away.

I did absolutely nothing of importance yesterday (hungover) or today (lazy).

There are 2 dogs asleep on my bed. Only one is mine. I’m thinking about joining them for a nap.

My tomato plants have finally flowered. Last year I had a tomato at Christmas. It was nice.

We’ve been for a bike ride. DS was back-pedalling on his trailer bike, and one of his pedals flew off! Fortunately I was cycling behind them as DS was totally unfazed by this and DH couldn’t really tell Confused Hopefully this won’t happen on the school run at any point... Shock I am going to buy DH a saddle bag and multi-tool for his bike as he’s the one who does long rides - I just run DS up and down to school. He wants a new bike at some point, so keeping an eye out for any sales or similar. I think he’s a bit jealous of my bike, which is newer and a lot lighter than his. He rode it a bit during lockdown while we were waiting for a spare part for his bike, and I had to semi-wrestle it back off him Grin

I have now plotted two running routes to my favourite coffee shop, and DM is going to put the word out to the family that I would like money for my birthday to go towards some new trainers 😊 So quite pleased about that.

Now about to have curry, naan bread and beer for dinner. So the day has definitely improved hugely from a bit of a shaky start.

WibbleBob · 19/09/2020 18:02

I’d love the cornflake tart recipe...

I painted the frame of a whiteboard
in black paint.

I found an extension lead for DDs room.

Yippeeforme · 19/09/2020 18:12

I made soup, then I ate it for lunch.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/09/2020 18:15

I washed a load of black T-shirts - same brand, same size owned by three different people.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/09/2020 18:18

I made dhal, and was a bit underwhelmed. It was tasty, but I don't know whether I'd serve it to other people. Is it better on the second day?

I've put some tonic in the fridge so I can have a G&T watching Strictly later. Glitterball

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2020 18:30

I've just been sorting out the loft and found my Granny's vintage sewing machine.

I also found lots of my kids old toys which I'm going to put outside my house tomorrow for people to help themselves to as I have a lot of passing footfall. I have just organised all the sylvanians in a basket. It's so cute!

Tonightstheteriyakichicken · 19/09/2020 18:32

After a friend of a friend promised me some free black eyed Susan plants, I was looking forward to putting them in next to my Rudbeckia, lovely tall cheerful golden flowers with black centres.
Today I learned they are in fact the same flowers. Blush Oh well, the more, the merrier.

Kleptronic · 19/09/2020 18:36

I had a man round today to quote for laying a patio and a hard standing for a bike shed. He's been doing my neighbour's front paths and said he might be able to throw in some free solar bricks.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/09/2020 18:40

Bouledeneige are you offering the Sylvanians to passers by? If so can I PM you to see if you have one I've been looking for for ages? If you do I'll happily pay P&P for it and send you some chocolate!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/09/2020 18:42

If I've misunderstood your comment, I'll just agree that all Sylbanians are adorable (except the penguins, I find them a bit creepy).

Purplewithred · 19/09/2020 18:44

DH has gone back to work so I am having leftovers for supper which may include leftover Ben&Jerrys while watching rubbish on TV.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/09/2020 19:00

Started to read 'Rendezvous with Rama'.
My team won their first game of the league in front of 10.000 real human spectators. Which - I admit - is exciting for the football-y type person.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/09/2020 19:29

Is it wrong I miss my Sylvanians?

How are the penguins creepy? Should I google, or would that be too exciting?

@Bouledeneige does the sewing machine still work?

Bought lentils. No idea what to do with them. Hoping to bulk out soups/stews/lasagne etc.

DH just stubbed his toe on the recycling bin. The red plastics one.

It’s all go here

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/09/2020 19:32

I think I'd expect them to be chubbier. They have black eyes in a black face, and they just don't have a "Sylvanian look" to me.
