Crack on, as you were, need a lie down and a bit of cosseting after the non stop thrill ride of the last thread. Just take it slow, ok?

I also cleaned skirting boards today with an amazing new product I discovered during lockdown. I order it from Japan.

Frownette · 19/09/2020 00:36

I need a cool drink, but I've got crushed ice, lemon and lime...but no carbonated water, dammit

WeWantTheFinestWines · 19/09/2020 01:03

The wine rack I bought to display my narwhal tusk is too big.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 19/09/2020 01:32

Some of these are too exciting. I want to know what the skirting board cleaner is & as for how the narwhal tusk goes with the wine rack - !

I've got char siu pork marinating in the fridge. Tomorrow I'll cook it & baste it 1000 times & it will be superb. I got everything I needed this time, except I used sherry instead of Chinese rice wine. Last time I didn't have sesame oil or molasses.

Susannahmoody · 19/09/2020 01:51

Someone mentioned Teams, I need to figure out how to open up multiple windows in it. So be able to open up an invitation, then open up something else, rather than closing it. Anyway.

Met a friend for coffee today, was packed inside so had to sit outside.

Had leftovers for lunch and dinner, sick of them now.

Weather gone cool, supposed to be 2 degrees overnight!

SunshineCake · 19/09/2020 07:44

@wellerhugs5

I had a bath the other night and shaved my legs using my Sanctuary Wet Skin moisturiser instead of my regular soap. I never remember to put it on after the bath. Which you are meant to do.
This is a brilliant idea. I never remember to buy shaving foam or gel and usually use nothing or soap which is rubbish. Hair conditioner is good but I resent the waste. Using the wet skin moisturiser could be a game changer. Too exciting for this thread!
Spudlet · 19/09/2020 07:50

Began the day with an email to tell me I didn’t get that job. Meh.

Hoping the rest of the day improves.

Frownette · 19/09/2020 07:57

Really phlemged up morning.

Got a glass of water with slices of lemon and lime, and a bit of ice.

Helocariad · 19/09/2020 07:58

I had leftover pear tart with my coffee for breakfast 😋. Less healthy than the usual muesli but cheered me up no end!

Lazysundayafternoons · 19/09/2020 08:16

@helocaraid I've just had leftover chocolate cake with lots of icing with my coffee for breakfast Smile

Sorry to hear that @spudlet

jnoOLDIE · 19/09/2020 08:20

The dog had me up at 6am. I couldn't get back to sleep. Found this thread for the first time. Genius...

Frownette · 19/09/2020 08:24

Really jealous that some of you can drink tea or coffee, it's only iced citrus fruit water for me until my phlegm clears

Spudlet · 19/09/2020 08:24

Thanks @Lazysundayafternoons It wasn’t the job of dreams or anything so it’s not the end of the world. I wanted to buy myself some new trainers though. Ah well.

Off to what used to be our favourite coffee shop later - it’s only just reopened as they thought it wasn’t safe to do so over the summer. We’ll cycle over, get takeaway and then go to the playground. Have met been able to do that for ages so quite looking forward to it.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 19/09/2020 08:31

This thread is fascinating! I just love the wonderful minutiae of everyday lives, it's fascinating and beautiful.

I have a big skip coming on Monday so I have literally demolished half the furniture in my house to fill it and it's hard to walk down the hall. It made me very happy though. I have replacement furniture coming in 2 weeks to give me time to repaint everywhere but we are going into local lockdown so it might be delayed because I can't get wardrobes up the stairs.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/09/2020 08:34

Good morning,
as expected the phone switch didn't work. The calls go to a voice box we don't have.
I'll have to run over to the shop and let them deal with it. The perks of living centrally.
DD's cake is lovely.
I treated my delphinium with milk/water.

soddingkitten · 19/09/2020 08:40

Sodding Kitten wasn’t shouting to be let out of the kitchen when I went to the loo at 7.30. I panicked, thinking we might have left the catflap unlocked and he could be shivering in the garden. He was fine. DS2 had snuck in early and fed him, so he was napping on a full belly.

ChocoLatte20 · 19/09/2020 09:46

Watching Brian Cox explain entropy over breakfast. In 6 billion years the sun will explode.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today yet.

Champagneforeveryone · 19/09/2020 10:17

My Covid antibody test was negative.

This was what I was expecting.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/09/2020 10:19

Back from the phone people. They dealt with it.
Our old provider wants the old router (14 years old) back, otherwise they charge us 100 €.
We are having oven vegetables with potatoes and chicken today.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 19/09/2020 10:33

@wellerhugs5 might be a bit too exciting for this thread but I was actually one of the testers for the Sanctuary Wet Skin Moisturiser - I quite liked it.

We’ve run out of milk.

I’ve eaten the Christmas Quality Street - must not start on the other stuff.

My Park Christmas Vouchers have been despatched - I’ve spent them 74 times already in my head.

MutteringDarkly · 19/09/2020 10:45

I've started the laundry marathon - 1 load is hanging outside in the sun, a second lot almost through the machine. Discovered DD left a tissue in her uniform pocket

Having another cup of coffee before tackling the next glamorous bit of housework...

Squirrel26 · 19/09/2020 10:48

My dog is giving me side-eye because I am in ‘his’ chair. He’s only got the whole sofa to lie on.

There’s a hole in my sock.

boatyardblues · 19/09/2020 10:50

DS2 was hogging the TV so I came back to bed after breakfast to watch Netflix in peace on my phone. Now I’ve lost any motivation to get up.

I have important domestic paperwork to review today with DH to send back to our solicitor on Monday.

We are out of obvious dinner options and our online shop doesn't arrive until tomorrow. I do have pesto and eggs. I can’t get excited about either.

OublietteBravo · 19/09/2020 10:56

I took a parcel to the post office. It’s quite difficult to get there at the moment as all the pedestrianised area seems to be being dug up.

Squirrel26 · 19/09/2020 11:06

I’m having a biscuit. It’s making me want another biscuit. Bloody sneaky slippery slope biscuit.
